Raji: An Ancient Epic screenshot of the statue of the goddess

If you're tired of the endless stream of adventure games set within fairly similar Western fantasy worlds, you might want to give the freshly released Raji: An Ancient Epic a look. It is an action-adventure set in ancient India and heavily flavored by Hindu mythology, something that is very rarely seen in games these days.

When it comes to the actual gameplay, however, Raji is far more recognizable. In other words, expect to spend a lot of your time navigating a combination of puzzles and platforming challenges, smacking around a whole bunch of colorful and demonic adversaries, and most importantly, dedicating yourself to various gods in order to obtain new abilities and weapons.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as check out what style Raji is going for, through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a rather lovely one:

While I haven't played Raji myself, I am happy to say that the reviews so far appear to be quite positive. So if you're in an action-adventure sort of mood, and you don't mind the fact that it's a somewhat short game, Raji might be worth a closer look.
