Civilization 6 Australian Outback Station improvement screenshot

The next Civilization 6 DLC pack will bring with it Australia as a playable faction, a first for the entire series. Australia will be led by Prime Minster John Curtin, and will come with two unique assets: a special infantry unit nicknamed the Diggers, as well as the Outback Station improvement, which is essentially a massive cattle ranch.

If you're interested in a brief overview of all these features, you'll find the official preview video down below. It doesn't really go in-depth, but it should still give you a good idea of what to expect from the Land Down Under. Here's the video:

Mass Effect: Andromeda characters

If the most recent cinematic trailer has left you wanting for more details, you're in luck as Bioware has recently started a gameplay preview series to showcase everything Mass Effect: Andromeda has to offer. The very first of these videos, as you can probably guess from the title, is centered around combat, skills, and weaponry.

So if you're wondering what the combat is going to be like, and whether it will be better than Mass Effect 3's, you'll find the preview video down below. And don't worry about spoilers, there is absolutely zero story present, just a whole bunch of aliens getting shot in the face. Anyway, here's the video:

Official artwork showing all Overwatch heroes

A few months have passed since Sombra made her appearance in Overwatch, so it should come as no surprise to hear that Blizzard has begun teasing the 24th hero. Unlike Sombra, however, it appears they are being a bit more direct with the reveal this time around. We still don't know who it is, but as you'll find in "an interview with inventor Efi Oladele" Blizzard is strongly hinting at some sort Omnic hero.

And before you ask, no, its not Doomfist. Chances are high Doomfist is in development given how many rumors and leaks appeared over the past few weeks, but it has been pretty much confirmed that the 24th hero is not someone we've seen mentioned previously. Similarly, there have also been rumors that the 24th hero is some sort of Omnic spider-tank as seen in the in the DICE 2017 Summit, but that has also been debunked. So until Blizzard themselves reveals the hero I would recommend treating these types of rumors as just that.

NieR: Automata screenshot of the protagonist

NieR: Automata is Platinum Games' upcoming action RPG set in a vast open-world environment. It will be arriving on March 7th in North America and March 10th in Europe and Australia, though whether it will be coming at the same time for the PC and PS4 is currently unknown. A recent trailer pinned the PC version for March 10th, but it was quickly taken down, so I'm afraid we're going to have to remain in the dark for a little while longer.

All of that aside, if you're interested in the combat and weaponry found within NieR: Automata, you're in luck as Square Enix has recently posted a trailer showcasing just that. Have a look:

Berserk and the Band of the Hawk screenshot of Guts

If you're a fan of over-the-top action and characters wielding absolutely ridiculous weaponry, you might want to pay attention to the recently released Berserk and the Band of the Hawk. In the most basic of terms it is a hybrid between the Dynasty Warriors series and the Berserk universe, and if you're familiar with either of those you're probably aware that this involves hacking and slashing through thousands of poor fools dumb enough to stand in your way.

Since trying to explain all of this through words alone is a bit pointless, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it should give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect. Anyway, here's the video:

Total War: Warhammer official Bretonnia artwork

Bretonnia has been available as a multiplayer faction since day one, but once the February 28th update rolls around you'll also be able to play them in the singleplayer campaign. Much like all of the other Total War: Warhammer factions Bretonnia will come with unique Legendary Lords (King Louen Leoncoeur, Alberic of Bordeleaux and the Fay Enchantress), a bunch of quests that specifically relate to them, as well as a variety of newly updated units.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in action, here's the recently posted in-game trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it should give you a general idea of what Bretonnia is all about. Have a look:

Path of Exile The Fall of Oriath official artwork

If you're sick and tired of repeating the same four acts across three difficulty levels, you'll be incredibly happy to hear that Path of Exile's upcoming The Fall of Oriath expansion will introduce six new ones, thus completely removing the need for multiple difficulty settings! Some of them will be significantly modified versions of the current acts, there mostly to showcase how the world has changed due to our actions, while the others will offer a completely new and unique environment to explore.

Since all of this is a bit difficult to explain through a single paragraph, allow me to instead show you the recently posted teaser trailer. It showcases a few bits of footage from all of the new zones, so it should give you a good idea of what sort of approach Grinding Gear Games are going for. Anyway, here's the video:

Hob's main character standing next to a ledge

Hob is an exploration focused adventure that will have you solve a variety of puzzles, as well as beat down a whole bunch of monsters, all in an effort to keep moving ever-forward through its constantly changing world. The last part of that sentence is more than simple fluff, however, as the main mechanic in Hob revolves around manipulating the world itself in order to solve puzzles, unveil secrets, and open previously unseen pathways.

While the most recent video won't show you much in terms of puzzle-solving, it does a rather good job of showcasing the sort of environments you'll get to roam through in Hob. So if you're interested in seeing what this action-adventure has to offer, here's the video:

Conan Exiles Avatar of Yog screenshot

Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game currently in Early Access. It features plenty of exploration, crafting, angry twelve-year-olds that want to steal all of your stuff, cannibalistic gods that you can summon to feast upon the flesh of your enemies, and that sort of standard survival game stuff. Naturally, it also features a wide array of bugs and assorted performance issues, some of which were so severe that I couldn't even play the game until a week ago!

Thankfully, it does appear that Funcom is being quite consistent with the patching process. They fixed most of 'my' performance issues with a patch last week, and already they have released another update focused around performance, bugfixing, and gameplay balance. You can find all of the details over at Steam, but if you're just interested in the 'short version', here's all of the performance and balance changes:

World of Warcraft transmogrification sets tab

For those of you that haven't played World of Warcraft in quite a while, the transmogrification system allows you to replace the appearance of your weapons and armor with the appearance of items you've previously collected. While the system itself is perfectly fine, the list of armor pieces and weapons is nigh impossible to browse through on older characters given that they have pages upon pages of items that all have incredibly similar icons.

This little annoyance will thankfully be getting fixed with Patch 7.2 as Blizzard is planning to add a "Sets" tab to the transmogrification system. The idea is to allow players to quickly and easily scroll through all of the available sets for their class, see which items they have collected, and then simply take on that appearance with the click of a button. No more scrolling through pages of junk in order to hunt down all 8 parts of a set!
