Earth Defense Force 4.1 Time of the Mutants DLC - Spider

Earth Defense Force 4.1 recently launched with ~80 missions, four different classes and ~800 weapons to toy around with, so it definitely isn't lacking in terms of content. However, if you've managed to burst through all of the missions and are now left without insects to squash, the Time of the Mutants DLC is set to arrive later today.

While the details are still unknown, the Steam store page boasts 26 new missions, all designed to be the most intense and challenging trials the EDF has ever faced. "They're really, really, REALLY hard".

Blizzard has announced all of the "One Night in Kharazan" Hearthstone cards

Hearthstone's One Night in Kharazan expansion

Hearthstone's upcoming "One Night in Kharazan" Adventure has been greatly teased over the past two weeks as Blizzard slowly revealed card after card, but thankfully the brief period of madness and rampant rumors is now finally over as the most recent developer stream brought with it the announcement of the last few cards. If you would like to get a good look at all of them, simply head over to the official Hearthstone Facebook page.

While the release of ~40 new cards would usually be cause for celebration amidst the Hearthstone community, especially since they come alongside a rather funky Adventure, that is unfortunately not the case as Blizzard has managed to once again neglect the Priest class by printing exactly the types of cards it doesn't need: the slow and situational ones. Things don't end there, however, as Priests who are objectively the worst class in the game right now (both in Constructed and Arena) are also getting one of the worst cards ever to grace Hearthstone - Purify.

In order to show exactly how terrible Purify is and why the Priest players are so angry, here's a little comparison between it and the Menagerie Warden, a brand new beast Druid card:

Phantaruk, a sci-fi survival horror, is coming to Steam on August 16

Phantaruk is a sci-fi survival horror game

Phantaruk is an upcoming sci-fi survival horror that takes place in one of the most terrifying locations known to the genre - a derelict star ship. There is no room to hide, the utilitarian design leaves little room for cheerful scenery, you can't leave unless you've suddenly developed space-gills, and worst of all, there is no limit to the amount of monstrosities that might populate the darkest reaches of space.

Since simply talking about horror games is rarely an effective way of letting you know what its all about, here's the recent trailer to properly set the scene:

Blizzard has announced the end date for Overwatch's first competitive season, as well as the rewards

Overwatch's Lucio fighting Tracer

Overwatch's first competitive season was slightly rushed to the starting line given the overwhelming community demand, and while it was mostly alright there are certain aspects of it that were and still are straight up infuriating. Who doesn't love having nearly every Payload map resolved through a 50:50 coin flip?

Thankfully, Blizzard is aware of these issues and once the competitive servers finally go down on August 17th (5:00 pm PT) they will begin implementing a variety of fixes in order to ensure that the second season, which starts on September 6th, will offer a fair and balanced competitive environment.

On the more interesting side of things, however, Blizzard has also revealed what sort of prizes the players can expect to see once Season 1 ends. You will find the list down below, but just keep in mind that only your historically highest rating is being considered, so don't worry if you've encountered a slump as you'll still receive an appropriate reward:

Two Demons from the new Doom game

With QuakeCon 2016 currently in full swing, it only makes sense that Bethesda has decided to let everyone experience a taste of the action by reducing the price of pretty much every single one of their games by 40-50%. You can find all of the games currently on sale by heading over to the QuakeCon section on Steam.

Since pretty much the entirety of Bethesda's catalog is currently on offer, you should be able to find exactly the type of game you're interested in, but if you're struggling to find the right balance between price and enjoyment, here's a couple of suggestions:

Rift's massive Starfall Prophecy expansion is set to launch this fall

Rift's Starfall Prophecy expansion screenshot showing off a demon

Rift has seen many changes and content updates ever since it transitioned to free-to-play back in 2013, but the upcoming premium expansion Starfall Prophecy is set to blow all of that out of the water by drastically increasing the map size and adding a whole bunch of new features.

In short, Starfall Prophecy brings with it five massive new zones to explore, two dungeons and a raid to bash your head against, as well as new Looking for Raid and Personal Loot systems to ensure all of that exploring goes by smoothly. On the less... tangible side of things, the addition of multicore support and 64-bit client technology should mean that the performance will increase across the board.

If you're interested in getting a bit of a sneak peek at Starfall Prophecy, here's the recently posted and all too brief teaser trailer:

Doom's Unto The Evil Harvester demon

Doom's first premium multiplayer DLC "Unto The Evil" has arrived today with three new maps (Cataclysm, Offering, and Ritual), a new weapon in the form of the UAC EMG Pistol (very similar to the peashooter you start the campaign with), as well as a new piece of equipment, the Kinetic Mine. Also, if you enjoy dressing up your Doom Marine in ridiculous outfits and color patterns, you'll be glad to hear that there's a whole bunch of new cosmetic additions here as well.

Rather than simply talk about all these new features, here's the release trailer that goes over every single one in brief, hopefully giving you an idea if Unto The Evil is something you would enjoy or not:
