[Update #2]: Many years after being canceled, Vermintide 2's PvP Versus mode is coming back.
[Update]: Vermintide 2's upcoming Winds of Magic expansion is already playable for those that have pre-ordered!
Out of all the potential features for Vermintide 2, the one I've seen the most excitement for has definitely been the Versus mode. So much so that there was even a community mod in the works that intended to make it the whole thing a reality!
However, while the mod unfortunately ended up getting canceled early on due to technical reasons, I am delighted to say that the PvP dream is not dead as Fatshark has now announced an official version - a fully-fledged 4v4 Versus mode! Here's a small teaser of what it looks like in-game:
Cyberpunk 2077's E3 cinematic shows off the darker side of the storyline

[Update #2]: Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed once more - this time until November.
[Update]: Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed until September 17th in order to ensure the developers get enough time to polish everything up.
Do you remember Cyberpunk 2077's extremely lengthy gameplay demo from 2018? It was a fairly lengthy affair, and thankfully the quest ended up having a pretty happy ending as the presenter was rather sneaky and did just about everything correctly.
However, have you ever wondered how bad things could possibly get if you messed up just about everything you could during one of these quests? Well, wonder no more as the recently posted cinematic trailer is all about a job that has gone oh so very wrong. Have a look, it's a pretty good trailer:
FromSoftware and George R.R. Martin are working on a new action RPG - Elden Ring

[Update #2]: According to FromSoftware's newest developer update, Elden Ring has been pushed back to February 25, 2022.
[Update]: Elden Ring will be tackling open world exploration in a very Zelda-like fashion once it releases in early 2022.
When it comes to video games, there are three things I genuinely love to see: an interesting world to explore, some solid combat mechanics, as well as plenty of challenging encounters to make me actually learn and utilize every trick and combo the game has to offer. So you can imagine how big of a smile I had when I heard that FromSoftware, the developers behind Dark Souls and Sekiro, have teamed up with the legendary George R.R. Martin to create a brand new action RPG called Elden Ring!
The details are still few and far between, but you can get a pretty good idea of the sort of atmosphere the Elden Ring is going for through the recently posted trailer. Have a gander, it's certainly an intriguing one:
Apex Legends has greatly increased the 'circle' damage in Elite Queue to prevent camping

[Update]: Respawn has now once again tweaked the out-of-circle damage.
Apex Legends' most recent update has brought in numerous bug fixes and balance changes, a variety of challenges and cosmetics, as well as the very first time-limited mode - the Elite Queue. As you might expect given the name, the Elite Queue only allows those that have been Top 5 in the previous game to queue up, after which they need to once again achieve Top 5 status in order to continue playing in Elite Queue.
While certainly a fun new mode to mess around with, especially when you have a couple of friends at your side, the Elite Queue does have one massive problem - camping. After all, if the entire goal is to survive until you're one of the last five squads remaining, why would you risk losing your streak by doing silly things like fighting enemies or leaving your fortified little house?
Borderlands 2 has just added a hefty free DLC to help bridge the gap with Borderlands 3

If for whatever reason you thought that Borderlands 2 just didn't have enough content to mess around with, I'm sure you'll be glad to hear that Gearbox has now released a hefty new (and free) DLC! The goal behind the new Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary DLC, as you might imagine, is to bridge the gap between Borderlands 2 and 3 in order to help you get a feel for the new story.
In terms of gameplay, expect to see a couple of new areas to explore, a metric ton of loot to acquire (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary), new enemies to blast straight in the face, as well as an increased level cap to make your end-game characters even more ridiculously overpowered. Best of all, the DLC has also brought with it the ability to instantly boost a character to level 30, so if you haven't played in a while or if you're brand new, you won't have to go through the entire campaign before trying out the new content!
The Outer Worlds' E3 trailer gives off some heavy Fallout: New Vegas vibes

[Update]: The Outer Worlds is coming to Steam on October 23, 2020.
While Fallout 3 and 4 are certainly fun games, and ones that I've replayed a couple of times each, it is Fallout: New Vegas that I feel is the very best of the modern trilogy. It's a bit clunky and the gunplay isn't as good as Fallout 4's, sure, but Fallout: New Vegas really excels when it comes to the RPG elements and world-building, both things I value quite heavily!
With that in mind, I hope you can realize just how happy I am to say that the upcoming RPG The Outer Worlds seems to be following in Fallout: New Vegas' footsteps, just with more interesting combat and weapons! Here's what all of it looks like in-game:
Path of Exile's Legion update has now arrived with a massive overhaul of melee combat
- By Ash
- in News
If you ever gave up on Path of Exile because of how slow and cumbersome the early-game melee combat is, you might want to give it a second chance now that the Legion update has arrived. It has not only rebalanced a whole host of melee skills, but it has also greatly improved how they function, how powerful they feel, and perhaps most importantly of all, how much set-up they need before they're truly fun to mess around with.
The Legion update has also enhanced the AI some of the early-game creatures and bosses in order to make them easier to predict and a bit more interesting to fight. While a minor improvement to early-game content, it is worth mentioning that these monsters make a frequent appereance in the end-game map system as well, which is where these fairness-focused changes will see the biggest impact.
