[Update]: Ninja Theory is working on a highly ambitious sequel to Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is one of those games I would love to see more of. It had a very specific story it wanted to tell, a fairly modest budget to do so with, a whole lot of creativity behind it, and perhaps most importantly for us customers, a highly appropriate price tag. Did it end up being perfect? Not at all, but it's a lot easier to overlook any problems when a game is both affordable and oozing with creativity.
With that in mind, I am delighted to announce that Ninja Theory's Hellblade has now reached the rather impressive 1 million copies sold milestone! Naturally, this is across all three platforms (PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4), but it is still an impressive achievement and one that should be celebrated.
Speaking of which, if you would like to give Hellblade a try and also help the developers by increasing the number ever so slightly, you might be interested to hear that it's currently on a 40% discount on Steam. This brings down the price to €18, so if you're even remotely interested I would recommend you go and give it a look. Just don't get scared off by the idea of permanently dying - there's almost no chance that'll happen to you unless you're willingly throwing your life away, time and time again.
And just for good measure, I'll leave you with one of my favorite developer diaries. The whole video is 9 minutes long and tells the story of how Ninja Theory's video editor Melina Juergens ended up being the actress for Senua despite never actually applying to do so. Enjoy!
