Elite: Dangerous studio's Warhammer Age of Sigmar strategy game has been pushed back to late 2023

Even though it was announced two years ago, we've heard very little about Frontier Developments' upcoming Warhammer Age of Sigmar real-time strategy game since then. As such, it should come as little surprise to hear that they have now pushed its release date back to the latter part of 2023.

"This change will further improve the quality and longevity of the game, and overall make it more successful," explains the official trading update. I would love to tell you more, but I'm afraid that outside of the game being an "immersive and accessible" strategy game the details are pretty much nonexistent.

[Update #2]: I have some bad news to deliver - The Settlers reboot has now been postponed due to negative beta feedback.

[Update]: The Closed Beta has now begun and will be active until January 24th.

Ubisoft's big reboot of The Settlers was originally supposed to release back in 2019, but unfortunately it ran into some development issues and was thus delayed time and time again. The long wait is now finally over, however, as Ubisoft has finally given us a proper launch date - March 17, 2022!

Best of all, not only will The Settlers be launching in a mere two months, but there is also a closed beta coming next week! The beta will feature two skirmish maps and two factions with which you will be able to either battle the AI or your fellow players in 1v1 and 2v2 game modes.

If Back 4 Blood and World War Z's recent Aftermath expansion haven't sated your thirst for Left 4 Dead inspired co-op shooters, you'll be happy to hear a brand new one is nearly upon us. That last part isn't an exaggeration either, as the retro-futuristic The Anacrusis is set to launch into Early Access within the next hour!

As you might imagine given its roots, The Anacrusis is a heavily co-op focused experience that will have you fight against hordes upon hordes of enemies whilst the 'AI Driver' does its best to provide an ever-increasing challenge. Along the way you'll also be able to acquire a variety of new gear and upgrades to help spice things up, all of which will be randomly placed around to ensure no two runs are ever the same.

After about two years in Early Access, the space-based 'faffing about' simulator is now slowly getting ready for its big Update 1.0. Once it arrives at some point in Spring 2022, the official launch will bring with it the conclusion of Hardspace: Shipbreaker's storyline, as well as the long-awaited ability to save ships in progress.

Additionally, since one of Hardspace: Shipbreaker's major issues are the ever-present bugs, Update 1.0 will also bring with it "tons and tons of bug fixes, optimizations and stability improvements." And just for good measure, there will also be a variety of tweaks to the in-game progression in order to make players less impacted by the randomized salvage value and composition of ships.

Given the ever-increasing competition in the Battle Royale genre, it should come as little surprise to hear that PUBG: Battlegrounds has now gone free-to-play. As such, from this point forward anyone on any platform can simply create a PUBG account and instantly dive into the action.

As a small token of appreciation to veteran players, anyone who has purchased PUBG: Battlegrounds before this point will be granted a variety of cosmetic items, as well as the freshly unleashed Battlegrounds Plus upgrade. The latter offers a 100% experience boost, the ability join ranked matches and create custom games, along with a couple of extra cosmetic items and 1300 coins.

If you were hoping to get your hands on Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl this April 28th, I'm afraid I have somewhat bad news to deliver. According to the newest developer update, the post-apocalyptic survival-horror has now been pushed back to December 8th, 2022.

"These additional seven months of development are needed to fulfill our vision and achieve the desired state of the game," reads the brief update. "Stalker 2 is the biggest project in the history of GSC, and it requires thorough testing and polishing. We are convinced that development should take as long as necessary, especially in the case of such a project."

PC version of Monster Hunter Rise has now landed onto Steam without too much trouble

[Update #2]: Monster Hunter Rise's Sunbreak expansion has now landed onto PC alongside some technical troubles.

[Update]: My review of Monster Hunter Rise (PC) has now been released, and I'm very happy to say that it's a great port for a compelling yet somewhat unambitious Monster Hunter game.

After about a year of Nintendo Switch exclusivity, Monster Hunter Rise has now finally made its way to PC as well. The freshly released PC port brings with it support for 4k resolutions, high-res textures, uncapped framerates, ultrawide support, as well as an assortment of customization options to play around with.

Perhaps most importantly, unlike Monster Hunter: World which took a great deal of time to reach parity with the console version, Monster Hunter Rise is almost there! All of the content up to Patch 3.6.1 is already available, while full parity between the two versions will be achieved by the end of February 2022.
