The Elder Scrolls Online screenshot of the new Clockwork City

Much like the relatively recent Update 15, The Elder Scrolls Online's upcoming Clockwork City patch will come in two parts: one entirely free for all players, and the other exclusive to those that buy the DLC. In terms of free content you're looking at a new Battlegrounds game mode for ESO: Morrowind, Xbox One X support, as well as a host of balance changes, bug fixes, and some much needed quality of life improvements.

The Clockwork City DLC itself, however, offers much more interesting features. It'll bring with it a brand new and rather beautiful zone to explore, a new story quest revolving around a Daedra conspiracy that will send you to the heart of the machine realm, a new fast-paced Trial designed to challenge even the most seasoned of veterans, and naturally, a variety of new enemies to beat up along the way.

X4: Foundations screenshot from within a star ship cockpit

After the thoroughly mediocre launch of X Rebirth Egosoft has now finally returned with an announcement for a brand new entry in the X series. Once it arrives X4: Foundations will bring with it the most sophisticated universe simulation the series has seen to date, the ability to explore, fight and trade with a variety of unique ships, and perhaps most interestingly of all, the options to construct your very own modular space station.

There are simply far too many details for me to cover in brief, so if you're interested in an overview of what exactly X4: Foundations is all about, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted announcement video down below. Have a look, its quite interesting:

Mordhau screenshot of a knight in plate armor

Mordhau is an upcoming medieval multiplayer fighting game that aims to be as realistic and faithful to the time period as possible. Once its fully finished it will feature massive battles with up to 64 players, the ability to fight on horseback, gigantic castles that will need to be breached through the use of equally gigantic siege weaponry, and the list goes on. As you can see, these are some rather lofty goals, especially for a game that has been funded primarily via Kickstarter.

So if you're wondering whether Mordhau will ever be able to live up to expectations, or what the combat is even all about, you'll be glad to hear that the Closed Alpha will begin tomorrow, on September 12th at 18:00 UTC. Its currently unknown what exactly the alpha will contain, but its certainly going to be an interesting few days as this is the first time the public has been given access to Mordhau!

Jurassic World Evolution screenshot of the park from the trailer

In an announcement that I must admit came as quite a surprise, the developers of Planet Coaster revealed what appears to be a spiritual successor to Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. What this means in gameplay terms is that the newly announced Jurassic Park Evolution will allow us to create and manage our very own version of Jurassic Park!

If you're wondering what that might look like, and what sort of style the developers are even going for, make sure to check out the announcement trailer down below. The video unfortunately doesn't feature any gameplay, but it should still be enough to give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from Jurassic Park Evolution. Have a look:

South Park: The Fractured But Whole screenshot of Coon and Friends

In South Park: The Fractured But Whole we'll be delving into the crime-ridden underbelly of South Park in order to use our super-powered butt to save the world from utter annihilation. And like any proper super hero, along the way we will also need to chose an 'organization' to represent, either Coon and Friends or the Freedom Pals.

Since trying to choose which group of kids you want to get constantly berated by is not an easy task, Ubisoft has recently posted two recruitment videos to hopefully set you on the right path. Both vidoes are fairly short, but they should give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from The Fractured But Whole. Have a look:

Anno 1800 screenshot of a highly busy and very smoky harbor

After the fairly disappointing and seemingly unpopular Anno 2205 I figured the series would be taking an extended break, but that appears to not be the case as Anno 1800 has just recently been announced. Whether its going to fix the flaws that plagued its predecessor still remains to be seen, but on the positive side it'll at least be bringing the series into a highly interesting time period - the Industrial Revolution!

If you're wondering what all of this might look like, and what sort of tone and style Ubisoft is going for, you'll find what you seek in the latest teaser trailer. It unfortunately doesn't feature any actual gameplay, but it sure is pretty to look at! Have a gander:

The Witcher 10th anniversary image showing off a variety of characters celebrating

CD Projekt Red and their "The Witcher" series are widely known and rightly praised today, but their beginnings were anything but smooth. If you haven't played the original Witcher PC game, you might even be surprised to hear that it was panned by both critics and users alike due to game-breaking bugs and a plethora of technical problems. Back then nobody expected it to have any sort of impact on the RPG genre, but due to CDPR's perseverance and a constant will to improve the series quickly rose in both popularity and quality.

So if you're wondering how exactly Geralt made the transition from being a book character to the star of his own RPG series, as well as what journey CDPR had to undertake in order to get him there, you'll find what you seek in the recently posted and extremely detailed documentary down below. Its about two hours long, but if you feel like peering behind the curtains of game development I would highly suggest you still give it a look as its really quite intriguing. But enough babble from me, here's the documentary:

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of the mighty Moon Dragon

After already revealing the Dark Elf War Hydra and the Skaven Hell Pit Abomination, Creative Assembly has now finally shifted their focus towards the High Elves. And what better way to showcase the might of Ulthuan than with one of the most powerful creatures the Warhammer world has ever seen - the Moon Dragon.

So if you're interested in watching a Moon Dragon absolutely annihilate a Black Dragon and its Dark Elf rider, you'll find the most recent teaser trailer right below. Have a look, its short but rather sweet:

Cities: Skylines screenshot of grass covered buildings from the Green Cities expansion

While I feel like all of these expansions are slightly too pricey, I still must commend the Cities: Skylines developers for their continued support. Despite releasing a damn good game over two years ago they have continuously added more and more content to it. Sometimes its silly and fairly questionable stuff like extra music, other times its ridiculously awesome stuff like blimps and giant monorails, but there's always something new and interesting to toy around with.

With all of that in mind, it really shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that Cities: Skylines will be going eco-friendly later this year, all thanks to the newly announced Green Cities expansion. You can expect to see a variety of new structures, parks, electric cars, alternative service buildings, eco-friendly stores, and the list goes on. If you would like a quick peek at what all of this looks like in-game, you'll find the recently posted teaser trailer right below. Have a look:

Doom VFR screenshot of a demon standing very, very close

During the recent E3 convention Bethesda announced both Fallout 4 VR and Doom VFR (with the "F" most likely meaning the same thing it does in BFG), though they didn't share much in terms of details. All we really knew is that Doom VFR would be designed to replicate Doom's gameplay as closely as possible, while still trying its damnest to keep people from getting seasick in the middle of their living rooms due to all of the constant motion and hordes upon hordes of demons.

If you're not exactly satisfied with that barebones answer, you'll be glad to hear that Bethesda recently posted a video showcasing not only gameplay, but also the developer's reasonings behind some of the major decisions. Its not a very lengthy video, but it should clue you in on what id Software is trying to achieve. Have a look:
