Overwatch Train Hopper artwork for McCree

[Update #2]: Overwatch update has brought in some excellent buffs for McCree, Orisa and Roadhog.

[Update]: Overwatch is improving the profanity filter, elevators and Reinhardt's ultimate.

With very low mobility and a heavy reliance on his team for support, the recent DPS nerf really hit McCree hard. Because of this, both his winrate and pickrate have plummeted across all ranks, which is a damn shame given how important his anti-flanker role is to the health of the game.

Thankfully, this will only be a temporary setback for McCree as a new experimental update has just arrived with a nice mobility buff in tow! The update has also beefed up Orisa, Roadhog and Baptiste, as well as given Ashe's dynamite its long-awaited nerf. Here's what exactly is being changed:

MTG Arena artwork for the Zendikar Rising Felidar Retreat card

[Update #2]: MTG Arena's viking themed expansion Kaldheim is launching on January 28, 2021.

[Update]: Two weeks after the previous ban, MTG Arena has now thrown out the dreaded Omnath.

If you're interested in giving MTG Arena a try, or simply looking to come back after a bit of an absence, this might be a pretty good time to do so. Not only has there been a set rotation that has seen four sets (Guilds of Ravnica, Ravnica Allegiance, War of the Spark and Core Set 2020) move from Standard to Historic, but a brand new expansion has just launched with nearly 300 new cards to mess around with!

The focus of the Zendikar Rising expansion is on five core mechanics, some universal and some belonging to specific color combinations. These would be the age-old effects like Mill (enemy discards cards from their library), Kicker (pay extra for extra benefits) and Landfall (effects trigger whenever your land enters the battlefield), as well as new mechanics like Party that require you to have a very D&D-like group of warriors, clerics, rogues and wizards in order to unlock special bonuses.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 official artwork without logo

Despite being announced quite a few years ago, Beyond Good & Evil 2 seems to be just as distant as it ever was. And with Michel Ancel, the man behind the whole series, now leaving the gaming industry, this naturally brought up a fair few concerns about the fate of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

In order to dispel these concerns, as well as let everyone know what's happening, Ubisoft has now released a brief development update. You can find the whole thing over at the Ubisoft website, but for now, here are the most interesting bits:

Cyberpunk 2077 artwork with logo

[Update #2]: The day has finally come, Cyberpunk 2077 has been unleashed!

[Update]: Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed yet again, this time until December 10, 2020.

After what feels like an eternity of waiting, Cyberpunk 2077 will finally be launching for PC and consoles this December 10th. So if you're looking to get some last-minutes upgrades for your PC in order to get Cyberpunk to run as best as it can, you'll be happy to hear that CDPR has now shared the system requirements.

A more detailed list will hopefully arrive at some point closer to Cyberpunk's release date, but for now, here's a fairly basic overview showing the minimum and recommended specs:

Total War: Troy's Amazons artwork of the two leaders

[Update]: Total War: Troy's Amazons DLC has now landed, and it's about as fun as you'd expect.

While this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise given how many times Creative Assembly has said the DLC will be coming in September, Total War: Troy's Amazons DLC has now been pinned for a September 24th release date. More importantly, the Amazons will be entirely free to grab for two weeks after launch!

In order to secure yourself a copy you'll need to create a Total War Access account and link it to your Epic Games Store account. While you're doing that, you might want to also grab a bunch of free content for the other Total War games, especially Total War: Warhammer 2 given that there's quite a few free DLCs squirreled away in there.

World of Warcraft's Shadowlands artwork for the Revendreth cinematic short

[Update #2]: The Shadowlands expansion will be launching for real this November 23rd!

[Update]: Blizzard has now detailed what's coming with the Shadowlands pre-patch.

Once World of Warcraft's Shadowlands expansion launches this October 27th, players will be able to ally themselves with one of four Covenants: the Kyrian of Bastion, the Necrolords of Maldraxxus, the Venthyr of Revendreth and the Night Fae of Ardenweald. Each of the Covenants will feature their own storyline and will offer players new abilities, talent-like effects, and naturally, fancy cosmetics.

So in order to help you figure out just where each of the Covenants stand, as well as what sort of trouble they'll need a bit of help with, Blizzard has now released four animated shorts highlighting just that. Have a gander, starting with my favorite - Revendreth:

Watch Dogs 2 screenshot of the crew at the table

If you've somehow managed to miss the previous two giveaways for Watch Dogs 2, yet you're still interested in giving it a try, you'll be happy to hear that the third one has now arrived! The good news doesn't end there, however, as Football Manager 2020 and the rather charming adventure game Stick It To The Man are also entirely free to grab!

To snag yourself a copy all you need to do is head on over to the Epic Games Store, log into your account or create a new one, and then add each game to your library. That's pretty much it. The only catch is that this giveaway will last until September 24th, so you might want to get yourself a copy before you forget about the whole thing.

Conan Exiles' Isle of Siptah expansion screenshot of demons attacking the player

[Update]: Conan Exiles' huge Update 3.0 has added corrupted magic, revamped perks and brought in a Battle Pass.

If you've delved through all of its dungeons and explored even its furthest corners, you might be interested to hear that Conan Exiles has now greatly expanded its world through the newly launched Isle of Siptah expansion. Siptah brings with it a large new island to explore, an assortment of demonic monstrosities to test your steel again, a whole bunch of new dungeons to strip for valuables, new building sets, and even a chunky new Rhino mount to ride around on.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this madness looks like in gameplay terms through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's not a very long one:

Battle for Azeroth artwork and logo

In order to give Battle for Azeroth a proper sendoff, Blizzard has recently added both a double experience and reputation event. The popularity of the former was guaranteed from the start, but it would appear that the reputation event was also a huge success given that Blizzard has now chosen to extend it all the way until the end of September!

Best of all, they have now expanded it to include the two most recent Patch 8.3 factions: Uldum Accord and Rajani! While I wouldn't recommend farming reputation with them in order to get their fancy Essences given that Shadowlands launches in October, this would still be a pretty good time to pick up some of the cosmetics you may have missed.

Valorant artwork showing off Jett

[Update #2]: Valorant is getting a chilly and zipline focused new map this October 13th - the Icebox.

[Update]: Valorant has now finally nerfed the incredibly potent Operator sniper rifle.

If you've been playing Valorant for any significant amount of time, then you've most likely ended up in a situation where you play one map over and over again. For me, the record is landing into Ascent five times in a row, while Bind appears so incredibly rarely I once got jump-scared by someone using the teleporter since I haven't heard that in an entire week!

Obviously, this sort of thing is not ideal, especially for a game with only four maps. As such, I am very happy to say that Riot has now made the map selection pseudo-random, and thus less likely to chuck you onto the same map over and over again. Naturally, since Valorant isn't a singleplayer game there's still a fair chance you'll see repeats, but it should definitely be a lot better than before.
