After quite a few years in development, the H.R. Giger inspired horror-adventure Scorn has now finally been unleashed onto PC and Xbox. As you would expect from that description alone, Scorn is all about wandering through disturbingly fleshy landscapes, solving a variety of bizarre puzzles, as well as facing off against an assortment of mutated monstrosities with highly limited ammo and resources.

What all of this looks like in action, as well as what kind of atmosphere Scorn is going for, that you can find out through the freshly posted launch trailer. Have a gander:

I haven't played Scorn myself so take the following with a few grains of salt, but so far it looks like it has absolutely nailed the visuals and atmosphere, yet messed things up when it comes to the actual gameplay. From what I can tell, the main complaints seem to be that the combat is too clunky, the puzzles too simplistic, and the overall length too short to justify the current 36€ price tag.

While I'm sure that some of these issues have been overblown, as is often the case with any sort of divisive game, I'd still recommend doing a bit of extra research before diving into Scorn. Or, if you really want to play it safe, it might be a good idea to wait until it goes on sale. This way some the gameplay issues are undoubtedly going to be patched out by the time you start playing, while the lower price tag should make the short length a whole lot easier to bear.

Whatever your plans may be, you can learn more about Scorn and check out some of the player reviews over at Steam. Enjoy!
