Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm has unlocked every character until April 2nd

If you're in the mood for giving Heroes of the Storm a try and seeing what exactly Blizzard's entry has done to the MOBA genre, this would be the perfect time to do so. In order to encourage everyone to stay indoors as much as possible, Blizzard has unlocked every single character until April 2nd.

This might not sound like a big deal, but since each character can take a considerable amount of playtime (or money) to unlock, having access to all of them is actually quite handy. This goes doubly so for new players as the initial roster is heavily restricted and often devoid of some of the more interesting and technical characters.

VR's biggest and most ambitious game yet, Half-Life: Alyx, has now been released

[Update #2]: Valve has added over three hours of Developer Commentary for Half-Life: Alyx!

[Update]: Valve has now released the official modding tools and Workshop support for Half-Life: Alyx!

After what feels like an eternity of waiting, a brand new Half-Life game has now finally arrived. However, instead of continuing on from Episode 2's cliffhanger, the VR-focused Half-Life: Alyx is a prequel that takes place between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, and follows the titular Alyx Vance as she attempts to weaken the Combine's grip on City 17.

What truly sets Half-Life: Alyx apart is not the story or even the Half-Life name, but rather the simple fact that it's one of the very first big-budgeted VR games with a decent length to it. Valve really has poured in a ton of time and effort into making Half-Life: Alyx a flagship game for VR, and from what I've seen so far, I'm pleased to say they have managed to do just that!

Week 4 of Overwatch Hero Bans has removed D.Va and most of the popular hitscan DPS heroes

[Update]: An experimental update has now arrived with significant Ashe and Pharah buffs, so it would appear that the whole Hero Pools experiment was quite successful!

When Blizzard first announced weekly hero bans, they said they were going to heavily experiment with the concept in order to see what works best. Well, if Week 4 is any indicator, they certainly weren't joking!

As a part of this week's Hero Pool, D.Va, Mccree, Soldier 76, Sombra, Widowmaker and Baptiste have all been rotated out of Competitive Play. Needless to say, removing most hitscan heroes and D.Va is going to create a drastically different meta, one where highly aggressive but vulnerable heroes like Pharah, Genji, or Wrecking Ball can dominate.

World of Warcraft has added a stacking 100% Experience Buff for all players

[Update #2]: The double experience event has been extended all the way until the Shadowlands pre-patch!

[Update]: Blizzard is also adding 'Legacy Loot' for Legion raids and dungeons. In other words, you'll now have an easier time getting some fancy new cosmetics for your alts!

If you ever wanted to introduce some friends to World of Warcraft's end-game, or simply level an army of alt characters to 120, this would be the ideal time. In order to encourage everyone to stay inside, Blizzard has now added a 100% experience buff for all players.

In reality, that bonus is even higher as this new experience buffs will stack with Heirlooms. Combine that with the currently ongoing Timewalking Dungeon event, and you can essentially speedrun your way to level 120, all the while earning new cosmetics and mounts from Timewarped Badges and the dungeons themselves. A pretty good deal, if you ask me!

The excellent Tomb Raider 2013 is free to grab on Steam until March 24th

For those of you currently stuck indoors and looking for something fun to do, I'm happy to say that the excellent Tomb Raider reboot from 2013 is currently entirely free to grab. Simply head on over to Steam, click on the giant "Add to Account" button, and you'll be able to raid a surprisingly small amount of tombs in no time.

There is one catch, however, and that's the simple fact that Tomb Raider will only stay free until March 24th. That said, you'll still be able to play it afterwards, even if you didn't install it immediately, as long as you added it to your account. So if you're interested, make sure to do it sooner rather than later, lest you forget.

Resident Evil 3's demo has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it's pretty darn good

Resident Evil 3 screenshot of Nemesis from up close

[Update]: Resident Evil 3 and its companion Resident Evil 3 Resistance have been released, though sadly they don't seem to have lived up to the high standards set by Resident Evil 2.

After quite a few rumors and teasers, the Resident Evil 3 demo has now finally been unleashed. It features around 20-30 minutes of gameplay and will give you a chance to toy around with a whole horde of zombies, figure out the best usage of environmental traps, as well as flee in terror from the big boy himself - Nemesis.

Perhaps most importantly, the Resident Evil 3 demo is not time-limited! So while you can't progress past the fire hydrant area, you can replay it indefinitely and explore the decently-sized chunk of Raccoon City to your heart's content. And yes, this does mean you can potentially run from Nemesis for hours on end, if you're so inclined.
