After expansions focused around ridiculous additions such as blimps and giant monorails, Cities: Skylines has now taken things in a much more simpler and eco-friendly direction. As you might expect from the name alone, the Green Cities expansion brings with it a variety of new structures and parks, electric cars and public transportation, alternative service buildings and specialized stores, and so forth.

If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, wonder no more as the developers have released a brief trailer highlighting all of the major additions. Have a gander, the video is only a minute long:

Besides all of the DLC features, the Green Cities expansion has also brought with it a sizable free content update. There are now electric cars and road modding, the whole noise pollution system has received a major overhaul, there are more beautification options in the form of parks and various types of trees, and the list goes on. If you're interested in all of the details you'll find the full patch notes over at Steam.

The Green Cities expansion is currently available on Windows, Mac and Linux PCs, and will set you back $13. Its admittedly a little bit pricey, but according to all of the user reviews its one of the best expansions released for Cities: Skylines, so it might be worth grabbing regardless.
