Jurassic World Evolution screenshot of the park from the trailer

In an announcement that I must admit came as quite a surprise, the developers of Planet Coaster revealed what appears to be a spiritual successor to Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. What this means in gameplay terms is that the newly announced Jurassic Park Evolution will allow us to create and manage our very own version of Jurassic Park!

If you're wondering what that might look like, and what sort of style the developers are even going for, make sure to check out the announcement trailer down below. The video unfortunately doesn't feature any gameplay, but it should still be enough to give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from Jurassic Park Evolution. Have a look:

The details are currently a bit shaky, but what I can tell you is that Jurassic World Evolution will allow us to not only create our own Jurassic Park, but also bioengineer new dinosaur breeds! In order to do this we'll need to construct containment and research facilities, as well as attractions necessary to finance our endless pursuit of even larger and scarier dinosaurs. I would love to tell you more as I'm quite intrigued myself, but I'm afraid that's all of the gameplay information revealed so far.

As for the release date, you can expect to see Jurassic World Evolution on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in summer of 2018. There isn't anything available right now, but if you would like to follow its development moving forward I would recommend heading over to the official website. Once more information gets revealed I'll make sure to cover it, but until then all we can do is hope Jurassic World Evolution will be just as good as Planet Coaster.
