Overwatch is looking to overhaul how Soldier 76's rifle works at its very core

[Update]: Overwatch's Halloween Terror 2020 event has arrived alongside an assortment of awesome cosmetics, as well as the Soldier 76 weapon rework!

Even though he has been buffed time and time again, Soldier 76 is simply not good enough for the modern version of Overwatch. With high healing power and a reliance on burst damage, the current meta doesn't leave much room for a slow-and-steady character, especially not one who has to compete for a spot with long-ranged powerhouses like Ashe and Widowmaker.

So after unsuccessfully trying to buff him through numerical changes alone, Blizzard has now decided to take things in a bit of a different direction. Instead of giving him one more point of damage, the new experimental update has completely removed bullet spread from the equation, and instead added a constant vertical recoil.

[Update #2]: The Blizzcon Online convention will be entirely free to watch this February.

[Update]: Continuing on with the theme of delays, World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion has been delayed until late 2020!

Due to the world being a bit of a wonderland right now, Blizzard will not be holding their annual Blizzcon convention later this year. Instead, they will be switching to an all-online variant with mostly the same amount of content and fan-interaction.

Needless to say, changing everything up takes a fair bit of time, so because of this Blizzcon Online will be breaking tradition and taking place from February 19-20, 2021. The exact details behind each event haven't been announced just yet, but if you're planning to join any of the fan contests, you might want to check out the official website given that Blizzard has now opened up submissions.

[Update]: The Fallen God expansion has just arrived, and so far the user reviews are looking quite good.

If you love a bit of smashing and bashing in your strategy games, you might want to keep an eye on SpellForce 3's Fallen God standalone expansion. It'll be arriving this November 3rd with a brand new faction in tow - the nomadic, highly aggressive Trolls that are more than eager to flatten anyone that dares encroach upon their lands.

For those of you wondering just how angry the trolls are, as well as what their campaign will be all about, that you can find out through the recently posted and rather brief trailer. Have a peek, it sets up the Trolls rather nicely:

[Update]: The newest patch has now also fleshed out France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

In an effort to further flesh out the already massive world map, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be releasing a major update every couple of months. The first of these has just arrived, and as the title would suggest, it is entirely about Japan!

"World Update I: Japan features upgraded digital elevation mapping across the entire country, high-resolution 3D photogrammetry for six prominent Japanese cities (Sendai, Takamatsu, Tokushima, Tokyo, Utsunomiya and Yokohama), and six exquisitely hand-crafted airports (Hachijojima, Kerama, Kushiro, Nagasaki, Shimojishima, and Suwanosejima)," reads the brief announcement.

VR-focused The Walking Dead Onslaught has now arrived, though sadly alongside poor reviews

When The Walking Dead : Saints & Sinners was first announced, many were skeptical. Not only was it yet another zombie-focused VR game, but it was also a tie-in for a TV show that's past its prime. The odds were heavily stacked against it, yet Saints & Sinners persevered and ended up being genuinely awesome, even when you ignored The Walking Dead connection.

So when it was time for The Walking Dead Onslaught to step into the spotlight, people were a lot more receptive to the idea. Sadly, that did very little to help Onslaught and its recent launch on PC and PSVR given that most of the user reviews are currently extremely savage.

After a brief stay in Early Access, Torchlight 3 will be launching this October 13th

[Update]: After only a few months in Early Access, Torchlight 3 has now been unleashed onto PC and consoles.

Torchlight 3 entered Steam Early Access back in June, and unfortunately it did so alongside mostly negative reviews. The main issue was that it simply didn't have enough content to warrant the price, which considering it's facing off against already well-entrenched ARPGs like Path of Exile and Diablo, left things in a bit of an awkward spot.

A few months and updates have gone by since then, and despite the reviews still being mixed, Torchlight 3 is now slowly getting ready to release in full. You can expect to see it this October 13th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Valorant has now finally nerfed the incredibly potent Operator sniper rifle

[Update #2]: Valorant's new animal-focused Agent Skye is looking to be an absolute powerhouse!

[Update]: Valorant is getting a chilly and zipline focused new map this October 13th - the Icebox.

Much like Counter-Strike's AWP, the Operator in Valorant is by far the deadliest and most game-changing weapon. However, while in Counter-Strike all players have access to multiple sources of disruption in order to make the AWP fair, in Valorant there's only a couple of characters that have flashes or smokes, which often leaves the Operator user uncontested for large portions of the match.

Thankfully, its reign of terror may have finally come to an end! The freshly launched Update 1.09 has not only increased the Operator's price from 4500 to 5000, but it has also decreased its scoped movement speed, made it more inaccurate directly after moving, as well as slowed down its fire rate. While each individual nerf is fairly small, combined they should make it so it's possible to push a skilled Operator user without watching your entire team drop like flies.
