[Update #2]: Total War: Warhammer 3 devs have detailed their roadmap for updates throughout 2023 and early 2024.
[Update]: Total War: Warhammer 3 has made the Immortal Empires combined campaign map free for all owners!
As a part of August's update, Total War: Warhammer 3 added the absolutely gigantic Immortal Empires combined campaign map. As you might imagine given its sheer size, Update 2.0 brought with it not only a ton of new content to play around with, but also quite a few bugs and unpolished features.
In order to sort some of these issues out, as well as give most of the factions a couple of tweaks to make them more balanced in both singleplayer and multiplayer, Creative Assembly has now unleashed Update 2.3. In my eyes the star attraction is the large amount of new landmark locations for you to conquer throughout the Immortal Empires map. Some of these have been ported over from Total War: Warhammer 2 and some of them are entirely new, but regardless of their origin they all offer a variety of nifty bonuses for your empire and are well worth seeking out if you're in the region.

Much like the previous games in The Dark Pictures series like Man of Medan and House of Ashes, Supermassive Games' freshly released The Devil In Me is a horror themed action-adventure that will present you with a variety of difficult choices. These conundrums can result in everything from the characters getting to live happily ever if you manage to succeeded in all of their major events, to getting unceremoniously killed because of a series of blunders.
As for the actual storyline, The Devil In Me follows a group of documentary film makers exploring a replica of serial killer H.H. Holmes' "Murder Castle", with the whole project going about as well as you would expect from a horror game. What this looks like in action, however, that you can check out through the trailer below. Have a peek:

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's Battle for Olympus update has arrived with a fun novelty game mode and some truly awful challenges.
[Update]: Overwatch 2's Season 2 has now arrived with a new tank hero, escort map, cosmetics, and a bunch of strange balance changes.
Three years after he was introduced as a part of the Storm Rising event, Null Sector's mysterious leader Ramattra will finally be joining Overwatch 2 as a playable character on December 6th. The Omnic revolutionary will be joining the roster as a brand new tank and will feature a stance-shifting mechanic that lets him choose between unique melee and ranged focused abilities.
In his standard ranged form Ramattra will be able to fire a stream of damaging projectiles from his staff and create a small shield to help keep him close the distance. Once he's in close quarters Ramattra can switch to his Nemesis form which grants him bonus armor, the ability to create shockwaves with every punch, as well as a defensive cooldown that lets him shrug off most attacks from the front. Combine that with a vortex ability that is available in both stances and which slows and grounds enemies, and you've got yourself a fairly interesting toolkit to play around with!

[Update #2]: My review for Darktide is now live and, long story short, it's as rough and fascinating as the world it takes place in!
[Update]: After playing for about 50 hours now I've decided to create a beginner's guide covering some of the basic concepts and combat strategies. So if you'd like your first run through Darktide to be a nice and pleasant one, I'd welcome you to give it a look.
If you've been playing the recently launched Warhammer 40,000: Darktide pre-order beta, chances are you've noticed that getting stronger weapons and curios is a bit of an annoying process as it mostly involves camping the in-game store and hoping for something good to randomly appear. Thankfully, today's beta Update 1.0.8 has sorted this problem out by introducing the weapon crafting/upgrading system!
In order to make use of the freshly unlocked Hadron’s Workshop you'll need to collect crafting materials scattered throughout the levels. These are found in the same sort of locations as consumable items, and they are shared across the entire team, so even if you're the least observant player in the whole world you should still be able to, eventually, craft the weapon of your dreams.

[Update]: Steam's massive Winter Sale has now arrived along with the chance to vote for the Steam Awards 2022!
If you're looking to fatten up your gaming backlog for the cold winter months, you're in luck as the Steam Autumn Sale 2022 has now arrived! The big sale will last until 10am PT on November 29th, so you should hopefully have more than enough time to figure out which games to add to your collection.
For those of you completely unsure about which games are even worth considering, allow me to give you a couple of recommendations for some of the cheaper ones I've been playing over the past few months. Here they are, in no particular order:

After going through a bit of a delay, the co-op focused Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will finally be launching in a couple of weeks, on November 30th. If you would like to dive in ahead of time, however, you'll be pleased to hear that Fatshark has just recently launched the pre-order beta.
Before you get too excited, it's important to mention that the pre-order beta is not the fully finished game as it's still missing a good chunk of content, as well as some polish. So if you are planning to start early, I'd recommend treating the beta as more of a appetizer rather than the main course.

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2's Season 2 has now arrived with a new tank hero, escort map, cosmetics, and a bunch of strange balance changes.
[Update]: Blizzard has now detailed Ramattra's every ability and his stance-shifting mechanics.
After going through a slight delay due to some mysterious technical issue, Overwatch 2's very first balance update has now finally arrived. As expected, it brings with it a couple of nerfs to some of the most powerful heroes out there, as well as a set of bizarre yet fairly inconsequential nerfs to Junkrat of all people.
You can find the full list of tweaks and bug fixes over at the Blizzard forums, but for now allow me to share with you all of the major hero rebalances. Have a gander:

If you're in the mood for a nonsensical sandbox game that doesn't take itself even remotely seriously, you might be interested to hear that Goat Simulator 3 has now landed onto PC, PlayStation and Xbox. As you would expect from a sequel that has skipped over '2' and went straight for '3', Goat Simulator 3 is a significantly bigger, intentionally stupider and far more bombastic version of the original.
The biggest and most important difference between the two games is that Goat Simulator 3 has brought with it both online and local multiplayer! So rather than try to cause chaos all on your own, something that gets tiresome after a while since jokes are best shared with friends, you can now invite up to three players to join you on a co-op adventure or a tussle in a variety of mini-games.

[Update]: The heavily exploration focused Dragonflight expansion has now arrived, and so far it's looking quite good!
If you're itching to try out some of Dragonflight's new features like the improved flying mechanics and the new race/class combo, the Dracthyr Evoker, you'll be happy to hear that the World of Warcraft team has now unleashed the second phase of the pre-patch. Besides the new draconic race, the update has also brought with it a revamped version of the Uldaman dungeon, as well as a world-spanning invasion by the Primalists and their elemental lords.
By completing the new events you can acquire a variety of fancy gear, numerous cosmetics, as well as a brand new heirloom trinket. Thanks to the massive experience boost this is also a great time to level new characters, so if you're planning to switch mains or simply try something new in the Dragonflight expansion, this would be the ideal time to get your alts up to snuff.

As Path of Exile grew and expanded over the years, so did the complexity of its monsters and their special modifiers. This eventually culminated in the Archnemesis monsters that feature a bunch of different effects bundled under a single thematic name, with there being no real way other than trial and error to figure out what they actually do.
Because of this, fighting these types of monsters as an inexperienced player can frequently end up being an absolute nightmare. Sometimes their effects are weak and easy to ignore, sometimes they require you to get a special loot-focused character to finish the monster off in order to maximize the rewards, and sometimes their hidden effects are so flashy and numerous that you won't even be able to see what's happening, let alone dodge all of it. Needless to say, it's a bit of a mess.
