[Update]: It looks like Fortnite will be making the 'no building' mode a permanent addition!

Whatever madness caused the recent trend in rapidly increasing install sizes now thankfully appears to be subsiding. Not only has Call of Duty finally allowed PC players to cut off at least a little bit of Modern Warfare's 200+ GB file size, but Fortnite has now brought in even greater savings.

As a part of the freshly launched Update 14.40, Fortnite has implemented a variety of optimizations in order to not only reduce the install size on PC, but also improve the loading times. And the savings really are massive as Fortnite's file size has now been reduced by approximately 60GB!

[Update #2]: Frictional Games's next horror game will be a non-linear sandbox set in a desolate WW1 bunker.

[Update]: Amnesia: Rebirth's new Adventure Mode replaces otherworldly horror with puzzles.

If you're in the mood for adding a lot more stress and mental anguish into your life, albeit in a fun way, you'll be happy to hear that Amnesia: Rebirth has now finally been unleashed. Much like the original classic, Amnesia: Rebirth is all about exploring a highly atmospheric environment in search of answers, avoiding an assortment of spooky specters, and doing your very best to avoid freaking yourself out despite nothing scary happening just yet.

Since you can't exactly describe a horror game through words alone, allow me to also share with you the recently posted gameplay trailer. It should give you a pretty good idea of just what Amnesia: Rebirth is trying to accomplish. Have a peek:

[Update]: It took a while, but Digimon Survive has now finally been released!

This entire year has been a bit of a mess, so it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to hear that yet another game has now been delayed. This time around we're talking about the strategy-focused RPG Digimon Survive. Instead of launching in late 2020 as previously announced, it has now been pushed back until 2021, with no exact release date announced just yet.

"The Digimon Survive team would like to extend our thanks to fans from around the world for their support during development, especially in these difficult times," reads the brief developer update. "We had originally planned to launch Digimon Survive in 2020 but current world events have shifted our development timing and we have made the difficult decision to push Digimon Survive's launch to 2021."

Much like Anthem, the recently launched Marvel's Avengers has run into quite a few problems with its endgame. Not only does the combat get very repetitive very quickly due to a lack of enemy diversity, but there's also problems with the loot being unexciting and the endgame boss fights more tedious than anything else.

In order to address some of these issues, as well as let the community know what's happening, Crystal Dynamics have now released a lengthy developer update. Here's a brief rundown of what you can expect to see over the coming weeks and months:

Crown Trick is a charmingly animated and newly launched turn-based roguelike. While it's not the most original premise in the world, Crown Trick is nevertheless well polished and filled with enough content to keep your occupied for quite a while. So if you're a fan of both genres, I'd say it's probably worth giving it a closer look.

Speaking of which, you can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in action through the freshly posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a fairly short one:

[Update]: Noita has just received its final 'Epilogue' update.

After going through a whole bunch of major updates, the action-roguelike Noita has now finally been completed. Version 1.0 brings with it a bunch of new content and quality of life improvements, an even greater appetite for rampant destruction, and most importantly of all, a procedurally generated world where every single pixel is simulated!

Since that last part might not sound all that impressive on paper, allow me to also share with you the recently posted trailer. It'll clue you in quite quickly on just how crazy the combat in Noita can get. Have a gander:

Cris Tales, a hand-drawn homage to classic JRPGs, has been delayed until 2021

[Update]: Cris Tales has now landed onto PC and consoles alongside a somewhat divisive reception.

Much like the oldschool JRPGs from which it draws a great deal of inspiration, the upcoming Cris Tales is all about wondering across the world, recruiting and befriending a variety of characters, and then facing off against a whole host of enemies in turn-based combat. Things do get a lot more interesting when you consider that Cris Tales also features time-travel and allows you to visit individual locations in the past, present and future!

Unfortunately, as neat as all of that sounds, there is one bit of bad news. Instead of releasing this November 17th as previously announced, Cris Tales has now been pushed back to early 2021, with no exact release date set just yet.
