Empire of Sin is an upcoming turn-based strategy about building a criminal empire

[Update #2]: Empire of Sin has now been pinned for a December 1, 2020 release date.

[Update]: Empire of Sin has now been delayed until fall of 2020 in order to give the developers enough time to polish everything up.

While there are quite a few turn-based strategy games available these days, very few of them devote any serious time or effort to non-combat elements. If you feel like that's a bit of a waste of potential, you might be interested to hear that Romero Games are currently working on Empire of Sin - a turn-based strategy game where combat and management stand shoulder to shoulder.

You'll be expected to make and break alliances, bribe cops and stay out of the public eye, spread your influence and recruit a variety of seedy characters, and perhaps most interestingly of all, ensure through any means necessary that your newfound allies remain loyal. Once diplomacy and sheer intimidation fail, however, you will need to resort to a rather familiar turn-based combat system in order to deal with your enemies and expand your territory.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint's newest preview shows off what the PvP modes have to offer

[Update]: Ubisoft has now released an extremely detailed list of PC system requirements and recommendations for Ghost Recon Breakpoint!

During the recent Gamescom stream Ubisoft has announced that the upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint will feature two PvP modes for players to compete in. The first will be Elimination, a team deathmatch mode where the constantly shrinking map area will force players to get into increasingly more desperate battles as the match progresses.

Sabotage, the second PvP mode, will be an asymmetrical mode with quite a few similarities to Counter-Strike. In other words, one team will need to successfully detonate a bomb at one of two bomb sites, while the other team will have to do everything in their power to prevent that from happening. A fairly simple game mode, but certainly an exciting one if properly balanced.

[Update #2]: I'm happy to say that World of Warcraft: Classic has now been officially released and that the servers are practically overflowing with players!

[Update]: Blizzard has announced they will be adding a whole bunch of new WoW Classic servers on August 26th, right before launch!

World of Warcraft: Classic is set to release on August 26th, bringing with it an almost perfect recreation of the original World of Warcraft experience. In order to celebrate this momentous occasion, as well as to give the community a chance to ask some of the most pressing questions, the WoW Classic team has recently held a Q&A.

You can find the full list of questions and answers over at the official forums, and I would highly recommend giving them a look as they offer some pretty good insights into the development process behind WoW Classic and the team's overall goals. But for now, however, I would like to highlight Blizzard's response to the all-important layering question:

As previously announced, Destiny 2 will be leaving Blizzard's BattleNet platform and transferring over to Steam on October 1st. Once this happens, Destiny 2 will also be adapting a free-to-play model with optional expansions, introducing a whole bunch of sweeping changes, as well as adding the long-awaited Shadowkeep expansion pack.

In order to have your BattleNet characters survive the move to Steam you'll need to link your two accounts over at the Destiny 2 website. Once you've done this successfully, your player account, expansions, currency, annual pass and that sort of stuff will be fully available once Destiny 2 launches on Steam.

Roguelike strategy game Dicey Dungeons has now been released from Early Access

[Update #2]: Three years after launch, Dicey Dungeons has just added a chunky free DLC - Reunion.

[Update]: Dicey Dungeons Patch 1.9 has improved mod support, added new rules, and fixed over 200 bugs!

If you're up for a roguelike game that's a little bit out of the ordinary, you might want to check out the newly released Dicey Dungeons. As the name itself would imply, the entire game revolves around dice and dice rolls, to the point that even the main characters themselves are sentient dice!

However, despite every single facet of Dicey Dungeons being dominated by random dice rolls, I am both surprised and pleased to say that the actual gameplay is quite strategic. Sure, you'll still have to deal with a constant stream of random numbers, but through various abilities and items it is entirely possible to mitigate the randomness and execute whatever strategy you have going for you.
