After being delayed due to quality concerns, Resident Evil 7's "Not a Hero" DLC will be coming this December 12th alongside the Gold Edition. Most importantly, it will be entirely free for all owners of the game, regardless of edition or time of purchase!
As for the content, Not a Hero will take place after the events of Resident Evil 7 and will follow the boulder-punching Chris Redfield as he blasts apart hordes upon hordes of mutated monstrosities. We'll be able to explore both new and familiar locations, fight against a variety of new and previously unseen enemies, and naturally, try to solve yet another mysterious outbreak in the middle of nowhere!

If you've ever gotten invested into a Total War game you probably know just how important mods are in keeping the whole experience fresh and interesting. With mods you can add new units, new starting positions, new factions, a complete balance overhaul, a variety of new battle maps so you're not just fighting in an open field every time, and the list goes on for a while. There really is a mod for everything, no matter how obscure and potentially silly the idea might be.
In order to detect potential flaws and balance problems Total War: Warhammer 2 sadly launched without Steam Workshop support, though thankfully it still allowed players to plug in their mods manually. However, that whole process requires actually finding the mods in the first place, which is not always the easiest thing for new players. As such, I am very glad to say that Steam Workshop support will be going online this Thursday!

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be coming to PC and consoles this November 17th, bringing with it far more content than its predecessor. There will be a lot more maps to explore and demolish, an equally large variety of weapons and vehicles spread across the various Star Wars time periods, a space-based combat mode with its own ships and gameplay systems, and naturally, a whole new batch of heroes and villains to toy around with.
If you would like to give all of this content a try, without spending €60 for the honor, you'll be glad to hear that the Open Beta is set to begin later this week. Those of you that have pre-ordered Battlefront 2 will be able to get in on October 4th, while everyone else will be able to hop in on October 6th. The Open Beta will last until October 9th, so you should have plenty of time to see what Battlefront 2 is all about, and more importantly, whether its worth your time and money.

Total War: Warhammer received a slow and steady influx of free DLC ever since launch, and given how much they have improved the overall quality of the campaign I very glad to say that this tradition will continue into Total War: Warhammer 2 as well! While most of the information is still shrouded in mystery, I can tell you that the very first of these first free DLCs will be the combined campaign - a massive world map bringing together Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2!
Since a realistically combined map would consist of 80% water and empty provinces, there will be some major changes to the continents in order to make them more fun to play around with. Total War: Warhammer 1's campaign map will pass by mostly unchanged, while Total War: Warhammer 2 will lose most of its superfluous factions (for example, there is no need to have 12 different High Elves roaming the map) in order to achieve better balance. And speaking of balance, the Vortex campaign mechanics will not be making an appearance, though there will be some new features added to the oldschool races in the following patches.

Vampyr is an upcoming vampire themed RPG from Dontnod, the developers you might know from their work on Life is Strange and Remember Me. We'll be playing as a doctor trying to deal with a mysterious plague sweeping through the entirety of London, while simultaneously attempting to manage our vampiric curse that forces us to feed on human blood in order to survive. If you focus too much on saving the city you might just find yourself too weak to continue due to starvation, but if you feed too much on your fellow citizens there are going to be riots and organized militia roaming the city, fully determined to stamp out any and all vampires. Its an interesting conundrum to say the least, and I'm genuinely curious to see how Dontnot will approach it.
Unfortunately, it would appear we're going to have to wait for a little while longer in order to see what Vampyr is all about since the developers have just recently announced a delay. According to the official post you can expect Vampyr to arrive on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in the spring of 2018, though no exact date has been given just yet.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is an upcoming 2.5D fighting game headed by Arc System Works, the famed studio behind the Blaz Blue and Guilty Gear series of fighting games. The goal with Dragon Ball FighterZ is to bring the series back to its roots in terms of gameplay, while still being as accurate to the show as humanly possible.
While the recently posted story trailer won't exactly give you a good look at the narrative, it does showcase the rather awesome visuals and just how close they are to the show's style. Have a look, its a fairly short but flashy video:

Frictional Games, the creators of Penumbra, Amnesia, and SOMA have one of the more interesting developer blogs out there. Besides simply talking about the successes and failures of their own games, they also discuss a large variety of topics covering everything from gameplay design to the use of sound in horror games. If you ever have a few hours to lose, I'd recommend you give it a look as there is some fascinating insight in there.
What I would like to highlight today, however, is Frictional's latest blog post that talks about the state of SOMA two years after its release, as well as the state of their company as a whole. If you would like to read the whole thing you'll find what you seek over here, but for now allow me to share with you a couple of the more interesting quotes:

Given the massive popularity of the show, as well as some rather impressive reviews for the original Attack on Titan game, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that Attack on Titan 2 is currently in development. It will focus on the show's second season and bring with it a variety of new characters to play with (including a roster of Titans), as well as numerous improvements to both the action and storytelling elements.
The details are unfortunately in short supply, but you can get a good idea of what Attack on Titan 2 is all about through the two recently posted trailers. Have a look, they seem to have captured the spirit of the show quite nicely:
