Apex Legends official artwork for the new character Octane

If you've been paying attention to Apex Legends news recently, then chances are you're well aware of a variety of leaks that have happened one after another. I personally found them to be a bit dubious so I chose not to cover them, but as it turns out, that was a massive misjudgment on my part as they have all ended up being mostly true!

According to a bunch of images that have appeared on both the Origin client and the Apex Legends website (which have now been taken down), the Season 1 Battle Pass is just around the corner, perhaps even launching tomorrow as one of the earlier leaks suggested. It will set you back 950 Apex Coins ($10), and give you a chance to acquire a variety of in-game loot and cosmetics. Apparently one of the images also mentioned you would be able to acquire Apex Coins as well, but that was taken down before I could even see it, so take that one with a grain of salt.

As for the brand new character Octane, nothing has been revealed so far, but I can share what was leaked a while back. His passive ability will allow him to slowly regenerate health, while his active ability will let him sacrifice 10% his health in order to gain a 30% speed boost for 6 seconds. In order to complement this sort of "gotta go fast" playstyle, Octane's ultimate will be a deployable jump pad that catapults anyone stepping onto it through the air at high speed.

While this is all very likely to be true, I would still recommend against getting too excited about any specific detail as it might be a complete fabrication, or simply changed since the original leak. Whatever the case may be, I'll make sure to let you know once Respawn finally unleashes the official announcement. Until then, have fun speculating!
