Earth Defense Force 4.1's second DLC pack "Extreme Battle" has arrived to PC with 23 new missions

Two weeks have passed since Earth Defense Force 4.1 received Time of the Mutants, its first DLC pack, and already there is a second one available. While you certainly won't see me complain about games getting more content, Earth Defense Force has taken things to the extreme by nearly doubling in size within the span of a single month.
As for the newly released Mission Pack 2: Extreme Battle, it contains 23 new missions that will have you face off against every bug, robot and battleship the Ravagers are capable of mustering. More importantly, however, these missions are supposed to be some of the toughest challenges you'll face, so if you do decide to play them make sure you're aware of what you're getting into.
Eternal Crusade, a Warhamer 40,000 themed shooter, is leaving Early Access on September 23rd

[Update]: After many struggles, Warhammer 40k: Eternal Crusade has now closed its doors.
Eternal Crusade is a squad-based Warhammer 40,000 shooter where Space Marines, Chaos, Orks and Eldar vie for supremacy over a ravaged world. While Eternal Crusade was initially going to be an MMO shooter, something similar to Planetside 2, a variety of issues throughout development resulted in it become more alike your standard third person shooter, though with far more extravagant weaponry given the Warhammer 40,000 setting.
As I've mentioned in my review, Eternal Crusade is currently fairly intriguing as it has all of the elements of a good shooter, but also a whole lot of issues with polish, performance, balance and game design in general. Thankfully, its still in early alpha so the developers have plenty of time to fix all of that before release... or they would if they didn't just announce Eternal Crusade is officially launching on September 23rd!
Worms W.M.D, a return to the classic 2D Worms formula, is now available on PC and consoles

[Update]: A brand new Worms game has now been announced - Worms 2020.
Team17 has created a plethora of Worms games over the years, but none of them have ever come even close to sparking the same level of excitement within me as the old school classic - Worms: Armageddon. There is just something timeless about a "simple" 2D game where hordes of suicidal worms throw everything and anything at each other, often with completely ridiculous and unintended results.
If you share a similar sort of viewpoint you'll be glad to hear that Worms W.M.D, in many ways a new and improved version of Worms: Armageddon, has been released for the PC and consoles and mere few hours ago. Here's the completely cheesy launch trailer to clue you in on what exactly Worms W.M.D is all about:
Elite: Dangerous devs have detailed all of the upcoming features and quality of life changes

Elite: Dangerous is a bit of a polarizing game. It contains a truly wast and immersive universe to explore, and more importantly, some great gameplay mechanics to make all of that space-trucking a rather enjoyable experience... so what exactly is the issue here? Well, Elite: Dangerous suffers from a severe lack of content, and even after playing for a short while you are most likely going to start realizing how shallow the universe really is and how much grinding is required before you get anywhere.
Thankfully, the developers do seem to be aware of all these complaints as they have announced a whole bunch of new features and quality of life changes during this year's Gamescom. If you're interested in an obscenely detailed look into all of them, you'll find a playlist of developer videos right below. On the other hand, if you're without an hour to spare I'll also include a brief summary:
Agony is an upcoming survival horror game set in the burning depths of hell, of all places

There are many survival horror games out there that can proudly claim their nightmarish worlds are downright hellish, but to my knowledge there aren't that many that have actually decided to go the distance. Well... Agony has!
As you've probably realized from the title alone, Agony is an upcoming survival horror game set in the most terrifying location imaginable - an extremely twisted version of hell that wouldn't be amiss as a representation of Warhammer 40,000's Warp. Rather than simply describe it, however, allow me to instead present you with the recent gameplay video. Needless to say, its is not safe for work! Have a look:
Faeria, a robust card/strategy game, is going free-to-play tomorrow (August 24)

With Hearthstone currently sitting comfortably as the most played digital card game it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that there are numerous contenders for the throne out there. More importantly, all of them are quite eager to nab even a fraction of Hearthstone's playerbase by offering something new and different.
It is exactly that last part that Faeria focuses on as it isn't simply a card game, but rather a strange mixture between a classic collectible card game and a strategy orientated board game. Since explaining this whole concept is fairly hard in words alone, here's the relatively recent Early Access trailer to hopefully give you a good idea of what Faeria is all about:
Riverbond is a newly announced action-adventure set in a rather charming voxel world

Riverbond is a newly announced singleplayer action-adventure set in a rather charming and fairly destructible voxel world. The focus, as you might imagine, is placed squarely on the exploration, storytelling, and naturally, the occasional bouts of combat.
Rather than simply ramble on about what exactly Riverbond is, allow me to share with you the announcement trailer. It should give you a fairly good idea of what sort of a game Riverbond really is, and more importantly, how peculiar all of it looks. Here's the video:
