Overwatch artwork for McCree

[Update]: Overwatch's Halloween Terror 2020 event has arrived alongside an assortment of awesome cosmetics, as well as the Soldier 76 weapon rework!

If you're a fan of McCree, I have both good and bad news. The good is that he's now finally received some buffs in order to compensate for the constant nerfs to his damage output, while the bad news is that the proposed combat roll buff that would have him soar through the air like an acrobat did not go through. Unfortunate, but I suppose it didn't really fit McCree's character.

Besides the tweaks to McCree, this newest update has brought in some excellent buffs for Orisa and Roadhog, a relatively small buff to Baptiste, as well as an equally small nerf to Ashe. Here's the full list of changes:

Ashe

Ashe is still a bit too powerful, but we'd like to keep her rifle feeling impactful so we're taking some power out of her Dynamite ability.

Dynamite

- Explosion damage reduced from 75 to 50

Baptiste

Baptiste generates a majority of his ultimate charge through area-of-effect healing. As we reduced area healing values recently, we're also scaling down the cost of his ultimate.

 Amplification Matrix

- Ultimate cost decreased 15%

McCree

After scaling down the damage output of McCree's primary fire, we're looking to give back a bit of power through improvements to his abilities.

 Combat Roll

- Distance increased 20%

 Flashbang

- Stun duration increased from 0.7 to 0.8 seconds

Orisa

Increased projectile speed will help Orisa’s weapon feel more responsive, reducing the need to lead targets. We found that recent adjustments to Orisa’s abilities were more impactful than we originally anticipated and have increased her armor to compensate.

Base armor increased from 200 to 250

 Fusion Driver

- Projectile speed increased from 90 to 120

Roadhog

After the last round of shotgun improvements, Roadhog's Chain Hook combo still wasn't effective against some of the smaller enemy heroes. This change pulls targets closer to melee range for swifter, more reliable combo execution.

 Chain Hook

- Now pulls targets 0.5 meters closer (3.5 meters down to 3.0 meters)

Like I said when these changes were first going through the Experimental mode, I'm pretty happy with what Blizzard has cooked up here. They've buffed Roadhog without making him oppressive against tanks, made Orisa more action-orientated rather than reverting her shield back to its old state, and best of all, Ashe is being nerfed in such a way that doesn't make her immediately become non-viable in higher ranked games.

So if Blizzard can continue this streak, I have a feeling Overwatch might just get properly balanced in the near future! Well, until Overwatch 2 to comes and throws a big ol' wrench into everything again!

Once the next update arrives I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you should also check out the Comic Book Tracer challenge while it's still around. Enjoy!
