Styx: Shards of Darkness screenshot featuring a sneaky trip through the darkness

Styx: Shards of Darkness is an upcoming stealth game in the vein of the Thief series. In other words, it features plenty of open-ended levels crawling with guards, a variety of weapons and tools to dispatch them with, and stealth mechanics that revolve around careful planning and execution rather than brainless aggression.

And if you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, here's the recently posted gameplay trailer showcasing a rather large level and a plethora of tricks and tools. As far as story spoilers are concerned, there is basically nothing to worry about, so feel free to give it a look. Here's the video:

Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor - Martyr duel with Chaos

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is an upcoming action RPG that aims to combine Diablo-like features such as randomized levels, tons of replayability, and a constantly increasing difficulty curve, with the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. But perhaps most importantly, the developers aim to have all of that backed up with a compelling narrative and interesting characters.

And to that aim they have released just released the first of four short stories following an Inquisitorial investigation into a world that has forsaken the God-Emperor. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, you can find the free download over at the Black Library.

Turtle Rock Studios's Evolve screenshot

[Update]: Turtle Rock's Left 4 Dead inspired shooter Back 4 Blood will be launching in October 2021.

While Evolve may have ended up in complete failure due to mismanagement and some questionable gameplay choices, Left 4 Dead still remains as one of those games I reinstall and replay at least once a year. As such, I am happy to say that Turtle Rock Studios have announced a partnership with Perfect World Entertainment in order to create a brand new co-op FPS.

The details are currently a bit scarce, but the 'super secret' project is going to be a first-person free-to-play shooter with a heavy focus on co-operative action, and perhaps most importantly, a return to what "Turtle Rock does best". Here's the full quote from Turtle Rock's Co-Founder Phil Robb:

Thumper screenshot showcasing a shiny metallic space-beetle

Thumper, in the most basic terms, is an action-rhythm game that's all about ridiculous speeds and violent collisions... and you also play as a metallic space-beetle, because why not! And if you ever wanted to see the world through the eyes of a metallic-space beetle, you're in luck as Thumper has just added support for both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive!

There is unfortunately no video preview of the VR update, but if you just take a glance at some of the previous gameplay trailers I think you'll get a good idea of just how ridiculous all of this might turn out. Have a look:

Telltale's The Walking Dead: A New Frontier screenshot featuring Clementine and Javier

[Update]: Season 3 is now live, and apparently the two episodes are full-sized!

If you were itching to find out what exactly happened after the Season 2 ending of Telltale's The Walking Dead, you'll soon have a chance to do so as Season 3 - A New Frontier is set to arrive within the hour. And best of all, Season 3 will launch with two episodes rather than the usual one, though I'm still not certain if these are proper episodes given that they are called "Ties That Bind Part 1 & 2".

And for those of you wondering what exactly The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will be about, here's the recently posted preview trailer. There are some minor spoilers in there, most notably the reveal of a certain popular character, so if you want to be completely fresh you might want to avoid it. But for the rest of you, here's the video:

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope screenshot showing some co-op gameplay

Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope launched in Early Access back in October, and has since then received a steady stream of updates. But while those mostly offered minor changes or gameplay additions, the most recent update has added two more difficulty settings for you to toy around with (tourist and serious), and more importantly, co-op multiplayer!

If you're wondering what this might look like in game, you'll find the recently posted (and incredibly brief) teaser video down below. Have a look:

Total War: Warhammer's Realm of the Wood Elves DLC battle between humans and trees

Total War: Warhammer made its way to Linux about a month ago, two weeks before the Realm of the Wood Elves DLC even appeared. As such, the pointy-eared marksmen and their enchanted forest were not yet ready to make their transition. But as you can guess from the title alone, this is no longer the case as the Realm of the Wood Elves is now available on Linux as well!

The DLC brings with it the Wood Elves as a brand new faction along with their own unique Legendary Lords, exclusive units, a mini story campaign, as well a variety of other features that define a Total War: Warhammer faction. Furthermore, the Realm of the Wood Elves DLC should also bring with it a free update containing two new heroes for The Empire, two new lores of magic, as well as a ton of new maps to wage war on!

And if you're wondering what all of this might look like, you'll find a brief video overview of the Wood Elf faction and the DLC itself down below. Have a look:

Just Cause 3 screenshot showing our hero throwing out someone out of a plane

After many, many months of work the Nanos Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod is almost here. Starting tomorrow, December 20th, the JC3:MP mod will be available for everyone to enjoy, and most importantly, it will come with all of the server files! So if you ever wanted to host your own community servers, or even create your very own multiplayer game modes within Just Cause 3, you will soon have a chance to do so.

And if you're wondering how effective this whole mod even is, here's the recently posted teaser trailer. While the video does feature a variety of hilarious glitches and bugs, the important thing here is that the multiplayer mod seems to support a pretty damn impressive amount of simultaneous players. Ark Park screenshot showcasing a giant T-REX

When VR technology first started picking up steam I expected two types of games to appear almost instantly: lightsaber dueling, and dinosaur riding! While my dreams of realistic lightsaber dueling will have to wait for another day, it appears the second part will be coming true in the relatively near future as Ark: Survival Evolved is getting a Jurassic Park inspired VR adventure.

The aptly named Ark Park will be a virtual reality experience featuring over 100 unique species of dinosaurs and other critters that shared the planet with them. And if that sounds awesome to you now, just wait until you see the trailer! But before you do I would advise skipping to 0:55s in the video as I found the narrator to be quite annoying. With that said, have a look:

Resident Evil 7's Baker family artwork

If you were itching to give Resident Evil 7 a try ahead of its January 24th release date, you now have a chance to do so as the demo has finally appeared on Steam. Simply head on over to the Resident Evil 7: Beginning Hour Steam page, click on the Play Game button, and enjoy being chased around the house by invincible psychopaths.

And for those of you that know very little about Resident Evil 7, here's one of the recently posted trailers to hopefully clue you in. While it won't show you much in terms of gameplay, it does a rather good job of establishing the sort of atmosphere Resident Evil 7 is going for. Have a look:
