Apex Legends artwork showing off the new legend Seer

[Update]: Season 10 has now arrived, and unfortunately it seems like Seer is ridiculously powerful, to the point where it looks like everyone is fighting over who gets to play him.

If you've had your fill of the smaller events and are now itching for something a bit more substantial, you'll be happy to hear that Apex Legends' Season 10 update is now nearly upon us. Once the Emergence update goes live on August 3rd it'll bring with it the mysterious Seer as a new Legend, Rampart's very own Rampage LMG, a whole bunch of changes to the World's Edge map, as well as ranked Arenas!

While the exact details are still few and far between, you can get a little bit of a peek at some of the changes through the recently posted launch trailer. I'll also throw in Seer's story-focused cinematic short because it's quite a gorgeous one! Have a gander:

As far as his abilities are concerned, I once again can't give you the exact details, but I can at least offer you a general overview of what Seer is all about. His tactical ability sends out a swarm of drones which reveal and track enemies, just like what you've seen in the trailers above. Similarly, his ultimate creates a giant web of drones that tracks all enemies moving through the area, essentially serving as a sort of advanced Crypto drone. The passive is the one I'm not 100% sure on, but it seems to be some sort of sensor that helps you figure out where enemies are, though apparently not with full accuracy.

How all of this will work out in actual gameplay, however, that still remains to be seen. Personally I'm quite optimistic as information, especially in the middle of combat, is always incredibly useful to have. So if Seer can provide that without sacrificing too much of his combat utility, something that Crypto struggles with outside of highly coordinated squads, I could definitely see him being a solid side-grade to Bloodhound.

Whatever the case may be, I'll make sure to let you know once the Emergence update goes live and Seer becomes available. Until then, you can keep an eye on any future announcements over at the Apex Legends website.
