Battle for Azeroth footman vs grunt artwork

[Update]: World of Warcraft will soon start connecting low-population servers to more active ones.

If you've been using the auction house in World of Warcraft over the past few weeks, you've likely noticed that it becomes incredibly slow around peak hours. Sometimes the auction house can even get so overwhelmed it simply starts ignoring your inputs, making it so posting even a couple of potions can be a needlessly lengthy and tedious affair.

In order to address this, Blizzard has now essentially given players a 'budget' of auction house actions per minute, all with the intent to put a stop to addons submitting massive amounts of operations over and over again. From what I can tell the number of actions appears to be 25, so if you're a casual user, this shouldn't affect you in any real way.

[Update #2]: Deathloop has been delayed until September 14, 2021, again due to the pandemic.

[Update]: Due to the pandemic, Deathloop has been delayed until 2021.

If there is one thing that annoyed me with Dishonored, it would be the fact that most of your super-exciting abilities were geared towards combat - something the actual storyline heavily discouraged. As such, I am quite pleased to say that Bethesda has now announced Deathloop - a Dishonored inspired shooter where you're essentially stuck in a time loop and have to escape through the use of awesome-looking powers and good ol' fashioned guns!

Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll clue you in pretty quickly on just what Deathloop has to offer, as well as how close it truly is to Dishonored in terms of gameplay. Have a gander:

Torchlight 3 official artwork and logo

[Update]: After only a few months in Early Access, Torchlight 3 has now been unleashed onto PC and consoles.

Sometimes, releasing a game out of nowhere and with very little advertising can be a good thing. In the case of the freshly launched PC version of Persona 4 Golden, the sudden launch quickly resulted in a massive wave of excitement as both the port and the game itself are rock solid.

Unfortunately, this week was also marked with the exact opposite scenario. The long-awaited ARPG Torchlight 3 has just recently landed onto Steam Early Access with almost no fanfare, and soon enough got absolutely savaged by the user reviews.

[Update #2]: Rebellion has released a brief preview highlighting everything shown so far.

[Update]: Rebellion has now released a lengthy and highly detailed gameplay preview for Evil Genius 2!

Much like the original from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, the upcoming Evil Genius 2: World Domination is a satirical simulator about trying to take over the world through a variety of nefarious means. Expect to do dastardly things like building an evil lair, recruiting and training an assortment of disposable henchmen, 'politely' dealing with any sort of special agents that might want to unravel your plans, and most importantly of all, creating a giant death-ray or something equally ridiculous!

If you're curious what all of this nonsense looks like in actual gameplay, you'll be happy to hear that Rebellion has now released a fairly lengthy preview. Have a little peek:

Remnant: From the Ashes screenshot of flying Ratmen from Subject 2923 expansion

[Update #2]: Remnant II has now been unleashed, and so far it's looking quite good!

[Update]: Good news! Remnant: From the Ashes is getting a bigger and bolder sequel!

As I mentioned in my review, Remnant: From the Ashes is a pretty good game that has the potential to become genuinely amazing with just a few changes. All it really needs is more interesting boss fights, a wider variety of items and weapons to toy around with, as well as some more diverse content to explore.

With all of that in mind, I'm pleased to say that the newly announced (and sadly final) expansion Subject 2923 is looking to bring exactly that! Expect to see a brand new campaign that features two new worlds to explore, an assortment of massive bosses to tackle, and perhaps most importantly, a whole host of new weapons and modifications to help customize your playstyle. There will also be improvements to the Survival and Adventure mode, as well as brand new rewards to find throughout both modes.

ARK: Survival Evolved tek tier screenshot

If you ever wanted to play around with so many dinosaurs that the very concept of riding a raptor starts to sound a bit mundane, you might want to check out ARK: Survival Evolved as it's currently entirely free. Simply head on over to the Epic Games Store, grab yourself a copy, and you'll be able to play whenever you want.

As you might expect, there is a bit of a time limit to this giveaway. So if you're interested, do make sure to grab ARK: Survival Evolved before June 18th, as that's when it'll be replaced by Pathway and The Escapists 2.

Elite Dangerous screenshot of the new Fleet Carriers

If you're a fan of ridiculously large ships, you should definitely check out Elite Dangerous' newest update. As the title would suggest, the update has brought in the rather impressive-looking Fleet Carriers that can be tailored to support any play style, as well as offer a whole host of services like the ability to rearm, refuel and repair smaller ships on-the-go.

True to their name, the Fleet Carriers can host up to sixteen smaller ships, thus giving you a perfect platform to meet other players and explore the universe alongside good company. It also helps that the Fleet Carriers have a 500-light-year jump range, as well as pretty much everything you could possibly need already onboard, so once you get a good group going, you'll have very little reason to leave.

Persona 4 Golden artwork for PC version

[Update]: Remastered version of Persona 3 Portable has now made its way onto PC and consoles

The PC version of Persona 4 Golden was accidentally leaked a few days ago, so hearing that it has now been officially revealed shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. What might come as quite a shock, however, is that the Persona 4 Golden has now suddenly been released onto PC!

In terms of features, expect the remastered version to bring in support for variable framerates, as well as full HD visuals. There's also the usual assortment of Steam achievements and trading cards, and even the ability to choose between the Japanese and English voice acting, just in case you want to go full-on authentic.

Vermintide 2 screenshot of Grail Knight Kruber

[Update #2]: The Grail Knight has now arrived, and as expected, he's pretty darn fun to play.

[Update]: Fatshark has now revealed how Kruber became a Grail Knight alongside a spiffing new cinematic trailer!

It may have taken Fatshark quite a while, but it has finally happened - they are adding weather variations for maps! Once the next update arrives, all maps with outdoor areas will have a chance to feature different weather and lighting conditions, thus offering a slightly different experience with every single run.

There's even more good news on that front as Fatshark has now also revealed the very first new career for Vermitnide 2 - Grail Knight Kruber. The chivalrous Grail Knight will come with its own talent tree, new weapon types, new abilities, a whole new assortment of cosmetics, and hopefully a completely outrageous French accent!

Resident Evil 8: Village screenshot of the strange castle

[Update]: Resident Evil Village PC demo will be going live on May 1st!

During yesterday's "PS5 Future of Gaming" event Capcom finally gave everyone a small peek at the upcoming Resident Evil 8: Village. In a bit of a strange twist, Resident Evil 8 will feature Chris and Ethan as they survival-horror their way through a variety of monsters from European folklore, including what appear to be full-on werewolves!

But rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the freshly posted preview. There's not much in terms of actual gameplay on display, but it should still give you a pretty good idea of the sort of visual fidelity Cacpom is aiming for with Resident Evil 8. Have a gander:
