Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York official screenshot of the dialogue

[Update]: If you're in the mood for more vampire themed RPGs, then you might also want to check out the newly announced Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong.

Much like its predecessor, Coteries of New York, the newly announced Shadows of New York will be a visual novel set in the rather fascinating Vampire: The Masquerade universe. It'll act as a standalone expansion to Coteries of New York, and while there will be reoccurring characters, you'll be able to fully enjoy it without any former knowledge.

As for the story, you will play as a member of the Lasombra clan that's tasked with investigating the murder of New York's Anarch leader. Needless to say, the whole thing is a trap and absolutely riddled with vampire politics, so weaving your way through all of the madness and staying alive will be just as important as figuring out who the killer is.

[Update #2]: Deep Rock Galactic update has added two new mission types and a bunch of cosmetics.

[Update]: The first post-launch update has added a new boss-like enemy, three secondary objectives, and a whole bunch of bug fixes.

It's only been a short while since Deep Rock Galactic released from Steam Early Access, and already Ghost Ship Games have come out to announce their plans for the future. As you might expect given how they treated the game throughout Early Access, these plans include quite a few free updates!

This June we'll be getting Update 31 that will add three new secondary mission objectives, all in an effort to spice up the gameplay. There will also be a brand new bestiary addition that details all of the enemies and their weaknesses, as well as new shapes in the caves to make each biome more distinct.

Poly Bridge 2 official artwork and logo

[Update]: Poly Bridge 2 has now ramped its way onto Steam.

If you're up for realizing just how poor of an architect you'd truly be, as well as just how tricky building bridges that don't spontaneously combust really is, you'll be glad to hear that the bridge-building simulator Poly Bridge 2 is nearly upon us. In fact, it's practically around the corner as it'll be releasing this May 28th!

Much like its predecessor, Poly Bridge 2 will task you with solving a wide variety of bridge-related puzzles, most revolving around trying to keep insane drivers from embedding their car directly into the bottom of the riverbed. While things are likely to start off easy, soon enough you'll be creating elaborate support structures, death-defying ramps, and when everything else fails, ramshackle bridges that are barely good enough for even one car to pass through!

Terraria artwork for the Journey's End expansion

[Update #2]: Two years after its 'final' expansion, Terraria's is getting the chunky quality-of-life focused Labor of Love update in late September 2022.

[Update]: In a bit of an unexpected announcement, Terraria and Don't Starve have just launched a big cross-over event!

All good things must come to an end, and so today Terraria will receive its final update. However, Terraria won't be going out with a whimper as the upcoming Journey's End expansion is absolutely ridiculous in scope.

Expect to see around 800 new items to find or craft, a whole host of new enemies and bosses to throw yourself against, a greatly improved world generation system, and even an enhanced weather system. There will also a couple of new mini-biomes, a new difficulty mode that will pose a true challenge to even veterans, and perhaps most importantly of all, the ability to both play golf and create your own courses!

Rock of Ages 3 screenshot of complete nonsense

[Update]: Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break has now rolled onto PC and consoles.

Rock of Ages 3, much like its predecessors, is a bit of a strange hybrid between a tower defense strategy and an arcadey 'smash everything with a giant rock' game, all held together with some distinctly Monty Python inspired humor. A truly bizarre combination, but also a pretty fun one to mess around with!

If that kind of nonsense sounds like it could be right up your alley, I'm afraid I have a little bit of a bad news. Due to the ongoing pandemic and the developers working from home, Rock of Ages 3 has now been pushed back from its original June 2nd release date.

[Update]: Ghost Ship Games have now detailed their plans for post-launch updates.

After a whole assortment of quality updates and improvements over the course of its Early Access stay, Deep Rock Galactic has now finally dug its way to the surface. So if you're a fan of co-op games, or just mining through tons and tons of alien-infested caverns in search of shiny metals, you should definitely give Deep Rock Galactic a closer look.

Speaking of which, you can get a pretty good impression of what Deep Rock Galactic has to offer through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, it's a short but sweet one... and no, that's not a Dwarf joke!

Cassette Beasts screenshot of the 2v2 battle system

[Update]: Cassette Beasts has now been unleashed alongside a lengthy, free demo.

It may have taken quite a while, but I'm still more than happy that we're now finally getting some rather interesting Pokemon-inspired games. Temtem has only just recently launched into Early Access, and already we have the announcement of the somewhat strange yet highly creative Cassette Beasts.

Besides the bizarre novelty of transforming into monsters through the use of oldschool cassette tapes, what really sets Cassette Beasts apart is the ability to fuse together literally every single combination of monsters. So not only is there a whole bunch of abilities and elemental weaknesses to worry about in the base set, but there's also a sizable amount of 'hidden' monsters to experiment with. A pretty cool concept, I have to admit!

Children of Morta official artwork and logo

[Update]: Children of Morta will be adding online co-op with its final update!

Quite a few months after its original release, the indie roguelike RPG Children of Morta has now received a rather solid update. The biggest new feature, as the title would suggest, is the New Game Plus mode. It allows you to keep previously unlocked characters, progression and resources, all the while greatly increasing the difficulty in order provide a fresh and interesting experience.

Besides combat itself, the Setting Sun Inn update has also brought in a variety of new cutscenes, events and quests. These additions range from those that are merely atmospheric and help you form a bond with the characters, to those that further the story and sometimes even offer new rewards to toy around with. Naturally, all of these events will be available in both the normal and New Game Plus modes.

Delores: A Thimbleweed Park Mini-Adventure official artwork

While it originally started off as a prototype for Ron Gilbert’s new point-and-click adventure game engine, Delores: A Thimbleweed Park Mini-Adventure has slowly grown into an actual game - a small spin-off game that doesn't have the usual polish you might expect from a fully fledged title, but a fun little game regardless.

Because of its humble origins, Delores is entirely made out of art and animations found in the previously released Thimbleweed Park. However, while its visuals may be the same, Delores contains all-new puzzles and storylines to discover. So if you're a fan of Thimbleweed Park, or point-and-click adventure games in general, Delores should be a nice, bite-sized experience.

Streets of Rage 4 official artwork and logo

[Update]: Streets of Rage 4's very first DLC "Mr. X Nightmare" is adding new characters, weapons and game mode.

It has been quite a while since Streets of Rage 3, but I'm glad to say that the series has now finally made a reappearance with the newly launched Streets of Rage 4. Much like it's predecessor, Streets of Rage 4 is a stylish beat 'em up where you and (hopefully) a couple of friends go wander around kicking the everliving daylight out of an assortment of over-the-top baddies.

As for what exactly this kind of action might look like in gameplay terms, that you will find out through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander:
