Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire screenshot of a Raptor mount

Guild Wars 2's Path of Fire expansion is set to arrive tomorrow, September 22nd, bringing with it a whole bunch of new content to explore. We'll be able to trek across the vast regions of the Crystal Desert and the adjoining kingdom of Elona, try out nine new Elite Specializations, fight against the Human god of war Batlhazar and his endless hordes of metallic minions, and perhaps most interestingly of all, ride a variety of mounts that each come with their own unique abilities and effects.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as ArenaNet has now released a decently lengthy trailer showcasing Path of Fire's story, visuals, and mounts. Its not the most detailed overview, but it should give you a good idea of what Path of Fire is all about. Have a look:

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee screenshot of Elum and a giant cactus

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is a fairly old puzzle-adventure that will have you navigate a variety of bizarre alien landscapes, avoid deadly traps and equally deadly critters, as well as save your fellow Modokons from being transformed into a meaty snack. I've replayed it a couple of years ago and it has definitely not aged well, but all of the strange charm is still present so I'd say its well worth a try regardless of its flaws.

Whether you're interested or not I would highly recommend you hop over to either Steam, GOG, or the Humble Store as Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee will only remain free to grab for the next 10 hours. Once you have it in your account it will remain yours forever, so make sure to snatch it now and ponder about playing it later.

One of the biggest problems Steam's User Review system had from the very beginning was its vulnerability to review bombing. Since its entirely automated there is simply no way for the system to tell if the vast amounts of negative reviews are due to a genuine flaw with the game, or because one of the developers did something incredibly daft on the side. The end result was a highly unreliable system, a system where you couldn't really judge whether the game itself was any good or not.

As you might imagine, there is no easy way to solve this problem. On one hand you have enjoyable games like Firewatch getting massive amounts of negative reviews due to the developer's actions outside of the game itself, and on the other you have a countless array of games that have either become completely broken, stopped getting updated, or implemented pay-to-win microtransactions. Thankfully, Valve has decided to handle this issue in the best way they possibly could - by presenting the buyer with as much information as possible!

Monster Hunter: World screenshot of a party of heroes near the cliff's edge

Capcom has just recently announced that Monster Hunter: World will be coming to consoles on January 26th, 2018. The release date for the PC version is yet to be revealed, but on the positive side we at least now have a brand new trailer showing off a variety of environments and gigantic monsters.

There is unfortunately no English version of the trailer so you're going to miss out on all of the 'highly important' story bits, but thankfully the rest of the video is told through the universal language of dinosaur-smacking. Have a look, its quite pleasing on the eyes:

Artwork of Mercy from Overwatch

After hanging around on the PTR for what feels like forever, Overwatch's first new payload map Junkertown has now finally arrived to the live servers. Besides the usual variety of bug fixes and quality of life improvements, this update has also brought with it the rather controversial Mercy and D.Va reworks.

Mercy's resurrect now only targets one person and has been turned into a basic ability, while D.Va's Defense Matrix has been nerfed in order to make way for a new missile barrage spell. If you're interested in all of the detailed you'll find the full patch notes over at the Overwatch website, but for now here are all of the major hero changes:

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of Lizardmen in battle

With Total War: Warhammer 2's release date fast approaching, Creative Assembly has now finally started releasing some more information about the Lizardmen. A few days ago they posted a lengthy video showing off the Lizardmen campaign mechanics and general playstyle, while today's video is all about the glorious combat!

So if you're interested in seeing how dinosaurs riding other dinosaurs fare against sentient rats and their 'lovely' pets, make sure to check out the latest preview video down below. Have a look, its quite the spectacle to behold:

Capcom has just announced that the much-anticipated Monster Hunter: World will be coming on January 26th, 2018. So far only the console release date has been confirmed, but chances are high the PC version will follow relatively quickly. Either way, the good news is that the developers have stated they will take as long as they need to in order to make it a quality PC port.

If you're wondering what to expect from Monster Hunter: World in terms of visuals and combat, allow me to share with you one of the recent gameplay trailers. Its essentially a brief overview of the Wildspire Waste zone, but it should give you a good idea of what Monster Hunter: World is all about. Have a look:

Even though the recent Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion brought with it some rather interesting cards the meta ended up being dominated by boring ol' Jade Druids and Pirate Warriors, decks that have been problematic since they first appeared. As it became more and more apparent that a counter is not going to show up any time soon, Blizzard announced a variety of nerfs, though not exactly the nerfs players expected to see.

Instead of toning down the extremely efficient pirates and their overlord Patches, Blizzard chose to nerf Fiery War Axe which is going to be a massive hit for Control Warrior decks. On the positive side, the developers did also nerf Druid through cards like Innervate and Spreading Plague, though I'm not exactly sure if that's going to be enough when compared to the average power level across classes. If you're interested in seeing Blizzard's reasonings behind all of these changes you'll find what you seek on the official blog, but for now here are all of the nerfs:

Heroes of the Storm artwork featuring Ana, Junkrat, and Volskaya Foundry

A few days ago Blizzard revealed that Heroes of the Storm will soon be getting a whole bunch of Overwatch themed content. While the full patch notes haven't been revealed just yet, the upcoming update will be adding Ana and Junkrat as playable heroes, as well as a brand new map set in Volskaya Industries.

If you're wondering how exactly a skill-intensive healer like Ana is going to make the transition from FPS to MOBA, wonder no more as the developers have now released a rather lengthy spotlight video. While some of the spells had to be changed, you'll be glad to hear that she plays and feels pretty much like her Overwatch self! Have a look, its quite an interesting video:

Subnautica screenshot of the very cutesy cuddlefish

Subnautica's most recent updates have all been centered around extremely aggressive and terrifying alien creatures that seem to love nothing more than to chew on the player's face. As such, I must admit its a bit surprising to see that the latest Cuddlefish Update has only really brought in an adorable little pet for you to play around with.

In order to get yourself this new companion you'll first need to find a cuddlefish egg, though this shouldn't be too big of a problem as they're hidden all across the world. After that all you'll need to do is incubate the egg in the Alien Containment module, ideally create an aquarium within your submarine in order to house your newfound friend, and that's pretty much it. Its not the most complex or in-depth of features, but after being chased around by all sorts of leviathans I have a feeling players will appreciate a friendly face.
