Gwent artwork showing Ciri and Geralt playing a game

If you're a fan of The Witcher 3's minigame, or just looking for a new card game to pick up, you might be glad to hear that the Gwent Open Beta is now live across all platforms. Simply head over to the official website, click that giant download button, and you'll be haggling with Trolls in no time.

But if you're someone that has never played The Witcher 3 (you should fix that little mistake) or even heard about Gwent before, I'll add the recently posted gameplay trailer right below. Unlike the vast majority of gameplay trailers this one actually does a great job of explaining what Gwent is and how it works, so its well worth checking out. Have a look:

Morrowind from The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online will soon be getting a lot more interesting as the Morrowind Upgrade will be adding a bunch of new locations to explore, a new bear-taming class to mess around with, as well as a brand new storyline filled with political intrigue and backstabbing. The expansion itself is set to arrive on June 6th, but if you own or decide to purchase the Digital Upgrade version you can now begin your adventures and see everything that Morrowind has to offer.

Since Bethesda's naming conventions are a bit strange, it is important to mention that you don't need to purchase the Collector's Edition in order to gain early access. The standard version will do just fine! But if you do decide to put some extra strain on your wallet and grab the Collector's Edition, here's what you'll get: a grey War Bear variant for the new Warden class, an Armored War Horse mount, a Dwarven Spider pet, a Morag Tong themed armor set, and a variety of character emotes. Whether these cosmetics are worth the extra €20, however, that I'll leave for you to decide.

Red Mage from Final Fantasy 14 Stormblood

Final Fantasy 14 is currently gearing up for Stormblood - a massive expansion that will bring with it an entire game's worth of content, a level cap increase, new raids and dungeons, a reworked battle and inventory system, and the list goes on for quite a while. But what might be the most intriguing additions, from a gameplay point of view anyway, are the two new flashy jobs: Red Mage and Samurai.

If you don't know much about them, but would like to see just how they ply their trade, Square Enix has you covered as they have recently released a video showcasing all of the actions (aka spells and abilities) coming in with Stormblood. It is worth noting that the video also features all of the other jobs, so even if you're not a fan of the two new additions you'll probably find some sort of spell to gawk over. Have a look:

Tinker from Dota 2 repairing his suit of armor

When the Source 2 version of Dota 2 arrived there was much rejoicing, for even though the client was buggy and Rubick messed up the performance was greatly improved across the board. However, as further updates rolled out the Dota 2 client slowly but surely started getting less stable. Eventually this resulted in unusual framerate drops during high-intensity fights even on beastly rigs, a general reduction in framerate for lower-end machines, and a variety of other minor annoyances.

Well, if you're one of those affected by these problems you'll be glad to hear that Valve has just released a massive patch aimed solely at improving client performance! There are no specific patch notes to list out, so here's Valve's message that came with the announcement:

Total War: Shogun 2 screenshot of samurai in battle

Total War: Shogun 2 is perhaps the very best game in the series for newcomers and those that still haven't grasped all of the elements that make Total War games what they are. As such, I am very glad to say that both the Shogun 2 Collection and Fall of the Samurai Collection are now available on Linux as well!

If you're interested in a brief peek at what exactly the Linux version looks like, you'll find the recently posted launch trailer down below. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it'll at least give you an idea of what exactly you're getting into. Have a look:

Mirage: Arcane Warfare screenshot of the Vypress hero in combat

Mirage: Arcane Warfare is the spiritual successor to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, though the highly-armored and constantly screaming knights have been replaced with a much more diverse cast of characters and plenty of destructive magic. But perhaps the biggest difference between the two PvP slaughterfests is that Mirage relies on predefined skills, weapons, and magical abilities, whereas Chivarly allows players to tailor their build in whichever way they desire. Both sides have their pros and cons, but its still something worth mentioning given how similar the two games are otherwise.

But rather than just describe what Mirage: Arcane Warfare is and isn't, let me share with you the recently posted launch trailer. Its fairly short, but it will give you a damn good idea of what kind of game you're getting into. Have a look:

Disgaea 5 Complete official box artwork

If you're a fan of the ridiculously over-the-top Disgaea RPG series you'll be glad to hear that its latest installment will soon be making its way to PC as a part of the Disgaea 5 Complete collection. This information comes from the recently updated ESRB website which clearly shows that Disgaea 5 Complete has been rated for both the PC and Nintendo Switch.

For those of you that don't know much about the Disgaea series but are willing to go slightly insane in order to give it a try, allow me to show you the launch trailer for Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. It does a pretty damn good job of setting the tone for the series, while also explaining what the actual gameplay is like. Have a look:

Overwatch Anniversary Update skins for Lucio, D.Va and Mei

Overwatch will be celebrating its very first birthday tomorrow, and in order to get everyone in on the festivities Blizzard has just unleashed the Anniversary Update. It brings with it three new arena (elimination) maps, a ton of awesome skins including one for Hanzo that makes him look like Genji, dance emotes for all heroes, numerous new voice lines, and the list goes on for quite a while.

If you would like to get a little bit of a sneak peek at some of these new skins you'll find the recently posted launch trailer right below. Oh, and make sure to stay until the end or you might just miss out on all of the hilarious dance emotes! Here's the video:

Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshot showing riders cloaked in shadows

Back in October Rockstar announced Red Dead Redemption 2 and pinned its launch for Fall 2017, a rather ambitious release date given that we still haven't received a proper gameplay trailer. Unsurprisingly, Rockstar has now come out to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 is being postponed all the way to Spring 2018 in order to ensure it becomes the best game it can possibly be: "Some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans. We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready."

There is still unfortunately no word about the PC version, but I have a feeling its going to come at some point after the console one, much like GTA 5. There just isn't any reason for Rockstar to keep Red Dead Redemption 2 console-exclusive, especially now that we live in an era where executives have finally realized that PC gaming is neither dead nor a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

The church from the Far Cry 5 teaser trailer

Last week Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 5 in what might just be the most barren announcement of all time - just a plain logo without a single bit of text to accompany it. While today's teaser isn't much better in terms of giving out information, it at least offers plenty of ammo for speculation and some... interesting scenes to ponder over.

The official announcement trailer will arrive on May 26th, but until then here's a brief glimpse at what Hope County, Montana has to offer. Oh, and make sure to pay careful attention to the bell-ringer during the later parts of the video! You'll understand why when you get there. Anyway, here's the video:
