Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice official screenshot of a combat encounter against a boss

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is set to arrive this March 22nd for both PC and consoles, bringing with it a bit of a different experience than Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Besides the story playing a much bigger role, the combat in Sekiro will be a lot more mobile and aggressive than in its predecessors, a trend FromSoftware has been on since the transition from Dark Souls 1 to 2.

If you're wondering what this style of combat might look like in gameplay terms, as well as what Sekiro's story will be about, allow me to share with you the recently posted launch trailer. Have a gander, it's a really interesting one:

Personally, this trailer fills me with a great deal of hope for both Sekiro and FromSoftware. They could've simply made it "Dark Souls 4" and I honestly doubt anyone would complain, but instead FromSoftware decided to take a risk and push the combat system even further, with the end result being quite impressive indeed. So while I can't judge Sekiro's quality without actually playing it, I am more than happy with the direction FromSoftware has taken the whole 'Souls' series in, if you can even call it that at this point.

My musings aside, you can learn a little bit more about Sekiro, as well as grab yourself a copy once it becomes available, over at Steam.
