The Overwatch Closed Beta Will Be Shutting Down Next Week

While this news shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone, I'm afraid to say that the Overwatch closed beta will be shutting down on April 25 in order to allow Blizzard enough time to prepare for the official launch.
This information comes from the latest Overwatch Developer Update in which Jeff Kaplan does a Christopher, Walken, impression, and shares some more information on what the Overwatch team is currently doing, as well as what the post-launch updates will bring. Have a look:
Free Rambo: The Video Game DLC Is Coming Today

I'll be perfectly honest, before seeing this announcement I didn't even know there was a Rambo video game out there, and after doing even a tiny bit of research on it I can see exactly why that was case... its just not very good.
However, the developers are well aware of their less-than stellar reputation, and have decided to release a free piece of DLC two years after the original launch of Rambo: The Video Game both as a much needed content update, as well as an apology to all of the Rambo fans that may have gotten burned. Here's the trailer and what exactly Baker Team brings to the table:
World Of Warcraft: Legion Will Release In August

- in News
If you thought the current content drought in World of Warcraft is annoying, I'm afraid I bring some bad news as World of Warcraft: Legion is set to release on August 30, which means everyone gets to enjoy the colors red and green for over a year without anything to break the monotony.
On the positive side, those that pre-order WoW: Legion ($50) will gain access to an instant level 100 boost, as well as early access to the Demon Hunter class prior to the expansion's release, though the date on which they will become available hasn't been announced yet.

Hitman's Paris level has been available for a bit over a month now, and while its an expertly crafted map filled with tons of ways to mess up execute your plans, I do believe the majority of players are now ready for a breath of fresh air.
And thankfully such a thing is coming in the near future as the Mediterranean 'Sapienza' expansion arrives on April 26. Here's the trailer, and a couple of newly released screenshots:
Dark Souls 3 Is Bandai Namco America's Fastest Selling Game Ever, Currently Nr.1 In The UK Market
- By Ash
- in News
In a bit of news that pleases me greatly, Bandai Namco America has announced that Dark Souls 3 is the fastest selling game in the company's history, and to top it all off, its also the current champion on the UK weekly sales chart, followed by The Division, and EA's UFC.
To celebrate such an achievement Bandai Namco has released a brand new Dark Souls 3 trailer, this time around with music that actually matches the tone of the Souls series! Do be warned however, there are some minor boss spoilers in there as well, so if you want to have a 'pure' playthrough I'd suggest averting your eyes... or simply not clicking the play button:
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst Closed Beta Starts Soon, 'Multiplayer' Elements Detailed
- By Ash
- in News
The good news is that the closed beta for Mirror's Edge: Catalyst begins on April 22 and lasts all the way until April 26. The bad news, however, is that the closed beta sign-ups are now, well... closed, and only those that signed up for the Mirror's Edge 'Frontrunner service' (a fancy name for a newsletter) will be eligible to join this phase of the beta.
While the closed beta will only feature a couple of main and side missions, the social play features such as time trials, races, and various others should in theory provide plenty of replayability. Here's a brief DICE video explaining the whole concept of social play and how the multiplayer features will work:
World Of Warcraft Vanilla Team Lead Will Personally Send Mike Morhaime A Message If The Nostalrius Petition Reaches 200,000 Signatures
- By Ash
- in News
Earlier this week the most popular Vanilla World of Warcraft server Nostalrius was shut down by Blizzard, a decision that did not go over well with the its immensely loyal following of old WoW veterans. Instead of the issue blowing over in a couple of days like Blizzard most likely expected, it has been gaining steam with numerous online personalities coming out and publicly supporting the petition for legacy World of Warcraft servers.
And to add even further fuel to the fire, or perhaps a stick of dynamite in this case, the Vanilla World of Warcraft team lead Mark Kern came out and stated that he would personally send a message to Mike Morhaime if the legacy petition reaches 200,000 signatures. Here's the full quote:
