NieR: Automata screenshot of the main character's face

NieR: Automata has already arrived to the PlayStation 4 in the US, but for the rest of us in Europe or on the PC there is still a little bit of a wait. Europe will be getting the PlayStation 4 version on March 10th, while the PC version will have a simultaneous global release on March 17th.

In order to give everyone an idea of what Nier: Automata is even all about Square Enix has recently posted a brand new trailer going over the story, gameplay, and environments we'll get to mess around with. And don't worry about spoilers because the story content is incredibly vague and mostly meant as an appetizer. Anyway, have a look:

Screenshot from Ubisoft's Steep Alaska update

Steep is Ubisoft's extreme winter sports game that allows you to ski, glide, snowboard, or just faceplant across a nice variety of tracks and terrain. The most recent free update has added Alaska's Mount Denali alongside 21 new challenges, and in order to give everyone a chance to see what its all about Ubisoft will soon be holding a free-to-play weekend.

The free weekend will begin on March 10th at 6pm GMT, and will last all the way until March 13th at 6pm GMT. If you would like to participate simply head on over to the official website and choose your preferred platform. For those of you planning to play Steep on PC this means downloading it via Uplay.

The official cover artwork for the Overwatch comic about Bastion - Binary

Blizzard promised a whole bunch of Overwatch story content in 2017, and so far they are doing a damn good job at keeping their word. They recently released a brand new hero onto the PTR alongside her own origin story and brief lore video, and now they have decided to once again tackle everyone's favorite murderbot Bastion.

So if you're interested in learning how Torbjorn and Bastion first met you'll find the "Binary" short comic over at the Overwatch website. However, you can also find an astonishingly well animated version of the comic by heading over here, so unless you're under a heavy data cap I would suggest you go with this one first.

Ana from overwatch looking very badass

A couple of days ago Blizzard released a big balancing patch onto the Overwatch PTR (Public Test Realm). It brought with it some very significant nerfs to Ana, but also a couple of buffs to Zenyatta, Sombra, Junkrat, and Winston.

As it turns out, some of those changes were far too drastic, so Blizzard has just now issued a follow-up patch to hopefully address all of the issues. Ana's Biotic Grenade nerf has been reverted along with Zenyatta's insane Discord Orb buff, while Sombra has received yet another awesome quality of life change. Since the patch notes are fairly small, here's all of the new additions:

No Man's Sky Pathfinder Update ground vehicle using a mining laser

While No Man's Sky ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of 2016, I still have to commend the developers for all of post-launch content they have added. The previous Foundation Update brought with it base-building and a variety of other gameplay improvements, and today's Pathfinder Update is set to be just as impactful as it brings with it ground vehicles, racing tracks, and a whole bunch of other content!

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in gameplay terms, allow me to share with you the recently posted preview video. It doesn't feature the all-important race tracks I'm afraid, but it should give you a good idea of what the Pathfinder Update has to offer. Here's the video:

Quake Champions a map with a giant eye in the middle

Quake Champions is Bethesda's return to the glory days of PC arena shooters. Once it arrives it will feature fast-paced combat, a wide variety of ridiculously powerful weaponry, advanced movement mechanics, and pretty much everything you might remember from Quake 3: Arena. And before you ask, no, the speed and precision required to be successful will not be reduced by the existence of console versions as Quake Champions is apparently going to be a PC exclusive.

If you're interested in what Quake Champions looks like in action you'll find the most recent teaser trailer down below. And if you're interested in a bit of a longer gameplay video, you'll find what you seek over here. Anyway, here's the teaser:

Europa Universalis IV: Mandate of Heaven official artwork

Paradox's grand strategy game Europa Universalis IV is soon going to become even grander. The upcoming Mandate of Heaven expansion will bring with it major improvements to the nations of East Asia, each of which will come with their own unique mechanics and strategies. As you might expect given the time period, the three playable nations will be Ming China, Japan, and the Manchu tribes.

If you're up for a brief teaser that doesn't really showcase any gameplay, you'll find it right below. I'll also include the official list of features because that's currently pretty much everything that's available about Mandate of Heaven. Have a look:

Dark Souls 3: The Ringed City DLC screenshot of a mighty dragon

The Ringed City is going to be Dark Souls 3's second and last piece of DLC, but perhaps most importantly of all, it will also be the grand finale of the entire Dark Souls series. There will be more Souls-like games in the future, don't you worry about that, but FromSoftware has made it clear that they are done with Dark Souls for now.

So if you're interested in what The Ringed City will look like, and what sort of monsters you'll be able to fight in Dark Souls 3's finale, you'll find the latest batch of screenshots down below. Simply click on the image in order to open up a bigger version, and don't worry about spoilers as the images are mostly about atmosphere, rather than story. Anyway, have a look:

Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide castle screenshot

For those of you that might not know, Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide is the premier co-op rat-slaying simulator set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. In gameplay terms it is most similar to Left 4 Dead, but with far more abilities, weapons, and enemies to constantly worry about.

While it was already a good game Vermintide has just become even better as the latest update has brought in a variety of bug fixes and balance changes, as well as a Lorebook which you can fill out in order to learn more about the Warhammer world and its inhabitants. If you're interested in all of the details you can find the full patch notes on Steam, but if you're just looking for the important balance changes, here they are:

If you're looking for a couple of games to occupy your time with until the late-March shower of AAA games, you might want to check out GOG's Spring Sale. There's around 500 games on a discount, including The Witcher series, Pillars of Eternity, Divinity: Original Sin, and so forth.

The Spring Sale will only last until March 12th, however, so make sure to grab your favorites before the time runs out. And if you're not sure what's even worth picking up allow me to list out a couple of my favorites, though do bear in mind I'm highly biased towards story focused RPGs:
