[Update]: Twelve years after the original, the PC version of Spelunky 2 has now been unleashed!

Spelunky 2 was originally supposed to arrive in 2019, but it would appear that the estimate was a bit overambitious. According to the latest announcement, Spelunky 2's release date has now been pushed back to 2020, though no exact date has been given just yet.

"Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to get to release Spelunky 2 this year," reads the brief update. "Development is still going well and we're not far off target, but the density and detail of the game is demanding more time."

Official artwork for the puzzle-platformer Fez

If you're looking to take a break from all of the action and play something that's a bit more relaxed, you might be glad to hear that the indie puzzle-platformer Fez is currently free to grab. Simply head on over to the Epic Games Store, go through the brief 'purchasing' process, and you'll be flinging yourself straight into pits in no time.

As always with these types of giveaways, there is a bit of a time limit you'll need to watch out for. In other words, just make sure to grab Fez before August 29th, after which you'll be able to play it whenever you want.

[Update #2]: Slay the Spire's fourth character The Watcher has now finally been released in full, and unsurprisingly, she's pretty fun to play around with!

[Update]: Slay the Spire's fourth character The Watcher is now playable in the Steam Beta.

After spending a considerable amount of time porting Slay the Spire to various platforms, the developers have recently announced that they are once again working on brand new content. More specifically, a free DLC containing a playable fourth character!

That's not where the good news ends, however, as the new character is a lot closer than you might imagine. According to the latest Steam update, the fourth character will be heading into beta testing on September 9th!

[Update #2]: Three years after launch, Dicey Dungeons has just added a chunky free DLC - Reunion.

[Update]: Dicey Dungeons Patch 1.9 has improved mod support, added new rules, and fixed over 200 bugs!

If you're up for a roguelike game that's a little bit out of the ordinary, you might want to check out the newly released Dicey Dungeons. As the name itself would imply, the entire game revolves around dice and dice rolls, to the point that even the main characters themselves are sentient dice!

However, despite every single facet of Dicey Dungeons being dominated by random dice rolls, I am both surprised and pleased to say that the actual gameplay is quite strategic. Sure, you'll still have to deal with a constant stream of random numbers, but through various abilities and items it is entirely possible to mitigate the randomness and execute whatever strategy you have going for you.

[Update]: Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy is aiming to be bigger, better and bolder than all of its predecessors.

After a somewhat disappointing Trine 3, the puzzle-platformer series will be returning this October 8th for both PC and consoles. It'll bring with it a whole bunch of beautiful artwork spread across a variety of 2.5D levels, online and local co-op for up to four players, a newly enhanced combat system, and naturally, more environmental puzzles to endlessly cheese with the wizard character!

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in-game through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, the artwork really is lovely:

Mutant Year Zero screenshot of Big Khan in the distance

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is an XCOM-inspired, turn-based RPG that released in 2018. While it did have some noticeable problems due to its mid-budget origins, they weren't exactly hard to overlook as the actual gameplay and cast of colorful characters proved to be pretty fun to mess around with.

So if you're a fan of the genre and you're looking for something new to sink your teeth into, you might be interested to hear that Mutant Year Zero has just now received its very first expansion - Seed of Evil. It brings with it Big Khan the moose as a brand new character, a bunch of new plant-infested enemies, new weapons and abilities to toy around with, and naturally, a continuation of the original's storyline.

[Update #2]: Slay the Spire's fourth character The Watcher has now finally been released in full, and unsurprisingly, she's pretty fun to play around with!

[Update]: Slay the Spire's fourth character The Watcher is now playable in the Steam Beta.

Slay the Spire developers have been fairly busy with various ports over the past few months, so things have been fairly quiet as far as new features are concerned. However, while the details are still few and far between, I am glad to say that Mega Crit Games are working on something pretty exciting!

As you might guess from the title alone, that something is a brand new and completely free DLC character, making it the fourth to eventually join the roster. What exactly this character might be or when it's set to arrive, the developers unfortunately haven't shared just yet.

[Update]: Oxygen Not Included's very first expansion Spaced Out! has now arrived.

After spending two eventful years in Steam Early Access, Klei Entertainment's colony management sim Oxygen Not Included has now finally released in full. Best of all, it ended up being pretty darn fun, though this probably won't come as a surprise to many of you given that it's a heavily survival-focused game from the studio behind Don't Starve!

As for what exactly Oxygen Not Included has to offer, allow me to share with you the recently posted trailer. It's not exactly in-depth, though it does take place in a variety of caverns and showcases just what kind of nonsense Oxygen Not Included is all about. Have a little look:

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus expansion official artwork without logo

If you've completed everything Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus has to offer and you're itching for more, you might be interested to hear that its very first expansion Heretek has now arrived. However, while there is a good chunk of new content to toy around with, it is worth mentioning that the Heretek expansion is more similar to a DLC in scope.

As far as the new content is concerned, the Heretek expansion has brought with it a new Discipline that specializes in using alien technology, as well as two new alien weapons to really bring down the hurt upon your enemies. There's also two new troops to command, Sicarian Infiltrators and Ruststalkers, as well as five new missions set in the freshly introduced Ark Mechanicus environment.

GORN official artwork and logo

GORN, as you might imagine from its name alone, is a ridiculously over-the-top and brutal VR game about gladiatorial combat. To put it even more simply, it's all about taking a variety of weapons that liter the arena, and then using said weapons to bludgeon or slice your way through hordes of enemies!

If that sounds like the sort of nonsense you might enjoy, you'll be glad to hear that GORN has now finally released from Steam Early Access. Here's what you can expect to see from the release version:
