Evil Dead: The Game artwork and logo

If you were eager to see what Evil Dead: The Game would look like once it launched at some point this February, I'm afraid I have some bad news to deliver. According to a recent announcement Evil Dead: The Game has now been pushed back to May 13th, which quite fittingly happens to be a Friday!

"When we set out to create a brand new game worthy of the Evil Dead franchise, we knew it had to be groovy as hell," explains the brief developer update. "This delay gives our team the time they need to get things just right, so your boomstick will be polished, fully loaded, and ready to blast Deadites."

[Update]: Fallen Order's sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is heading to PC and consoles on March 17th, 2023.

Given how successful Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ended up being, it should come as little surprise to hear that they have now partnered with Lucasfilm Games to make a sequel! The details are currently nonexistent, but even so, it's good to finally confirm the long-running rumors stating that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 is indeed in development.

The good news doesn't end there, however, as Respawn are actually working on three new Star Wars games in total! The second of the bunch will be a first-person shooter developed at Respawn itself, while the third will be a strategy game produced in collaboration with the freshly formed Bit Reactor studio.

MTG Arena artwork for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty dragons

[Update #2]: Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty has now arrived alongside a host of cyber-ninjas, biker rats and mechanized goblin samurai.

[Update]: All of MTG Arena's cyber-ninja infused Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty cards have now been revealed.

If you're tired of Innistrad's gothic horror and you're itching for something completely different, you might want to give the upcoming Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty set a closer look. To put it simply, it's a cyberpunk-inspired version of Japan where ghosts live in machines, mice run biker gangs, goblins are ferocious samurai, and ninjas like to dress up in glowing neon armor!

While it doesn't cover all of these themes, you can get a pretty good idea of what Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty's style is all about through the recent teaser trailer. Have a look:

Planetside 2 artwork for the Oshur continent

For the first time since 2014, I'm happy to report that Planetside 2 has just added a brand new continent - Oshur! These tropical isles offer plenty of cliffs and beachheds to pin potential invaders, wide swaths of open space where tanks and aircraft can dominate, as well as a whole assortment of new facilities and bases to capture!

Most interestingly of all, Oshur has also brought with it a complete revamp of the water mechanics. Infantry and treaded vehicles can now prowl alongside the ocean floor, hover vehicles can float above water, air vehicles can dive beneath the waves like submarines, while all projectiles that enter water will be hit with heavy drag and will require a different style of aiming. In other words, Planetside 2 has just added a whole new layer to its combat system!

Apex Legends artwork for Season 12's legend Mad Maggie

[Update #2]: Season 12 - Defiance has now arrived, and so far the new Control game mode is looking remarkably fun!

[Update]: Apex Legends' Season 12 preview shows off the new Control game mode and Olympus map changes.

After being teased for quite a while, Apex Legends Season 12 has now finally been revealed! Season 12 - Defiance will be launching on February 8th alongside the new Legend Mad Maggie, a reworked Olympus map, an assortment of new cosmetics, as well as a brand new PvP season.

Additionally, in celebration of Apex Legends' third anniversary, Season 12 will also bring with it three giveaways. From February 8-15 you'll be able to snag Octane and three thematic packs, from February 15-22 it'll be Wattson and three thematic packs, and from February 22 - March 1 you'll get to grab Valkyrie, three thematic packs and a legendary pack. Best of all, you won't even have to do any sort of challenges to unlock all of the freebies. All it takes is just logging in once each week!

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous artwork for the Inevitable Excess expansion

[Update]: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous' Inevitable Excess expansion has now arrived, though sadly alongside some harsh criticism.

If you've gone through the herculean task of finishing everything there was to do in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and you're now itching for even more content to devour, rejoice as the very first expansion is nearly upon us! That last part is not an exaggeration either, as the story-focused Inevitable Excess will be launching on February 15th!

Given the ending of Wrath of the Righteous, it should come as little surprise to hear that Inevitable Excess will be ramping up the power level to ridiculous degrees. As such, not only will you be getting access to "unparalleled mythic powers," but you'll also have to fight for the very fate of the space-time continuum!

Death Stranding Director's Cut screenshot of the cargo catapult

[Update]: The greatly improved Death Stranding Director's Cut has now landed onto PC.

After a whole bunch of teasers and half-reveals, 505 Games have now finally confirmed that Death Stranding Director's Cut will be heading over to PC on March 30, 2022. The full game will set you back $40, while upgrading from the original (on both Steam and Epic) will cost $10, just as it did on PlayStation.

When it comes to the actual improvements, the Director's Cut will add a variety of new equipment to play around with, everything from the colossal cargo catapult to the buddy bot, as well as smoother controls and better melee combat. You can also expect to see new missions and storylines, UI improvements, as well as some quality of life tweaks and fixes.

Steam Lunar New Year 2022 sale artwork

[Update]: Steam's chunky JRPG sale has just arrived and will stick around until March 21st, 2022.

If you've somehow managed to go through the massive onslaught of sales over the past month with some pocket money still left intact, you might be happy (or potentially worried) to hear that Steam's big Lunar New Year sale has now arrived. While the sale sadly doesn't bring with it any tiger-themed gimmicks, there's at least a huge list of games at equally huge discounts!

The whole thing will last until February 3rd, so if you have any favorites you were eying up, you might want to get on that before it's too late. If you don't know what to grab, however, allow me to give you some ideas. All of these are games I've greatly enjoyed over the years, so if you're into the genre they should treat you well. Here they are, in no particular order:

Faceless Haven MTG artwork

[Update #2]: All of MTG Arena's cyber-ninja infused Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty cards have now been revealed.

[Update]: MTG Arena's cyberpunk themed Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty will be landing on February 10, 2022.

Given the dominance of blue-flavored control and mono-colored aggro decks in Standard, I'm very happy to say that Wizards of the Coast did not wait for the upcoming Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty expansion before making some much-needed adjustments. To be more specific, Alrund's Epiphany, Divide by Zero and Faceless Haven have now been banned from Standard, while the previously suspended Memory Lapse has now been fully banned in the Historic format!

Additionally, in order to shake up the Alchemy meta, Wizards of the Coast has also unleashed an assortment of balance changes. Highly powerful cards like the Fearsome Whelp, Inquisitor Captain and Hullbreaker Horror have been toned down, while many dungeon-themed cards have been significantly buffed as the whole archetype was pretty much nonexistent in ranked play.

For Honor artwork for the Pirate hero

In an effort to experiment with some unusual hero designs and ideas, Ubisoft has now introduced a fifth faction into For Honor - the Outlanders. Unlike the previous factions, however, the freshly introduced Outlanders are not a cohesive group with a unifying culture, but rather a diverse batch of adventurers, mercenaries and opportunists.

With that in mind, it probably shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that the very first member of the Outlanders faction is a notorious Pirate! Here's a brief rundown of what she's like in action:
