[Update]: Darktide's big Crafting and Progression update has now arrived with far more improvements than expected!

It took a little while for us to get here, but thankfully it looks like Warhammer 40,000: Darktide's updates will now be coming out at a nice and steady pace. Case in point, it's only been a little over a week since the last one, and already Update 1.0.25 has arrived with a sizable batch of changes!

First and foremost, the Psyker's Warp Charges have been both slightly reworked and buffed. They will now fall of gradually instead of all at once, they'll increase your damage by 4% per charge instead of only 3%, Brain Burst's damage and stagger values have been increased by 10%, and last but not least, the Cerebral Lacerations talent now increases the damage enemies take by 25% whenever they're hit by a Brain Burst!

When it comes to the Ogryn, most of their buffs are centered around the weapons themselves. As such, you can look forward to a greatly improved Kickback, as well as slightly improved versions of the Ripper Gun, Cleaver and Bully Club. So if you have a decent Kickback lying around your closet somewhere, this would be a pretty good time to whip it out as it's apparently quite a bit of fun now!

And funnily enough, the Veteran has also received a subtle yet massive buff despite being the best class in the game. Counterfire, the talent that highlights enemy shooters and increases your weakspot damage, apparently didn't work before. So not only did Fatshark now fix the talent, they added an additional 25% bonus damage to it! If you have a Veteran, I'd highly recommend going on a mad power trip over the next week or two because there is no chance this is going to avoid the nerf-hammer in the following update.

When it comes to the Zealot, I'm afraid I have a bit of bad news. The incredibly popular crit build has been hit by a significant nerf. The Faith Restored talent now only gives you 50% toughness damage reduction instead of 75% when landing a crit, which might not sound like much, but given how melee damage works in Darktide it's going to result in a lot more damage bleed-through to your health than before.

You can read the full list of balance changes, as well as the accompanying bug fixes, over at the official forums.

Once the next big update arrives, I'll make sure to let you know. Chances are it'll be later this week as Fatshark is currently working on releasing a developer blog on some of the more controversial features like Crafting, Sire Melk’s Requisitorium and the Armoury.
