The critically acclaimed samurai action-RPG Nioh will be coming to PC this November

The samurai action-RPG Nioh released on the PlayStation 4 back in February to some overwhelmingly positive reviews. As such, I am beyond delighted to say that Nioh and all of its DLC will be making its way to PC next month!
Besides all of the content bundled into one neat package, the PC version of Nioh will also bring with it improved performance, high-resolution graphics, and naturally, support for 4K resolutions. Depending on your PC configuration you will have two options to choose from: Action Mode that ensures a stable 60fps, and Movie Mode that goes all-out in terms of visuals. A bit of a strange way of doing things, I must admit, but if the Action Mode can truly keep the framerate stable on middling configurations I'll be more than happy.
Assassin's Creed: Origins now has a new video showing off the improved stealth gameplay

Instead of the usual 1-on-1 dueling, Assassin's Creed: Origins will bring with it a much more tactical combat system that rewards positioning, timing, and clever usage of gadgets above all else. While this is definitely a step forward for the series it also represents a significant increase in difficulty as you'll no longer be able to jump in the middle of fifteen enemies, fully secure in the knowledge that you can slap them away one-by-one. In order to survive under this new system you will have to make good use out of stealth, and thankfully there appear to be quite a few new tools and abilities that help you do just that.
So if you're interested in seeing what the stealth gameplay in Assassin's Creed: Origins will look like, allow me to share with you the recently posted developer preview. Its not an overly long video, but it should give you a pretty good idea of the kind of options you will have when doing a stealth playthrough. Have a look:
The Overwatch PTR has been updated with a rather large nerf to Mercy's ultimate
- By Ash
- in News
The recent Overwatch update brought with it a major Mercy rework that made her a lot more proactive and a lot more enjoyable to play. She no longer had to spend extended periods of time hiding and waiting for her team to die, she could actually contribute to the fight directly! Unfortunately, while the idea behind these changes was great, the numbers themselves were so overtuned that Mercy ended up being a mandatory pick across all skill tiers, from Bronze to Grandmaster.
With that in mind, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Mercy's ultimate has now been significantly nerfed. It no longer resets or lowers the cooldown on Resurrection, but instead it doubles the ability's range, which I must admit is a bit of a strange choice given that you mostly use Guardian Angel to fly to dead teammates.
Scorn is a highly atmospheric first-person horror game with H.R. Giger inspired visuals

[Update]: Scorn has now finally arrived, though I'm afraid it has done so alongside some rather harsh criticism.
As the title would suggest, Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror game set in a nightmarish universe that greatly reminds me of H.R. Giger's work, mostly notably the "Space Jockey" scene in Alien. Besides looking downright unsettling, Scorn is designed with exploration and passive storytelling in mind. In other words, expect to spend a lot of time roaming through its vast and interconnected world, slowly piecing together just how screwed your character truly is.
Since trying to explain an atmospheric horror game through words alone is ultimately a pointless venture, allow me to share with you the recently posted gameplay video. Its a little bit on the lengthy side, but it will give you a pretty damn good idea of what Scorn is all about and why exactly I'm comparing it to Alien. Have a look, its quite an interesting trailer:
Grim Dawn's massive Ashes of Malmouth expansion will be coming next week

If you've completed everything Grim Dawn has to offer, you'll be glad to hear that there is a brand new expansion just around the corner. The rather ominously-sounding Ashes of Malmouth will expand the basic map size and content by around 50%, as well as offer some of the greatest challenges in Grim Dawn's history.
The level cap will be increase to 100 while the Devotion cap will go up to 55, and there will also be two new Masteries to mess around with: the Inquisitor and Necromancer. As with all of the other Masteries, these two can be combined with the original ones in order to create some rather unique and interesting character. And speaking of uniqueness, Ashes of Malmouth will bring with it a brand-new Illusionist NPC that allows you to customize your appearance with item skins you've collected across all of your characters. Its a tiny little change, but its an important one. After all, nobody wants to go out slaying demons looking like a clown!
You have two more days to grab Rise of the Tomb Raider for $12 via the Humble Monthly Bundle

The Humble Monthly Bundle is a $12 subscription service that instantly gives you access to one game, and then a whole bunch more once the next month rolls over. With October now well underway the September Monthly Bundle is slowly coming to a close, so if you want to grab Rise of the Tomb Raider and its accompanying bonus games you'll need to do so within the next 2 days!
Whether Rise of the Tomb Raider is worth the money, however, that's a bit of a tricky question to answer. Rise of the Tomb Raider is not one of those games that will remain as a permanent part of gaming history, but if you've enjoyed the modern Tomb Raider reboot or if you're a fan of adventure/exploration games in general, then I'd say its well worth grabbing regardless. This goes doubly so when you consider all of the bonus games you'll get in a couple of days.
Don't Starve is getting a massive singleplayer expansion full of aristocratic Pigmen - The Hamlet
- By Ash
- in News
Don't Starve might be a fairly ancient game by this point, but Klei Entertainment aren't showing any signs of slowing down when it comes to new content. The most recent Shipwrecked expansion will soon be getting a whole bunch of new features and items, Don't Starve Together will be getting difficult and time-limited events, and if that wasn't enough, there is also a massive new expansion on the horizon - Hamlet!
The details are still a bit shaky, but what I can tell you is that this singleplayer DLC will add a variety of new jungle biomes, as well as a long lost city of aristocratic Pigmen. Expect to see a ton of new items, ancient Pigmen ruins full of treasure and most likely curses, and naturally, a whole bunch of new and extremely dangerous enemies to constantly run away from. You can get a brief glimpse at what all of this looks like via the recently posted teaser trailer down below, though I'm afraid there isn't any actual gameplay footage:
