If you're a fan of roguelikes, today is a pretty good day. Earlier in the morning The Binding of Isaac devs have released a few more tidbits of information about the massive Repentance expansion, while the classic roguelike Spelunky has just received an impressive new sequel!
As you might expect from a sequel, Spelunky 2 has taken all of the elements from the original, and then both improved and expanded upon them in a variety of ways. This means you'll see more numerous and elaborate levels, a whole assortment of new traps and enemies, new characters and items to toy around with, more branching paths and interactions, and perhaps most importantly of all, online multiplayer!
Among Us 2 has been canceled, with all of its planned content coming to the original instead

[Update #2]: The Airship has now arrived, and it really is a massive map!
[Update]: The Airship, Among Us' newest and biggest map, is launching this March 31st.
Among Us has become ridiculously popular over the past few months, to the point that it's now actively competing with Dota 2, PUBG and Counter-Strike for the top spot on Steam. Given its success, it shouldn't come as too much of as surprise to hear that the developers were planning a bigger and more ambitious sequel.
However, in a bit of a unique twist, the devs have now decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead bring all of that new content into the original Among Us! While the full list of planned changes and improvements is still nowhere to be found, here's a brief preview of what is to come in the near future:
No Man's Sky's Origins update has made planets significantly more unique and interesting to explore

[Update]: The newest Expeditions update has added a new game mode and plenty of awesome improvements.
Ever since its somewhat disappointing release, No Man's Sky has either improved or overhauled just about every aspect of gameplay. This includes things like base building, ground vehicles, a ton of new quests and areas of interests, and perhaps most importantly, the long-awaited multiplayer mode.
However, the one aspect of No Man's Sky that did unfortunately get neglected is the actual exploration of new and bizarre worlds. Sure, you could find the occasional planet with a wacky color scheme, but more often than not it was exactly the same stuff you'd seen a million times over. And for a game that's all about venturing into the unknown, that's a bit of a shame.

[Update #2]: Old School RuneScape is heading over to Steam this February 24, 2021!
[Update]: Modern RuneScape has now made its way to Steam.
After almost 20 years of being exclusively available from the official website, RuneScape will soon be making its way to Steam. And when I say soon, I really do mean that as the PC and Mac version of RuneScape will be launching on October 14, 2020.
Old School RuneScape will also be making the transition, though it will be doing so at a bit of a delay. No exact release date has been set for it just yet, but you can expect to see it in early 2021.
The Binding of Isaac's gigantic Repentance expansion is set to launch in late 2020

[Update #2]: The Binding of Isaac's final and absolutely massive expansion Repentance has now been unleashed!
[Update]: Change of plans, Repentance will now be launching on March 31, 2021!
It would appear that The Binding of Isaac team simply doesn't understand what the word "final" means. After already going through two rounds of final expansions for the roguelike classic, the "FINAL FINAL FINAL mega expansion" called Repentance is now set to arrive this December 31st! The exact date is most probably a placeholder, but with Repentance being 90% complete so far, it's more likely than not it'll arrive later this year.
When it comes to the actual content, the Repentance expansion seems to be genuinely impressive so far. It'll bring with it 130 new items to toy around with, a new alternate path with brand new chapters and final boss, 100 new enemies, 25 new bosses, and perhaps most importantly of all, 5000 new room designs to master!
MTG Arena has banned the omnipresent Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath from Standard play

[Update #2]: The day has finally come, Uro and Omnath have been fully banned from Historic play!
[Update]: Two weeks after the previous ban, MTG Arena has now thrown out the dreaded Omnath.
If you've returned to MTG Arena for the Zendikar Rising set like I have, you've most likely noticed that Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath seems to be present in just about every single deck you face in the ranked mode. Tournaments aren't free of his tyranny either, as the vast majority of competitive decks are running the exact same core: Uro, Omnath and Lotus Cobra. Needless to say, there's a bit of a problem here!
With that in mind, I am very happy to say that Uro has now finally been banned from Standard play. Any copies you owned will still remain fully playable in Historic modes, and more importantly, you will also receive a mythic wildcard for each copy you had when the ban took effect. So if you were wise enough to craft a playset of Uros in anticipation of this ban, congratulations as you've just scored yourself a few copies of an immensely powerful mythic card for free!
Frictional Games have released the full source code for the original two Amnesia games

[Update #2]: Amnesia: Rebirth has now been unleashed for PC and PS4, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty much the original game with new content and a few extra bells and whistles.
[Update]: Amnesia: Rebirth's lengthy preview offers plenty of great atmosphere and a glimpse at the monster.
If you ever wanted to see what kind of dark sorcery happens behind the curtains of game development, today's your lucky day. With Amnesia: Rebirth launching this October 20th, Frictional Games have decided to release the full source code for Amnesia: The Dark Descent and A Machine For Pigs under the GPL v3 license!
Much like how the warning on the website will tell you, this doesn't mean that Amnesia is now suddenly free. Frictional still owns all of it, but this does allow you to peek under the hood to see how the engine works, how the various gameplay mechanics were handled, and perhaps even puzzle over some particularly arcane piece of code. After all, Amnesia is over 10 years old at this point, so odds are there's some janky nonsense in there - there always is!
