Torment: Tides of Numenera is an isomeric, story-focused RPG and a spiritual successor to one of the best games that have ever graced the genre - Planescape: Torment. While it is by no means perfect, mostly because the combat system is extremely dull and imbalanced, I still had a great deal of fun with Tides of Numenera, so if you're a fan of the genre I would say its worth giving a look.
As such, I am glad to announce that Torment: Tides of Numenera is now free to try out on Steam for the next 26 hours! Its not a lot of time for an RPG, especially not one that has this much story to go through, but it should still give you a good idea of what to expect from Tides of Numenera.

For those of you that might not be familiar with the Warhammer lore, Malekith's deception essentially pitted the Dwarfs and High Elves against each other, with the end result being a war so devastating that both sides have never managed to regain the same grandeur they held once before. So what better way to show off the new Mortal Empires combined campaign than with a massive grudge match between the Dwarfs and Dark Elves!
You'll find the video right below, and while it is a little bit on the lengthy side it should give you a good idea of how the old and new units stack up against each other. Have a look, its quite an awesome battle:

Crusader Kings 2 will soon be expanding its influence eastward with the Jade Dragon DLC. As you might imagine from the name alone, the Jade Dragon expansion will primarily focus on China, bringing with it a variety of new artifacts to collect, a Tributary system that essentially lets you suck up to the Emperor, a variety of new units and corresponding artwork, and the list goes on for a while.
If you're interested in all of the details, as well as what some of these new mechanics might look like in-game, make sure to check out the most recent Feature Breakdown video right below. It will give you a pretty damn good idea of what to expect from the Jade Dragon expansion. Have a look:

After a lengthy hiatus due to the somewhat mediocre Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, the series has now made its return with Assassin's Creed: Origins. Besides being set in a lovely rendition of Ancient Egypt, Origins brings with it a variety of gameplay and quality of life improvements, the most interesting of which is the shift towards a more tactical combat system. Instead of beating down your enemies in a series of 1-on-1 duels, the new system rewards stealth, positioning, and the use of gadgets above all else. So while its still a fairly simple system, it does at least punish you if you end up getting caught without any kind of backup plan.
The recently posted launch trailer won't exactly give you a good look at the gameplay, but it will at least show you the kind of scenery you'll be to explore throughout Origins. Have a look, its not a very long video:

While this should come as no surprise given that its launch date has been leaked about five times now, the annual Steam Halloween Sale has now arrived! So if you hate your wallet and the concept of free time, make sure to head on over to Steam as there is currently a ton of games on a rather deep discount.
If you aren't sure what to even grab, however, allow me to give you a couple of suggestions. While some of them might not be Halloween or horror themed, I'd say they are still well worth a playthrough, provided you're into that type of genre anyway. Babbling aside, here's the short list:

Blizzard recently brought in a rather major Mercy rework in order to make her more proactive and interesting to play. While the changes have definitely managed to make her a lot more fun, they have also created one of the most overpowered heroes Overwatch has ever seen. So overpowered in fact that she's currently nearing 100% pickrate across all ranks and modes of play, including tournament games!
As such, I am very glad to say that Blizzard is currently working on rebalancing Mercy, most likely by addressing just how powerful Resurrect is as a basic spell. They are also working on improving Competitive Play, especially when it comes to the wonky high-level matchmaking, as well as fixing the whole problem of toxicity with a greatly enhanced report system. If you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full developer message down below. Have a look:

[Update]: Thanks to a partnership between Bethesda and GOG, the entire Dishonored series and the first two modern Wolfenstein games are now available DRM-free.
After a rather lengthy wait Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus has now finally arrived on PC and consoles. It brings with it a brand new story set in Nazi-controlled America, a variety of new and completely over-the-top weaponry, as well as enemies that range from simple infantry to giant, flame-breathing robot dogs.
You can find out what all of this looks like in game, as well as how the story is presented, via the recently posted launch trailer. Have a look, its not a very long video:

With the Overwatch Wold Cup set to continue in the near future, I am very glad to say that Blizzard has now announced some much-needed improvements to the spectating system, tournament mode, and overall interface. All teams will come with unique in-game uniforms (with 'home' and 'away' variants), the spectating camera will be greatly improved, broadcasters will be able to create instant replays mid-broadcast, tournaments will automatically pause when players disconnect, and the list goes on for quite a while.
If you're interested in all of the details you'll find the most recent Developer Update right below. That said, its important to mention that this Developer Update is all about esports, so if you were hoping to hear something about the upcoming Mercy changes I'm afraid you're out of luck. Anyway, here's the video:

Rockstar recently announced that a remastered version of L.A. Noire will be coming to modern consoles with a variety of audio and visual enhancements, including things such as 4K support for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X. While the PC version was not mentioned in the original announcement, chances are these improvements will also be heading our way somewhere down the line.
As you'll see in the most recent trailer, the graphical improvements aren't exactly massive, so hopefully the remaster will bring with it better performance and loading times as well. But enough babbling from me. You'll find the video right below, just make sure to go full screen on a 4K enabled monitor to get the best viewing experience. Have a look:

If you've already completed everything Hollow Knight has to offer, you're in luck as the developers have just unleashed the second major free update. The Grimm Troupe brings with it a new lengthy quest and accompanying boss fights, 4 new charms that each come with unique abilities and skills, a bunch of new enemies to fight and strange creatures to befriend, and perhaps most importantly for long-term players, some much-needed quality-of-life changes.
The most recent trailer won't exactly give you a good look at the gameplay side of things, but it should help you get into the right mood. You'll find it right below, along with a brief list of features and changes. Have a look:
