Cult classic RPG Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is getting a full-on remaster

[Update #2]: Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning has now arrived alongside some fairly minor upgrades.

[Update]: Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning release date has been moved to September 8th, and there is also a brand new expansion in the works!

While Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was originally supposed to be an MMORPG, a ton of behind-the-scenes problems resulted in it getting downgraded into a fairly standard action-RPG. However, while Kingdoms of Amalur may not have broken the mold and introduced something truly innovative into the genre, it did end up as an extremely solid RPG with a fun combat system and cheerful visuals. Because of this, it remains a bit of a cult classic to this very day.

Given that the studio closed down shortly after finishing it, usually this would be where the story ends. Thankfully, THQ Nordic picked up the IP a little while back, and after quite a lot of work has now also come out to announce that they will soon be releasing a full-on remaster called Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning!

Sea of Thieves has been available for quite a while now through either the Microsoft Store or the Xbox One, but if you're not a fan of either platform, you'll be happy to hear that it has finally docked onto Steam as well. Best of all, there is cross-play between all three versions! So no matter which system or storefront you decide to play from, you'll still be able mess around with your friends.

If you don't know much about Sea of Thieves, or if you simply need a bit of a refresher, allow me to also share the recently posted Steam trailer. Have a little peek, it's a rather short one:

[Update]: The Master Mirror expansion has now gone live with over 70 new cards to play around with!

When it comes to villains in The Witcher 3, none are nearly as memorable or as effective as Gaunter O’Dimm. As such, I am delighted to say that he's getting an entire Gwent expansion to play around with - Master Mirror!

Expect to see over 70 new cards to experiment with, many of which will have an assortment of new effects and mechanics to shake up the gameplay. Most excitingly of all, there will be a brand new legendary card type that evolves in both appearance and power as the match progresses, giving you even more options to play around with!

With the Workshop's one year anniversary now behind us, Blizzard has taken the time to highlight some of the most popular, user-made modes currently available on the Workshop. Here's the full list, as well as the code you'll need in order to play them:

After spending about a year being exclusively available on the Apple Arcade, Shantae and the Seven Sirens has now finally made its way to both PC and consoles. As you would expect from a Shantae game, the freshly released Seven Sirens is a colorful romp through a vast and interconnected world which can be traversed by swapping between a variety of unique animal forms.

You can get a pretty good idea of what all of that looks like in action, as well as how charming Shantae and the Seven Sirens really is, through the recently posted launch trailer. Have a peek:

[Update]: The C&C Remastered Collection has now arrived, and thankfully, it's pretty darn good!

If you're in the mood for some truly oldschool RTS action, you'll be happy to hear that the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is nearly upon us. Expect to see it arrive this June 5th with remastered visuals, all three expansion packs, as well as rebuilt multiplayer.

You'll also be able to enjoy a large bonus gallery of unreleased footage and behind-the-scenes content, over seven hours of remastered music by Frank Klepacki, quick save and auto save support, a variety of accessibility features and in-game tooltips, and the list goes on for a while. Long story short, unless Petroglyph manages to make each PC self-immolate upon installation, the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection should be a pretty darn good one!

[Update #2]: Total War: Troy's Amazons DLC will be free to grab just like the base game.

[Update]: Creative Assembly has now released the gameplay preview as well, and sadly it's a bit of a mixed bag.

In a bit of a surprising announcement, Creative Assembly has revealed that Total War: Troy will be an Epic Games Store exclusive for 12 months. However, what came as a real shock is that they also said it will be entirely free to grab during the first 24 hours after launch!

So whether you're a fan of Total War games or not, you should definitely put a pin on August 13th as that's when Total War: Troy will be unleashed upon the world. As for the inevitable Steam version, it'll come exactly one year after the Epic one - on August 13, 2021.
