Stardew Valley old screenshot of the mines

Stardew Valley recently celebrated its one year anniversary, and in order to show how much the game has evolved over time the developer ConcernedApe released a bunch of in-development screenshots from some fairly ancient versions of Stardew Valley... or Sprout Valley as it was called back then. If this sounds like something you might be interested in I fully encourage you to check the blog post out, its quite fascinating to read knowing how far Stardew Valley has come.

But if you're just looking to see what Stardew Valley looked like a couple of years ago, here's some of my favorite screenshots and a brief explanation of what they represent:

Hearthstone Journey to Un'Goro official artwork

After a couple of weeks filled with rumors and leaks Blizzard has now officially announced Hearthstone's next expansion - Journey to Un'Goro. It will bring with it 135 new minions and spells, 2 Legendary cards for each class, as well as two new mechanics: Quest and Adapt. The new Adapt keyword allows a minion to discover an enhancement when its played, essentially giving it things like Taunt, Divine Shield, etc. Quests on the other hand are Legendary cards that always appear in your hand at the beginning of the game, and if you manage to complete their rather hefty requirements you will instantly be rewarded with an incredibly powerful card - as shown below.

If you're interested in learning more, ideally from two men wearing flannel shirts, allow me to show you the recently posted announcement video. It features the newly released trailer for Journey to Un'Goro, as well as a brief overview of the new mechanics with Game Director Ben Brode and Production Director Jason Chayes. Have a look:

Shadow of War official artwork

After being accidentally leaked a couple of days ago, the long-awaited sequel to Shadow of Mordor has now finally and officially been confirmed. In Shadow of War you won't just be hunting down a variety of Orcs, however, as the newly made Ring of Power will allow you to confront the deadliest enemies known to all mankind - Sauron and his Nazgul!

While there is currently no actual gameplay trailer available, Warner Bros. did release a rather awesome cinematic trailer. So if you're interested in seeing what sort of enemies you'll be fighting in Shadow of War, lower your gaze down below:

Bastion from the Overwatch last Bastion animated short

If you were slowly losing your mind in Quick Play this past week, worry not as Season 4 of Competitive Play has now finally arrived. The update does not bring with it a new hero as many have speculated, but it does bring with it the long-awaited Server Browser, a variety of balance changes, and some much needed fixes to stop the endless stall-outs in the 2CP game mode.

There are a ridiculous amount of changes that came with this update, so if you're interested in all of the details make sure to visit the official blog. On the other hand, if you're just looking for the short version I'll list out all of the important changes, as well as the brief video introduction to the Server Browser. Here's the list, starting with the balance changes:

Shadowverse Dragoncraft screenshot

The Shadowverse storyline has recently been bolstered by the addition of a second chapter for three characters: Arisa, Erika, and Luna. While the writing is still incredibly stilted and cheesy I must admit that the story this time around is much more compelling, though definitely still not something I would consider Shadowverse's main selling point.

Besides the new storyline the update has also brought with it nerfs to Goblin Mage and Piercing Rune, a variety of minor improvements, as well as an Elite 2 difficulty setting for the Practice AI. Both Goblin Mage and Piercing Rune are still perfectly usable, but if you are in need of some more Vials you can destroy them for full value: 200 for Piercing Rune, and 50 for Goblin Mage. If you don't intend to use them right away its probably wise to destroy them as you can always craft them back for the same amount of Vials.

Gigantic's Eternal Dawn update golden skins screenshot

Gigantic's second major update "Eternal Dawn" has now arrived to both Xbox One and Windows 10. It has brought with it a new melee support hero by the name of Zandora, competitive leaderboards, a variety of new weapon and hero skins, as well as the mighty Storm Drake.

If you're looking for a brief glimpse at all of these new features you'll find the recently posted preview trailer down below. It doesn't really go in depth about any of the topics, but it should give you a general idea of what the Eternal Dawn update has brought to the table. Have a look:

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind screenshot of Balmora

The Elder Scrolls Online is poised to become a lot more interesting as the fairly generic fantasy setting will soon be getting bolstered by the completely outlandish landscapes of Morrowind. Once the expansion arrives on June 6th players will be able to revisit the legendary island of Vvardenfell, Vivec City, and Seyda Neen, as well as indulge in some new armor, weapons, cosmetics, and encounters.

If you're interested in seeing what this new interpretation of Morrowind looks like in action, you'll find the recently posted gameplay trailer right below. Despite its name it doesn't feature much in terms of straight up gameplay, but it does a rather good job of showcasing some of the more unique vistas and enemies Morrowind has to offer. Have a look:

Steep Alaska update official promo screenshot

Steep, Ubisoft's extreme winter sports game, has recently added Alaska's Mount Denali as a free patch for all platforms. The Alaska Update has brought with it 21 new challenges, 2 branded challenges, and a whole bunch of interesting new terrain to conquer... and quite possibly slam your face into.

If you're interested in seeing all of this in action, you're in luck as Ubisoft has posted a surprisingly well done trailer showcasing some of the new environments and challenges. Have a look:

Dead Rising 4 screenshot of a zombie selfie

For those of you looking for totally serious and bizarrely Christmas themed zombie slaying, I bring some good news! According to a recent announcement Capcom will be ushering Dead Rising 4 onto Steam on March 14th, 2017.

If you've somehow never seen a Dead Rising game, or if you just need a brief reminder of how insane all of it is, here's the relatively recent "Return to the Mall" trailer. It doesn't feature a ton of gameplay, but it does a rather good job of setting the proper mood. Anyway, here's the trailer:

Mass Effect: Andromeda female pathfinder by the moonlight

If you're unsure about what sort of playstyle to go for in Mass Effect: Andromeda, you might want to check out the latest preview video. It briefly goes over all of the weapon types, some of their potential upgrades and utility options, as well as some of the powers you'll be able to pair them up with.

You'll find the video right below, and don't worry about any spoilers as there is absolutely zero story of any sort. Anyway, here's the video:
