Vampire Survivors' newly added Hurry mode lets you finish a run in half the time

[Update #2]: Vampire Survivors' May 2022 update has added an in-game shop, a trippy boss fight, and many secrets.

[Update]: Vampire Survivors new update has weaponized cats and finally added the gameplay-altering Arcanas.

While Hyper mode helps keeps things nice and interesting throughout the entire run, it sadly doesn't speed up the actual game in any way. So if you don't have 30 minutes to spare for a full run, you're pretty much out of luck.

Thankfully, the freshly released Update 0.4.2 has finally added an alternative - the Hurry mode! It essentially makes the in-game clock tick twice as fast, which means that not only will enemies cycle more frequently, but the whole run will only last 15 minutes in total. It's both convenient and decently challenging, so I have a feeling it's going to be my default mode moving forward.

[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3's long awaited Immortal Empires campaign is most likely coming in September!

It took a fair bit of time to get here, but Total War: Warhammer 3's very first major update has now been released alongside a whole host of improvements and bug fixes. The most important of these are the various changes to the Realm of Chaos campaign, all aimed at making it a less stressful and more rewarding experience.

As such, the negative traits you get in the Chaos realms are now not only less debilitating, but they're also much easier to get rid off. Similarly, defeating an enemy lord at the Forge of Souls will now remove all of their souls, thus giving you a chance to come back from a losing campaign without having to permanently camp there. And in order to make expanding your empire a less stressful affair, the "Protection" building chain can now prevent rifts from spawning in the province entirely!

[Update]: The day has finally come - Fall Guys has now gone free-to-play!

Something huge is coming to Fall Guys, though in order to find out what exactly that might be I'm afraid we'll have to wait a little while longer. Thankfully, we won't have to simply sit around as the Fall Guys team has just launched a series of events to help tide us over until the big announcement goes live!

From from until April 10th you'll be able to complete a variety of challenges in a playlist consisting of classic rounds and variations, with the end-reward being the Star Princess costume. Then from April 18th to April 24th you'll be able to dive into the jungle-only playlist to complete another set of challenges, with the reward this time around being the Star Detective costume.

[Update #2]: Overwatch's bittersweet final event, Anniversary Remix: Vol. 3, is launching on August 9th.

[Update]: Blizzard has unveiled Sojourn's origin story in preparation for the upcoming Overwatch 2 beta.

While this shouldn't come as too much of a shock given that the festivals have been getting smaller and smaller over time, Blizzard has just announced that they have canceled this year's Archives, Summer Games and Anniversary events. Thankfully, it's not all bad news since these updates will instead be getting replaced with a trio of Anniversary Remix events.

The first of these remixes has now arrived, bringing with it all of the previously available game modes, all of the previously available cosmetic items, as well as a couple of stylish recolors of some of the most popular skins. And just to spice things up a bit, Anniversary Remix: Vol. 1 has also added three weekly challenges that give you a chance to snag the previously exclusive Nano D.Va, Bastet Ana and Combat Medic Baptiste skins!

You Should Try Total War: Warhammer 2 - An RTS classic perfected over five years

"You Should Try" is a series of articles where I get to showcase a game I really enjoy while explaining what exactly makes it so much fun. This can be any game: new or old, action or strategy, indie or AAA. The only requirement is that it has to be something I've found myself obsessed with and in need of sharing with the world.

Today I think you should try Total War: Warhammer 2 - a supremely satisfying strategy game where pirates are both zombies and vampires, barnyard animals harbor a seething hatred for humanity, the French are hopelessly addicted to sipping from the holy grail, and where interdimensional daemons attacking your village is just another Tuesday! So if you would like to experience an RTS game whose scope is without equal, allow me to show you why you should give Total War: Warhammer 2 a try.

If you're a fan of the indie platform-fighter Rivals of Aether, I come bearing some good and bad news. The good news is that Aether Studios have just revealed Rivals of Aether 2 which aims to not only expand and greatly improve upon the original's formula, but also take it into a 3D direction!

As for the bad news, well... that would be the release date. Rivals of Aether 2 is currently pinned for a 2024 launch, though even that doesn't appear to be set in stone. But no matter what happens, it looks like we'll still have to wait for quite a while before getting a chance to dive in.

Sengoku Dynasty is an upcoming city-building life sim set in feudal Japan

By Ash

Similar to last year's Medieval Dynasty, the upcoming Sengoku Dynasty is a detailed life sim about trying to build a thriving village in feudal Japan. Whether you're aiming to do this in singleplayer or co-op, the whole process will start with you manually harvesting resources and slowly crafting tools, as well as personally protecting your humble settlement from both hordes of bandits and the weather itself.

However, once you manage to automate most of the simple tasks with the help of your villagers, Sengoku Dynasty will become more a town management game rather than a purely survival-based life sim. At that point your goal will be to focus on expanding your community all across the valley, researching advanced technology like medicine and gunpowder, and handling any potential disputes with your neighbors in a hopefully somewhat civilized fashion.
