Apex Legends artwork for Mad Maggie

[Update #2]: Apex Legends' Season 13 is adding Bangalore's brother and sprucing up the Storm Point map.

[Update]: Apex Legends' Warriors update is adding a new Arena map and bringing back the Control mode on March 29th, 2022.

After a whole bunch of teasers and previews, Apex Legends' Season 12 update "Defiance" has now finally arrived. Season 12 brings with it Mad Maggie as an aggressive new Legend to toy around with, a slight rework of the Olympus map, a highly engaging limited-time game mode by the name of Control, as well as a bunch of new cosmetics to collect.

What all of this looks like in actual gameplay, however, that you can find out through two of the recent trailers. The first one is all about Mad Maggie herself, while the second is the always-handy season overview. Have a gander:

Control essentially serves as a middleground between the Battle Royale and Arena modes, just without the depressing reality of failing your team whenever you want to practice something new, which is definitely something Apex Legends has been lacking. So while it's currently available only as a limited-time event, I wouldn't be even remotely surprised if Respawn decided to bring it back as a proper game mode at some point in the future. After all, it's just too much fun to simply let it fade away!

You can learn more about Control, as well as the Season 12 update as a whole, over at the Apex Legends website. As for the actual details behind all of the changes and balance tweaks, those you'll find at the freshly posted patch notes.

Have fun with Maggie!
