World of Warcraft Patch 10.2: Guardians of the Dream official artwork for the tree

[Update]: World of Warcraft devs have revealed the Roadmap and their plans for updates throughout 2024.

If the recent Blizzcon announcements have gotten you excited about World of Warcraft, you'll be happy to hear that Dragonflight's major Patch 10.2: Guardians of the Dream has just arrived. The update brings with it the Emerald Dream as a brand new zone, a variety of new customization options for Druids and Blood Elves, a legendary two-handed axe to uncover, a new Mythic+ and PvP season, as well as new Dragonriding talents to help you go even faster.

While not my cup of tea, Patch 10.2 has also added the ability to use old flying mechanics in the various Dragonflight zones. So if you're willing to sacrifice speed for convenience, simply complete the new Pathfinder achievement and you'll be able to whip out all of your old favorites!

[Update]: Season of Discovery has now arrived, and I'm happy to say it's looking quite good!

Blizzcon 2023 is now upon us, and given how massive World of Warcraft is, it should come as little surprise to hear that it has received quite a few announcements so far! The most exciting one for the WoW Classic crowd is the reveal of the upcoming Season of Discovery which will let players uncover new class-altering abilities in the form of runes.

Thanks to these new runes Mages will be capable of healing, Warlocks will be able to tank even the toughest of bosses, and so forth. Not only that, but Season of Discovery will also bring with it a 10-player Blackfathom Deeps raid with new and reimagined bosses, mechanics and rewards. The catch, if you want to call it that, is that the level cap will initially be set to 25 and will only be expanded by a couple of levels with each major patch.

[Update#2]: World of Warcraft devs have revealed the Roadmap and their plans for updates throughout 2024.

[Update]: WoW Classic's Season of Discovery is adding Warlock tanks, Mage healers and more.

Blizzcon 2023 is now upon us, and as you might imagine, Blizzard has started releasing a whole bunch of announcements for World of Warcraft. Unsurprisingly, one of these is that the rather divisive World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion will be getting the WoW Classic treatment next.

The exact date has not been announced just yet, but you can expect to see Cataclysm Classic arrive at some point in 2024 with faster and smoother leveling, a brand new (and harder) dungeon difficulty, account-wide cosmetic items, as well as a streamlined auction house. Most importantly of all, the Classic team is open to changes based on community feedback, so with a bit of luck Cataclysm Classic might just end up avoiding many of the pitfalls the original stumbled into.

Overwatch 2 screenshot of Mauga, the next tank hero, firing his dual chainguns

[Update #2:] Overwatch 2's Season 9 will bring self-healing to DPS and tank heroes, among other major changes.

[Update]: Mauga has now arrived, and as you'd expect, he's a ton of fun!

With Blizzcon 2023 now upon us, Blizzard has begun releasing all sorts of massive announcements for most of their games. The most exciting bit of news for Overwatch 2 is the simple fact that the dual chaingun wielding Mauga, a fan-favorite character ever since he first appeared in Baptiste's short story, will be the next tank hero!

Before I say anything else, allow me to share with you the freshly posted gameplay trailer. It's one of the better ones Blizzard has released in a while, so definitely check it out:

Dota 2 artwork for the newly announced hero Ringmaster

[Update]: Dota 2's Patch 7.34e has arrived with nerfs to most of the annoying and omnipresent heroes.

If you're a fan of Dota 2 and you're itching for something new and exciting to sink your teeth into, I bring you some good and bad news. The good news is that Valve has just announced the next hero - the megalomaniacal Ringmaster and his assortment of mechanical traps and contraptions!

As for the bad news, that would be the release date. Instead of launching in the near future in order to capitalize on the current wave of excitement from The International 2023 tournament, the Ringmaster will unfortunately be arriving at some point in 2024. While this is likely going to be in early 2024, similar to how Muerta was released, it's still going to be a lengthy wait.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight artwork for The Emerald Dream from the Guardians of the Dream Patch 10.2

[Update]: Patch 10.2 has now arrived, and as expected, it's been pretty fun so far!

If you're itching to dive back into World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, or simply looking for something to freshen up to experience, you'll be happy to hear that the major Patch 10.2 will be launching next week! Once it arrives this November 7th, the Guardians of the Dream update will bring with it The Emerald Dream as a brand new zone, a variety of new customization options for Druids and Blood Elves, a legendary two-handed axe, a brand new Mythic+ and PvP season, new public events, and naturally, a large new raid to explore!

However, much like the previous updates, Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope raid won't be opening its gates on November 7th, but rather a week later. The reason, as you might imagine, is to give players enough time to explore all of the new content at a leisurely pace before everyone gets super serious and competitive. As for the Raid Finder difficulty version, that one will be unlocked wing by wing according to the following schedule:

MTG Arena artwork for one of the dinosaurs in The Lost Caverns of Ixalan

[Update #2]: The Lost Caverns of Ixalan has now arrived with dinosaurs, vampires, bonus Commander cards and a surprisingly aggressive limited format.

[Update]: All of The Lost Caverns of Ixalan cards have now been revealed ahead of the November 14th launch. And, Brawl players are getting a little bonus surprise!

If you're a fan of the Ixalan plane and its weird mixtures of dinosaurs and vampires, among other things, you'll be happy to hear that MTG Arena will soon be making a return! Once it arrives this November 14th, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan will bring with it around 300 new cards to mess around with, most of which are focused around the concept of exploring a long-forgotten underworld.

In terms of new mechanics, there are three you should keep an eye out for: Craft, Descend and Discover. First and foremost, Craft is a new way of transforming artifacts. By paying the craft cost and exiling a specific number and type of cards from the battlefield or graveyard, you can transform your artifact and get a powerful effect.

[Update #2]: All of The Lost Caverns of Ixalan cards have now been revealed ahead of the November 14th launch. And, Brawl players are getting a little bonus surprise!

[Update]: MTG Arena's dinosaur-flavored The Lost Caverns of Ixalan is launching on November 14th.

It took far, far longer than anyone could've expected, but I'm pleased to say that MTG Arena's latest update has now finally added the ability to select your preferred card style. As a part of this addition the entire 'styles' portion of the collection screen has now been removed, while all of the styles and alternate arts have been bundled together under each individual card.

So if you want to change your preferred printing or card style, all you have to do is click on the arrows located at the top left side of the card, select whichever version or style you want, and you're done. Your favorites (marked with a heart) will be stored from that point onward and you won't ever have to worry about them ever again. And if you want to use a different style for a little while, that whole process is as simple as adding your preferred variant to your deck, even if something else is favorited.

Darktide official artwork showing off the Psyker's Assail ability

[Update #2]: Darktide's Patch #15 has added the first Carnival map and expanded the Veteran's skill tree.

[Update]: Darktide will be giving PC players a fancy set of armors as a way of saying thanks.

As a part of the recent Patch #13 Darktide added RPG-like talent trees with new abilities and 'grenades' for all classes to mess around with, as well as a massive array of balance changes for both the players and the enemies. Unsurprisingly, given the sheer number of tweaks that happened at once, the balance didn't end up being exactly perfect. Some abilities like Assail were so strong they could basically solo the game on the lower difficulty levels, while some weapons like the classic shotgun were left with such a low damage output that pretty much nobody used them.

So in order to sort these problems out, as well as to spruce up the gameplay even further, Fatshark has now unleashed Patch #14 with yet another massive batch of changes! The highlights include sizable buffs to the Plasma Gun that allow it to pierce through an insane amount of enemies, stronger and less numerous melee elites like Crushers and Ragers, as well as a much tougher time for players trying to speedrun missions while leaving their teammates behind.

Overwatch 2 artwork for the Season 7 control map Samoa

[Update #2:] Overwatch 2's Season 9 will bring self-healing to DPS and tank heroes, among other major changes.

[Update]: Season 7 has now arrived, and aside from a small hiccup with Hanzo, things seem to be going quite well!

While it has the unenviable task of trying to live up to the massive Season 6 update, Overwatch 2's Season 7 will be coming this October 10th to wow players with some fun new changes and additions. You can expect to see a tropical new Control map by the name of Samoa, reworks for both Sombra and Roadhog, as well as a plethora of new cosmetics, including Hanzo's rather fancy Mythic-tier skin.

Speaking of Sombra, her invisibility has been transformed into a passive ability that triggers when she's out of combat. Her signature hack ability prevents enemies from using their own abilities and reveals them through walls, and can also be used on health packs in order to lock them from the enemy team and make them respawn faster. Translocator is no longer a set-and-forget kind of ability and will now always teleport you when thrown - either after a short delay or when it hits the terrain.
