Amnesia: Rebirth official artwork and logo

[Update #2]: Amnesia: Rebirth has now been unleashed for PC and PS4, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty much the original game with new content and a few extra bells and whistles.

[Update]: Amnesia: Rebirth's preview offers a closer look at the story and otherworldly environments.

Quite a few years have gone by since the original Amnesia, so if you're feeling an itch for some psychological horror, you'll be happy to hear that the sequel is just around the corner. To be more specific, Amnesia: Rebirth will be launching this October 20th on Steam, GOG, Epic Game Store and PlayStation 4.

As for what exactly Amnesia: Rebirth has to offer, and it how it even improves upon its excellent predecessor, that you can find out through the recent and fairly lengthy gameplay preview. Have a peek:

Unsurprisingly, Amnesia: Rebirth looks like it's a newer, smoother and prettier version of the original classic. For me, given that Amnesia is one of the very few games I had to actively take breaks from due to all of the pent up stress, that's a very good thing indeed! And considering how much Frictional Games have learned from SOMA and it's post-launch updates, I really do have high hopes for Amnesia: Rebirth.

Once Amnesia: Rebirth goes live I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, if you have any sort of interest in game development, you might want to check out the newly released source code for both of the previous Amnesia games!
