Solforge official artwork

Stone Blade Entertainment announced back in early January that they are ceasing all development on SolForge after more than five years of work. According to the brief message the servers were supposed to shut down on January 31st, but there appears to be a rather fortunate change of plans!

Due to the intervention from Grinding Gear Games, the amazing folks behind the equally amazing Path of Exile, the SolForge servers will continue running for the foreseeable future. There will be interruptions in play over the coming weeks as the developers transfer the project to a smaller server, but your collections should remain completely intact.

If you're interested in all of the details, here's the full announcement message:

A lovely race car from Mafia 3 - screenshot

If you're willing to overlook Mafia 3's flaws and would like to continue the story, you might be interested to hear that the developers have just detailed their plans for the upcoming paid story content. There will be three new chapters in total: "Faster, Baby!" at the end of March, "Stones Unturned" in May, and "Sign of the Times" in July. If you own the Season Pass all three of the story chapters will automatically unlock for you, while the rest will need to purchase them at a currently unknown price.

As far as the actual content is concerned, "Faster, Baby!" is going to be all about fast cars, dramatic chases, and "epic stunt driving" as you join forces with Roxy Laveau in order to take down a corrupt Sherrif. If you're up for a more serious narrative, "Stones Unturned" will have Lincoln joining forces with the CIA in order to settle a blood feud that began in the war-torn jungles of Vietnam. And finally, in the "Sign of the Times" chapter you will be hunting down a cult responsible for a string of ritualistic killings, a quest that will lead you to the seedy underbelly of the inner city.

Total War: Warhammer Terry Battle Map Editor screenshot featuring a human town

If you aren't satisfied with the current state of sieges in Total War: Warhammer and really want to make something special, you're in luck as the official Battle Map Editor is slated to arrive later this month. Once it comes it will bring with it pretty much everything you need to create a proper Total War: Warhammer map, everything from props and environment models, to SFX and VFX. But most importantly of all, it will come with an easy one-click export and Steam Workshop support, so you'll be able to easily share and download a whole variety of maps.

The catch is that the maps will only work in custom and multiplayer battles, so if you were hoping to adjust some of the campaign maps I'm afraid you're out of luck. On the positive side, the modding scene for Total War: Warhammer has proven to be surprisingly crafty, so who knows, maybe they'll figure out a way to import these maps into the campaign!

That aside, if you're wondering what Battle Map Editor looks like in action, here's the recently posted preview video that covers almost every aspect of it:

Zandora from Gigantic using her charge attack

It has only been two weeks since the first major update for Gigantic arrived, and already the developers are announcing the second one - Eternal Dawn. Once Eternal Dawn finally arrives on February 23rd it will bring with it a brand new hero by the name of Zandora, the competitive leaderboard, and naturally, a whole bunch of skins to make your characters as fancy as humanly possible.

Unlike the previous update, however, Eternal Dawn will also come with a couple of follow-up updates. The first and most important of these will arrive on March 9th with the Storm Drake - a brand new creature that's capable of using chain-lightning, while the next three weeks will each bring with them a couple of interesting cosmetics.

Dauntless screenshot featuring our hero fighting a Drask monster

Dauntless is an upcoming co-op RPG that's all about hunting down giant monsters, using their various body parts in order to create even more ridiculous weaponry, and then using said weaponry in order to hunt even bigger monster. Long story short, Dauntless aims to be the much-requested PC Monster Hunter competitor!

If you're wondering what all of this might look like, you'll find the announcement trailer down below. It doesn't feature any gameplay, but it should give you a good idea of what to expect, and more importantly, how cheesy all of it is. Here's the video:

Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves gameplay screenshot showing a bunch of wolves

If you like your strategy games seasoned with a bit of tower defense action, you'll be glad to hear that Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves is now free on Steam. It released back in 2013 to some fairly good reviews, and if you're wondering why exactly its free right now I am afraid I have absolutely no idea. There is nothing on Steam, the developers don't seem to be releasing a new game, and the official website is currently down, so consider this one a bit of a mystery!

For those of you wondering what Sang-Froid is even all about, allow me to show you the original trailer. It should give you a good idea of both the story and the general gameplay, but if you need a little bit more information before diving in you will find a lengthy gameplay trailer by heading over here. But for now here's the original trailer, and have fun with the werewolves!

TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue official poster artwork

The HD remake for the original TY the Tasmanian Tiger released from Early Access in December, and apparently it was so damn good it still holds a 99% approval rating on Steam with over a thousand reviews! Given its success it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue is going to be getting the very same treatment.

There is no release date set just yet, but what I can tell you is that TY 2 will follow in the original's footsteps by first launching in Early Access. The very first Early Access build should be 100% playable, although it will be there for a couple of months in order to fix all of the issues, improve the art, and give the developers some time to figure out what kind of features the community wants out of the game (achievements and the like).

Stellaris Utopia expansion official artwork

Following up on the success of the Leviathans Story Pack Paradox has just announced the first major gameplay expansion for Stellaris - Utopia. It will bring with it numerous new options for developing your empire, including new types of space stations and buildings that open alternative routes towards becoming the dominant force in the galaxy. As your species advances and grows in power you'll also be able to choose how to further pursue enlightenment: by following the biological path, the psionic path, the synthetic path, or perhaps a mixture of all three.

Since all of this is fairly complex stuff with far-reaching implications for gameplay Paradox has taken the time to release a trailer detailing all of the new features... by which I mean they've released 20 seconds of random footage that means absolutely nothing. It is pretty to look at, if nothing else! Have a gander:

Echo operator from Rainbow Six Siege

If you've been wondering what all the fuss surrounding Rainbow Six Siege is all about, you now have a chance to find out. By heading over to Steam you can download and play Rainbow Six Siege for the next 28 hours, completely free of charge.

As an added little bonus, Ubisoft has also put Rainbow Six Siege on a 50% discount, so if you end up enjoying yourself you can grab the full game for €20/$20. And don't worry, your progress will carry over to the full version.

Lucio from Overwatch in Heroes of the Storm

After Zarya and Tracer it appears that Lucio will be the next Overwatch hero to join the ever-growing Heroes of the Storm roster. As you might expect, Lucio will bring with him pretty much all of the abilities that make him so amazing in Overwatch, and this includes the endlessly amusing ability to wall-ride!

If you're wondering what the Brazilian DJ might look like in Heroes of the Storm, here's the recently posted teaser trailer. Its a bit short on actual gameplay, but its enough to show that this is indeed the Lucio we know and love! Anyway, here's the video:
