Team Fortress 2 artwork for Pyro's new jetpack item

[Update #2]: Team Fortress 2's June 2022 update seems to have solved the bot and cheater epidemic!

[Update]: Valve is working on fixing Team Fortress 2's overwhelming problem with bots and cheaters.

After soundly beating the Heavy in the Meet Your Match contest a while ago, Pyro has now finally received his very own content update and slight rework. The flamethrower's visuals have been greatly improved and are now more representative of its actual reach, Afterburn duration now depends on just how long you've been flaming someone's face off, Airblast has been made more consistent and enjoyable for both sides, and the list goes on for quite a while.

Besides all of the Pyro changes and additions, the Jungle Inferno update has also added a whole bunch of new maps to explore, as well as 36 new Contracts to complete via the Jungle Inferno Campaign Pass. Unlike the previous campaigns, however, the new Contracts will not slowly trickle into the game, but will instead be available from the very start as a part of a choose-your-own-path sort of tree. More importantly, you can now actually complete Contracts in co-op! Simply group up with your friends, join the same server, and all of the actions you do will count for each of your contracts. A simple addition, but a highly welcome one!

Killing Floor 2 Halloween screenshot of the new spiderweb infested map

The original Killing Floor was well known for its extravagant holiday updates, and I'm glad to say that the tradition has continued into Killing Floor 2 as well. The recently added Halloween event has brought with it a spooky new map to explore, two new weapons to toy around with (more on that later), King Fleshpound as a new potential final boss, as well as new enemy in the form of the Quarter Pound from the Poundemounium Weekly Outbreak custom game mode.

As for the weapons, fans of explosions will be glad to hear that the Demolition perk has now recieved the Seeker Six, an absolutely gigantic rocket launcher that can lock on to enemies and fire an entire salvo of rockets at the same time. On the completely different side of the spectrum, however, we have the new Medic melee weapon - the Hemogoblin. It has the rather lovely ability of draining the enemy's blood, with the end result being a shriveled corpse where once was a rampaging Zed.

Overwatch Halloween Terror comic screenshot of the new Genji costume

Overwatch's second annual Halloween Terror event started early last week, yet for some reason Blizzard has chosen to only now release a comic detailing the return of Doctor Junkenstein and his cronies. While the comic doesn't bring much in terms of new information, it does have some rather lovely artwork, as well as what appears to be a teaser for next year's Genji skin!

You can find the newly released "The Return of Doctor Junkenstein" comic over at the official website. If you're looking for the always-awesome animated version, however, I'm afraid there isn't one available this time around. A real shame since the subtle animations and sounds really add a lot to the atmosphere.

Cities: Skylines screenshot of some buildings covered in greenery

After expansions focused around ridiculous additions such as blimps and giant monorails, Cities: Skylines has now taken things in a much more simpler and eco-friendly direction. As you might expect from the name alone, the Green Cities expansion brings with it a variety of new structures and parks, electric cars and public transportation, alternative service buildings and specialized stores, and so forth.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have released a brief trailer highlighting all of the major additions. Have a gander, the video is only a minute long:

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of High Elves fighting Dwarfs

The upcoming Mortal Empires combined campaign map is perhaps the most significant update Total War: Warhammer 2 will ever receive. It represents a merger between the campaign maps from Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2, with the end result being an absolutely gigantic world filled with a ton of different factions to befriend or conquer.

While the recently posted trailer won't offer you much in terms of details, it will give you a decent look at the new campaign map and the sort of battles you can expect to see. Have a gander, its not a very long video:

If you've somehow managed to avoid playing any of the Civilization games, you're in luck as Humble Bundle is currently offering Civilization 3: Complete Edition for free. Simply head over to the Humble Store, go through the 'purchasing' process, and you'll be well on your way to many sleepless nights.

It is worth mentioning, however, that this offer will only last until tomorrow, or rather for the next 14 hours. As such, I would highly recommend you go and grab it as soon as possible, even if you aren't planning to play it any time soon. Simply adding the key to your Steam account will be enough to claim it forever.

Team Fortress 2 artwork for the Mercenary Park update

After what feels like an eternity of waiting Valve has finally announced that the Pyro Update will be coming to Team Fortress 2 in the near future! There will be a lot of new maps to explore, cosmetics to collect, Contracts to solve, and naturally, Pyro changes to constantly argue over.

The Flamethrower's visuals will soon have better effects and a more consistent reach, Afterburn duration will be based on how long you've 'flamethrowered' someone in the face, and the Airblast is getting a whole bunch of tweaks in order to make it more consistent and fair for both sides. The full details haven't been released just yet, you can find out more about some of the new features and changes over at the official website.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole screenshot of Coon & Friends

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is one of those games you can accurately judge just from its title alone. Its essentially a full season of South Park distilled into game form, with all of the same characters and humor from the show itself. To put it bluntly The Fractured But Whole is definitely not a game for everyone, and it doesn't pretend to be, but if you're a fan of the show you might want to give it a look.

Rather than just babble on, allow me to instead show you the most recent trailer. It doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay, but it should be enough to give you a general idea of what The Fractured But Whole is all about. Have a look:

Guild Wars 2's Shadow of the Mad King event screenshot

With Halloween just around the corner, Guild Wars 2 has now been updated with its annual Shadow of the Mad King event. As before, it brings with it a festive version of Lion's Arch, a Labyrinth full of enemies to squash, a deviously difficult Clock Tower jumping puzzle, a mini-dungeon that lets you fight against the Mad King himself, and naturally, a whole bunch of Halloween themed cosmetics.

While there are some awesome new armor sets and weapons to collect, the definite highlight are the various new mount skins. On their own they might not look impressive, but they all come with four different dye channels which gives you the option to transform them into just about anything. So if you want a Raptor made out of fire and smoke, the option is now there, provided you have the extremely expensive dyes to do so. The only problem is that you cannot buy the individual mount skins, but instead have to grab all of them through the slightly discounted bundle. Whether the mount skins are worth the rather pricey 1600 Gems, however, that I'll leave for you to decide.

Destiny 2 screenshot of the Red Legion commander

Destiny 2 will be coming to PC exclusively via Blizzard's Battle.net client on October 24th. Besides the greatly improved visuals, the PC version will bring with it uncapped framerates, support for resolutions up to 4K, and the usual batch of PC-exclusive options to fiddle around with.

While the recently posted trailer won't offer you much of a glimpse at the various options, it should give you a pretty damn good idea of what the PC version will look like. So if you're interested in seeing what your rig will be struggling to run, you'll find the trailer right below:
