Overwatch 2's Season 3 has arrived with a new map, Workshop Editor, new cosmetic-focused currency and many balance changes

[Update #2]: Overwatch 2 has launched a One-Punch Man crossover event alongside a small balance update.

[Update]: The Overwatch 2 dating sim Loverwatch has now been unleashed, and it's actually quite charming!.

Unlike the previous two seasons, Overwatch 2's freshly launched Season 3 doesn't bring with it a brand new hero. Instead Blizzard has used this opportunity to release a whole bunch of quality-of-life changes and bug fixes, a brand new Control map by the name of Antarctic Peninsula, the Workshop Editor and its accompanying custom game modes, as well as pave the way for a whole host of events that will be going live throughout the season, including a One-Punch Man crossover and even a dating sim!

Speaking of new additions, the most important one is the introduction of Overwatch Credits that can be used to purchase most of the old cosmetics, along with a couple of new ones. You can get 1500 credits for free each season, which is slightly more than what you'll need for a legendary skin, and an additional 500 through the premium Battle Pass.

[Update]: Darktide's big Crafting and Progression update has now arrived with far more improvements than expected!

It took a little while for us to get here, but thankfully it looks like Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's updates will now be coming out at a nice and steady pace. Case in point, it's only been a little over a week since the last one, and already Update 1.0.25 has arrived with a sizable batch of changes!

First and foremost, the Psyker's Warp Charges have been both slightly reworked and buffed. They will now fall of gradually instead of all at once, they'll increase your damage by 4% per charge instead of only 3%, Brain Burst's damage and stagger values have been increased by 10%, and last but not least, the Cerebral Lacerations talent now increases the damage enemies take by 25% whenever they're hit by a Brain Burst!

[Update #2]: MTG Arena's next Standard expansion March of the Machine is coming this April 18th with a new "Battle" card type.

[Update]: The Alchemy: Phyrexia mini-set has now arrived alongside the ability to select favorite lands & card styles.

After a fairly lengthy round of teasers and previews, MTG Arena's latest Standard set Phyrexia: All Will be One has now been unleashed. It brings with it 261 new cards to play around with, ten new planeswalkers of which five have been compleated, as well as reprints of some fan-favorite cards like Phyrexian Obliterator and Phyrexian Arena.

As for the actual mechanics, it should come as little surprise to hear that the Phyrexian side of the set is once again focused around poison counters and proliferation. In sharp contrast to them, the Mirran rebellion is all about using fancy weapons that come pre-equipped onto token creatures in order to smash their way to victory.

[Update #2]: The Overwatch 2 dating sim Loverwatch has now been unleashed, and it's actually quite charming!.

[Update]: The big Season 3 patch has now arrived, and with it a whole bunch of quality-of-life improvements.

In order to help Season 3 stand out despite not adding any new heroes, Blizzard has now announced a whole suite of events and updates. Some of these are classic events that bring with them a new game mode and a couple of themed challenges, while others are a bit more... unique.

The most interesting of these is the Loverwatch Dating Sim which will be running from February 13-28. This will be a text-based dating sim that will have you attempt to romance either Mercy or Genji while assisted by Cupid who looks suspiciously like Hanzo. Besides being a fun little novelty, unlocking the secret ending in Loverwatch will grant you a themed POTG highlight!

If you were looking forward to diving into Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key this February 24th, I'm afraid you're out of luck. I say this because Keoi Tecmo have just announced that the release date has now been pushed back a full month - all the way to March 24th, 2023.

"We apologize for this delay to everyone who has been looking forward to the release of Atelier Ryza 3," reads the brief developer update. "In order to make this game a fitting finale for Ryza and her friends, we have taken on challenges such as adventuring in a vast open field and graphics that express the charm of these characters to the fullest extent."

Overwatch 2's Season 3 will bring back the Workshop and complex Custom Games, while Season 4 will remove the unpopular Map Pools

[Update #2]: The big Season 3 patch has now arrived, and with it a whole bunch of quality-of-life improvements.

[Update]: Overwatch 2 devs have now revealed the full Season 3 Roadmap, including a Dating Sim event!

After the somewhat shaky first two seasons, it looks like the Overwatch 2 team is pulling out all the stops for Seasons 3 and 4! As such you can look forward to major matchmaking improvements, a brand new Control map called Antarctic Peninsula, the return of freely earned Credits that can be used to purchase old cosmetics, the removal of seasonal rank resets, and naturally, some sizable balance updates to shake up the meta and perhaps even rework problematic heroes like Roadhog.

The good news doesn't end there, however, as Blizzard has now decided to add two more announcements onto the pile! First and foremost, the Overwatch 2 Workshop and its accompanying custom games will be returning in Season 3. The exact details have not been shared just yet, but given how long the Workshop was missing I can only hope it's going to relaunch with a bunch of new features that will pave the way for bigger and more elaborate custom games than ever before.

Despite trying some interesting new ideas, it sadly looks like the Brawler and Battle Royale hybrid Rumbleverse has not managed to garner enough of a playerbase to warrant further development. As such, developer Iron Galaxy has now announced that the Rumbleverse servers will be shutting down on February 28th, 2023.

"This project has been a labor of love to create a new experience in a popular and highly competitive genre for games," reads the developer update. "If you’ve been a part of that journey, we thank you – whether you jumped into the first playtest after our reveal, or just shot yourself out of the cannon for the first time."
