[Update]: Fall Guys' party themed Season 6 is launching on November 30, 2021 alongside cross-platform progression.
If you're itching for a bit of wacky nonsense to distract you from the summer heat, you'll be happy to hear that Fall Guys' Season 5 update is now nearly upon us. Once it arrives this July 20th Season 5 will bring with it six new rounds, duo and trio game modes, as well as a whole assortment of new obstacles to overcome and cutesy cosmetics to collect.
You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this looks like in action through two of the recent trailers. The first one is the cinematic short setting up the whole adventuring theme, while the second one is a more gameplay focused preview. Have a gander, they're both rather easy on the eyes:
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox PC Review - A remarkably solid port for a remarkably solid JRPG

[Update]: As a part of the January 2022 update, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has added a co-op mode on PC!
Despite being a long-running series the premise behind each Ys game can be very quickly summarized. You play as the ever-adventuring Adol Christin as he crashes yet another ship into yet another island, becomes involved in some sort of grand mystery, saves the world in a heroic fashion, and eventually leaves everyone behind with smiles on their faces and their priceless monuments in ruins.
While this does get a little bit silly sometimes, there is one very important upside - you can pick up just about any game from the main series and start there without worrying about previous context or who the characters even are. So if you're thinking about doing just that with Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, or if you're simply curious about how it compares to its predecessor Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, allow me to share my thoughts and impressions now that I've spent two rather eventful weeks with it.
Streets of Rage 4's Mr. X Nightmare DLC has added new characters and Survival game mode

A full year has gone by since Streets of Rage 4 first arrived, so if you're looking for some sort of excuse to give it another whirl, you'll be happy to hear the very first DLC has now arrived. The aptly titled Mr. X Nightmare will have you enter a simulation created from the remnants of Mr. X's brain, in which you will encounter three new playable characters, a brand new Survival mode, a new character customization system, as well as new arenas, traps and enemies to toy around with.
You can get a pretty good idea of what all of this nonsense looks like in action through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a rather straightforward one:
Steam version of NieR: Automata has fixed long-standing issues and dropped Denuvo DRM

The Steam version of NieR: Automata has sadly been a technical mess ever since it first launched. Between strangely implemented resolution settings, glitchy anti-aliasing and the broken aspect ratio during cutscenes, playing through NieR: Automata was a bit of a nightmarish experience without mods to fix all of the nonsense.
With that in mind, I am incredibly happy to say that the developers have now returned in order to fix up most of the long-standing issues and bring the Steam version up to the same level as the Xbox Game Pass one. Here's what has been changed:

In celebration of France's Bastille Day, as well as to honor the late comic book artist and developer Benoît Sokal, GOG is currently giving away two of his classic point & click adventure games - Syberia 1 and 2. Simply head on over to GOG, add the two games to your account, and you'll be good to go after a short download.
The one catch, as always, is that the giveaway is time limited. As such, you'll need to add the two games to your account before 1pm UTC on July 17, after which you'll be able to play them whenever you want.
Vermintide 2 studio's Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been delayed until 2022

[Update #2]: My review for Darktide is now live and, long story short, it's as rough and fascinating as the world it takes place in!
[Update]: Darktide has revealed the fourth and final Psyker class in a brand new trailer.
The pandemic has caused an unprecedented amount of delays over the past year, and sadly today we have a brand new one to add to the pile. This time around it's the co-op focused Warhammer 40,000: Darktide that is getting its release date pushed back. So instead of launching in 2021 as previously expected, Darktide will be arriving onto PC and Xbox in early 2022.
"We have a responsibility to deliver the best game we possibly can, and frankly we need more time to accomplish this goal," reads the brief update. "It's no secret that building a game during a pandemic is a challenge and we are not immune to this."
NieR: Automata devs have detailed the upcoming and much-needed Steam patch

[Update]: The update has now arrived, and I'm happy to say it has brought with it one additional surprise - the removal of the often-controversial Denuvo DRM!
Ever since Nier: Automata landed onto Steam it was plagued with a whole assortment of technical problems. Unfortunately, neither Square Enix nor PlatinumGames did much of anything to fix these issues over the years, and so players were forced to rely on third-party mods in order to achieve basic functionality like making the game run at the resolution it was set to.
Thankfully, all of this nonsense will be changing for the better in the near future. As a part of the upcoming July 15 update, NieR: Automata will be fixing many of its long-standing technical issues and finally making the Steam version as solid as the more recent Xbox Game Pass one.
