Golden Joystick is giving away Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition

Dark Souls 1 might genuinely be my favorite game ever made. Its not perfect, and it is a bit cruel to new players, but if you can get past its one of the most compelling and complex action RPGs ever made, with enough depth to its combat to keep you coming back for more every few months.

Which is why I'm delighted to tell you that the Golden Joystick Store is currently offering Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for free to EU/UK residents. Here's how to grab it:

[Update]: Mere minutes after posting this, the promotion has ended. I'll leave the article up just in case Golden Joystick decides to restart it during the next couple of days.

Total War: Warhammer release date & system requirements released

If after watching the recent battle showcase you thought that Total War: Warhammer was a bit rough around the edges, and that it might not have enough time to iron out all the kinks by April, I have some excellent news for you.

According to a press release sent out today, Total War: Warhammer is being delayed until May 24th in order to ensure that the classic Total War launch disaster doesn't strike once again. Here's the short message announcing the delay and a detailed list of the PC system requirements:

Hearthstone is adding deck recipes to help new players

One of the main issues that plagues new Hearthstone players is the inability to create competitive decks (or even remotely playable ones), a fact that becomes even more problematic when you realize how utterly terrible the current in-game suggestion tool is.

After many, many months of waiting Blizzard has finally announced Deck Recipes as an answer to the age old Hearthstone problem. Here's a brief overview of what exactly Deck Recipes will entail:

Prison Architect hidden 3 Mode

Many games out there have hidden levels, or small little Easter eggs put in to reward the most dedicated of players, but how many can claim they have an entire dimension secluded away?

As it turns out, Prison Architect belongs in this very exclusive and completely made up club because a Youtuber by the name of TheLogical Lowdown has managed to find a hidden 3D mode in the popular prison management sim. Have a look:

Just Cause 3 PC performance patch is now live

Just Cause 3 has had a rocky launch, to put things lightly, with many people (including me) having annoyingly long load times, random but severe FPS drops and a whole host of other issues.

Things are looking up, however, as the now available PC update promises to improve load times, fix memory leaks as well as various other crashes and annoyances. Here's the short, but important, list of patch notes:

The Division will have timed exclusive DLC for the Xbox One

If you were looking forward to some The Division post launch content I bring both good and bad news. The good news is that all of the free updates, of which two have been announced so far, will be available simultaneously for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

The bad news is that Ubisoft has recently announced that the first two paid expansions will start with one month of Xbox One exclusivity before being released for the PC and PS4. If you're wondering what exactly you're missing out on here's a brief rundown of the paid DLCs:

Overwatch release date may have been leaked

Its been known for a long time now that Overwatch would be releasing in the spring of 2016, though the specific date was never mentioned.

While there is still no official announcement, an erroneously released advertisement from IGN gave us both the release date and the start of the "open beta". Here's the add, courtesy of Reddit user Deadpoolthegreat:

[Update] Blizzard has come out and officially confirmed that Overwatch is coming for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 on May 24th.

The Fable series has come to a sad end

The Fable Legends open beta was recently delayed until spring though Lionhead announced that they would be accepting 100,000 PC and Xbox One players in to the closed beta over the coming months. By all accounts, it seemed that Fable Legends was chugging along nicely.

The truth, however, is quite different given that neither of those two things will be coming to pass as Microsoft has just come out and stated that Fable Legends has been canceled and that Lionhead & Press Play Studios are being dissolved. Here's the short announcement message:

Total War: Warhammer Dwarf campaign

After the recent combat overview, where Orks ruthlessly smashed a bunch of disorganized humans, the Total War: Warhammer team is back once again, this time around giving us a glimpse at the Dwarven campaign.

While this video doesn't feature any combat it does showcase the technological and economic prowess of the noble, and incredibly stubborn, Dwarves of Kazar-a-Karak. Have a look:

The Division dataminers have discovered the number and list of missions and weapons

After investing far too many hours in to The Division open beta my main issue with the game was how quickly you could blow through the content and how limited the arsenal seemed to be.

If you share similar concerns you'll be delighted to hear that according to itsgamerdoc from Reddit The Division is set to launch with 26 missions and 138 weapons to toy around with. Here's a short overview of what exactly was found:
