[Update #2]: The Overwatch 2 dating sim Loverwatch has now been unleashed, and it's actually quite charming!.

[Update]: The big Season 3 patch has now arrived, and with it a whole bunch of quality-of-life improvements.

In order to help Season 3 stand out despite not adding any new heroes, Blizzard has now announced a whole suite of events and updates. Some of these are classic events that bring with them a new game mode and a couple of themed challenges, while others are a bit more... unique.

The most interesting of these is the Loverwatch Dating Sim which will be running from February 13-28. This will be a text-based dating sim that will have you attempt to romance either Mercy or Genji while assisted by Cupid who looks suspiciously like Hanzo. Besides being a fun little novelty, unlocking the secret ending in Loverwatch will grant you a themed POTG highlight!

If you prefer a bit of violence for Valentine's Day, there will also be an Ultimate Valentine’s Event running from February 14-28. Expect to see a Hanzo 4v4 limited time mode, as well as a variety of support themed challenges that will let you unlock two epic quality skins, among other prizes.

Additionally, from February 7-21 you'll be able to help your World Cup team advance in the leaderboards by simply playing any of the main game modes like Quick or Competitive Play. Once the dust settles and a winner has been decided, they'll then cooperate with Blizzard to design a brand new cosmetic skin. Whether those that supported the team will be able to get it for free or if it will be a paid purchase, that still remains to be seen.

Overwatch 2 One-Punch Man crossover skin Saitama Doomfist

Moving forward, from March 7 - April 6 Overwatch 2 will be hosting its very first crossover event with none other than One-Punch Man! As you might expect, the event will bring with it a whole bunch of new cosmetics to acquire, including a Saitama skin for Doomfist. Most of these will be in the in-game store, though one of the legendary tier skins will be earnable through themed challenges.

You won't have a lot of time to rest in March, because the PachiMarchi Returns event will be going live before the One-Punch Man crossover has even ended. PachiMarchi Returns will run from March 21 - April 4 and will let you loose on a new limited-time game mode, all in an effort to snag a bunch of new cosmetics like the PachiMarchi Roadhog skin.

Should any more events get revealed, or the Overwatch 2 announces a particularly juicy set of balance changes, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, I'll leave you with the Season 3 trailer. Enjoy!
