For those of you not in the loop, Vampyr is an upcoming vampire themed RPG from Dontnod, the developers behind Life is Strange and Remember Me. But rather than simply be yet another action adventure, Vampyr is aiming to explore the duality that comes from our protagonist being both a doctor, and a bloodthirsty demon of the night. Dealing with a plague that's sweeping the city is hard enough on its own, but its a lot harder when you have to snack on those you're trying to save in order to not wither and die!
And it is exactly this sort of duality that the most recent teaser trailer showcases by letting us in on the private conversations of the various citizens that inhabit the plague-ridden streets of London. But enough babbling from me, here's the video:

After being teased for many, many weeks now, Star Citizen's rather massive Update 2.6.0 has now finally arrived! It brings with it the Star Marine module and FPS combat, Pirate Swarm as a new game mode in Arena Commander, a variety of bug fixes and performance improvements, as well as a whole host of other changes. If you're interested in all of the details, head on over to the official patch notes.
On the other hand, if you're just looking for a preview of the newly introduced FPS combat, you'll find a brief developer video down below. Do bear in mind that the footage you're going to be watching is from an earlier version, so expect some of the bugs and annoyances to be gone in the actual update. Anyway, here's the video:

Titan Comics, the company you might know from their involvement in the official Dark Souls comics and novels, recently announced that they will be tackling Dawn of War 3 as well. This isn't their first foray into Warhammer 40k, however, given that they currently have an ongoing series called Warhammer 40,000: Will of Iron, the first part of which you can read for free by heading over here.
As for Dawn of War 3, it will be getting a four issue comic mini-series in April 2017, focusing primarily on fleshing out the overarching lore and some of the characters you'll be killing meeting. The comics are being written by Ryan O'Sullivan (who penned the Eisenhorn: Xenos one-off comic, and the Turncoat series), and illustrated by Daniel Indro (who did artwork for Vikings: Uprising and a couple of Doctor Who series). Whether their work is actually any good, that I don't know, but what I can tell you is that some of the Dark Souls comics ended up being pretty solid, so my hopes are high for Dawn of War 3.

The remastered version of Turok, the old school dinosaur-hating FPS, launched around a year ago to some overwhelmingly positive reviews. While I've personally never played it, the common opinion seems to be that this is most definitive version of the game given the improved controls, superior visuals, and general bugfixing.
But if you found the level design to be as confusing as I did so many years ago, you'll be delighted to hear that the developers have now added a level editor! You can use it to modify current maps and add new features, create your own levels or pre-built areas for others to use, mess around with textures and gameplay mechanics, and all that good stuff.

If you haven't had your fill of presents just yet, and you happen to also play Overwatch, you're in luck as Blizzard has decided to give everyone a nice little holiday gift. As you can probably guess from the title alone, the gift in question is a sizable stack of Loot Boxes!
So how can you grab these five free Loot Boxes? Well, its quite literally as simple as logging into Overwatch! The moment you get past the login screen you'll see a "holiday greetings" pop-up which will add five Loot Boxes to your account, each one with a guaranteed holiday-themed item.

Santa is still a couple of days away, but if you feel the need to fill up your virtual stockings you'll be glad to hear that the Steam Winter Sale has now began! I'd wager this isn't much a of surprise for most of you given that the launch date was leaked not once, not twice, but five times already. However, while the reveal may not have been as much of a spectacle as in the previous few years, the good news is that the discounts are just as good!
Cities: Skylines is currently €7, Doom is €20, The Witcher 3 - Game of the Year Edition is €30, Rainbow Six Siege is €20, and these are just the games Steam felt I should know about... despite already owning them! So if you're up for gaming on a discount, head on over to your discovery queue and prepare to make your poor wallet weep.

The standalone version of Gwent is still in closed beta, but CDPR is chugging along nicely when it comes to updates. They've already released numerous balance and performance patches, and just recently they have unleashed perhaps the most important additions so far - Ranked Play and the progression system rework.
The way the progression system functioned previously was rather... poor, to say the least. You would only gain experience if you won the match, so even if you lost a game after the most exciting 20 minutes of your life you would still get absolutely nothing for your efforts! With the most recent update, however, the progression system now tracks how many rounds you've won, so the closer the match the more experience you will get - as it should be. If you're interested in all of the minute details you'll find the brief developer update video down below:

If you've pre-ordered the rather expensive Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition you might want to check your email because the codes for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition have recently been sent out. And as you can probably guess from the title, this also means that Halo Wars is now finally playable on the PC as well, though naturally as a Windows 10 exclusive.
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition brings with it improved graphics and performance, all of the previously released DLC, and for those of you that like such things - a new batch of achievements to collect. Furthermore, the legacy matchmaking system has been replaced with a new multiplayer session browser, so you should have a much easier time joining exactly the type of match you want.

The Warhammer 40k universe has been going on for nearly thirty years now, and as such its a bit ambitious to expect everyone to know what in the blazing hells is even going on. Sure, I'd wager most people know what an Ork or a Space Marine are, but what about the specific characters and their motivations, or even the differences between the various factions?
So if you belong to the "I have no idea what's happening" camp and would like to learn a little bit more about Warhammer 40k before Dawn of War 3 arrives, you'll be glad to hear that the developers have recently posted a brief overview of the general lore and the characters you'll meet. Have a look:

For those of you not in the loop, Smissmas is the most wonderful time of year. Its a time when friends and foes can finally lay down their grotesque weapons of destruction, and instead equip much more festive versions to blow each other to smithereens with! Because in TF2, if it doesn't include shiny new cosmetics, its not worth doing!
As such, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that there are a whole bunch of new festive weapons and skins, as well as three new taunts to annoy your enemies with. And if these sort of shiny new hats are what you seek, you'll also be glad to hear that the in-game store is currently holding a massive sale on a variety of items and paint kits.
