Official artwork without logo for Total War: Three Kingdom

Total War: Three Kingdoms will be making its way to PC this March 6th with quite a few interesting features in tow. Diplomacy will be getting reworked from the ground up, actions in battle will have actual consequences on the relationships of heroes that take part in them, there will be realistic and Dynasty Warrior styled game modes to satisfy both groups of fans, and the list goes on for quite a while.

So if you're wondering how one of these newly improved systems might work in-game, allow me to share with you the recently posted preview that's all about spies and playing dirty. Have a gander:

Anthem official artwork showing four different characters

BioWare's co-op focused action-RPG Anthem is set to arrive this February 22nd for both PC and consoles. It'll bring with it a variety of jetpacks which you can use to slam into every nearby wall, numerous weapons and gear to min-max, bad guys to shoot straight in the face with ridiculously oversized guns, and perhaps most interestingly of all, storytelling that is supposed to be quite similar to BioWare's previous games.

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in gameplay terms, allow me to share with you the recently posted "Story, Progression, and Customization" preview. It's quite an curious video, so if you're even remotely interested about Anthem, I'd say it's well worth a peek:

MTG Arena artwork for Rix Maadi reveler card

After quite a few teasers and previews, MTG Arena has now officially added the Ravnica Allegiance expansion alongside a massive update. You can expect to see 259 new cards to collect (111 commons, 80 uncommons, 53 rares and 15 mythic rares), a duplicate card protection system for packs, somewhat reduced rewards in Constructed Events, as well as significantly cheaper side-events.

Since the cards themselves are the most important part of this update, you should head on over to the official website in order to learn just what Ravnica Allegiance has brought with it. My personal favorite out of the bunch is Electrodominance, which besides having the perfect Izzet flavor text, also enables some truly outrageous and flashy combos - and I certainly can't say no to those!

Guild Wars 2 official screenshot of the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik

After a bit of a slowdown due to the holiday season, Guild Wars 2's main storyline has now finally received its next chapter as a part of the Episode 5: All or Nothing update. Without delving into spoilers, let's just say you can expect to see a massive battle against the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik, a new Fractal by the name of Siren's Reef, as well as a large open-world map to explore.

As is tradition, the update has also added a brand new legendary item to craft (this time it's a fancy new bow), a new mount mastery to unlock, as well as a variety of new cosmetics to play dress-up with. If you're wondering what all of this might look like in-game, allow me to share with you the recent trailer:

[Update]: 23 years later, cult classic action-adventure Outcast is soon getting a brand new sequel!

It would appear that THQ Nordic's recent and rather rapid expansion will not be slowing down in 2019. Just this past year they've revived the Darksiders series, acquired some classic IPs like TimeSplitters, Kingdoms of Amalur and Carmageddon, as well as brought Deep Silver and their Metro series under their wing. That's a whole bunch of interesting games right there, but apparently not enough for THQ Nordic!

The latest in this series of acquisitions is the sci-fi action-adventure Outcast and its modern remake Outcast - Second Contact. As is tradition, THQ Nordic has not given any details about what they plan to do with their newly acquired games, but I can only imagine they are going to be working on a sequel at some point in the future. After all, Outcast - Second Contact has some pretty favorable reviews on Steam, so the potential for success is there.

Overwatch Lunar New Year screenshot of the Lu Bu Reaper skin

I hope you have managed to stock up on in-game credits as Blizzard has just announced that Overwatch's third annual Lunar New Year event will be arriving a bit sooner than expected. Instead of early February, Blizzard has now announced that the Lunar New Year event will appear this January 24th on both PC and consoles.

While the exact details have not been announced just yet, I think it's safe to say the upcoming event will bring with it a variety of new cosmetics and emotes, all of the previous Lunar New Year skins, as well as the hopefully triumphant return of the competitive capture-the-flag mode. Given that we haven't received a new map in quite a while it's also possible that Blizzard will use this opportunity to introduce the second CTF-exclusive map, though at this point it's all pure speculation on my part.

Anthem official screenshot showing various armor sets and jetpacks

Bioware's co-op focused action-RPG Anthem is set to arrive this February 22nd for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can expect to see a whole bunch of enemies to mow down, a variety of jetpacks to mess around with, more loot than any human could ever possibly hope to carry, and perhaps most interestingly of all, a focus on classic BioWare storytelling and decision-making.

What exactly all of that will look like in gameplay terms, that still remains to be seen, but what I can tell you is what kind of PC you will need in order to have everything run nice and smooth. Here are the recommended and minimum PC system requirements:

Tropico 6 screenshot of a police blimp floating over the city

Tropico 6 was originally supposed to arrive this January 25th, but after seeing a variety of bugs and issues pop up throughout the beta, the developers have now decided to push the launch date back. The new release date has been set for March 29th, and in order to make the wait a bit more bearable, the developers have also announced that everyone who pre-ordered before January 10th will be given the first DLC entirely free of change!

"Over the holidays, I have played Tropico 6 for many hours and really liked what I saw," reads the official update. "But, in my humble opinion, it is not enough to like a game – I want to love it! And Tropico 6 is good, but not very good, or outstanding. Yet."

Artifact screenshot of the Axe hero card

While Artifact is still in dire need of major updates, you might be glad to hear that Valve has now finally increased the speed of matches. The tournament timer now grants only 30 seconds per round (down from 1 minute) and starts at 2:30 (down from 3:00), while the standard timer now only grants 1 minute per round (down from 2) and starts at 3:00 (down from 5:00). Furthermore, in order to make complex decks more manageable under the new system, each time you receive the coin the clock will be extended by 5 seconds.

Draft and Constructed gauntlets will now use the tournament timer rather than the standard timer, while the Call to Arms and Global Matchmaking will continue to use the now-updated standard timer. While these are relatively small changes in the grand scheme of things, they should hopefully prevent some Artifact matches from dragging on forever, as well as make the whole thing a bit less mentally taxing.

Resident Evil 2 remake screenshot of zombies in police uniforms

The Resident Evil 2 remake will be making its way to both PC and consoles this January 25th, bringing with it a whole host of improvements and changes over the original. You can expect to see greatly enhanced visuals and audio, better voice acting, support for modern resolutions and 60 FPS, as well as some rather significant tweaks to the movement and combat controls.

If you're wondering what all of this looks like in gameplay terms, as well as whether the Resident Evil 2 remake is able to match up to its predecessor, I am glad to say that you can now easily find out by playing the free demo. Simply head on over to Steam (or your console's marketplace) before January 31st, and you'll be mess around with the "1-Shot Demo" after a brief download.
