Northgard official artwork and logo

Northgard is a viking themed real-time strategy game from the makers of Evoland. In gameplay it resembles a hybrid between the Civilization and Settlers series, though with a bit less complexity than either of those. In other words, Northgard is primarily focused around city-building, resource management, tight production cycles, and an open-ended playstyle that allows you to achieve victory by any means you wish.

When I first did my review back in February I expressed some concerns about the combat playstyle given that it only features three types of units, all of which are relatively slow and melee. As such, I am very glad to say that some of these issues have been corrected with today's patch as Northgard has not only added two new combat units, but multiplayer as well! The first of these units is the powerful but fragile Axe Thrower which should go a long way towards promoting hit and run tactics, while the second unit is the Shield Bearer - a strong defensive frontliner designed to protect your troops from enemy ranged units and towers. Naturally, each of the units requires their own building to field, so this should hopefully bring some much needed strategy and depth to Northgard's combat.

Stones Unturned official artwork for Mafia 3's DLC

Stones Unturned, Mafia 3's second piece of DLC, has now arrived with a brand new story centered around John Donovan. Together you will be trying to uncover a dangerous plot in New Bordeaux that will lead you on a chase throughout the city, and ultimately to a new island location filled with secrets and interesting places to explore.

If you're interested in seeing what this new location might look like in-game, here's the recently posted launch trailer that showcases just that. Its a bit light on gameplay, but it'll at least give you a good idea of what the story is all about. Have a look:

Warframe comic book cover artwork

Warframe is a co-op focused game about space ninjas slicing and dicing hordes upon hordes of monsters and mutants. Given the premise you wouldn't really expect Warframe to have an interesting story, or even a story at all, but the truth is that Warframe's lore is actually quite compelling! Its full of ancient horrors, unanswered questions, dubious allies, and enemies whose hatred for the Tenno (the aforementioned space ninjas) goes far beyond what is expected.

As such, I am quite excited to say that Top Cow Comics will be working on an official comic book series for Warframe. The details are currently a bit shaky, but from what I can tell you the comics will follow Excalibur as he tries to protect a blinded young girl, the last survivor of a recently destroyed village on Earth. The writers are also promising a bunch of hints and teasers for events that are yet to come, but sadly they didn't disclose more than that.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam gameplay screenshot of infrantry

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is a 64-player brawl between the US forces and the Vietnamese, with each side having their own unique abilities, weapons, and tactical advantages such as napalm strikes or artillery barrages. Unlike the majority of FPS games out there Rising Storm 2 is all about making combat as realistic and authentic as possible, so expect to see low kill times and plenty of squad-based strategies.

For those of you wondering what this might look like in gameplay terms, here's the recently posted launch trailer that covers pretty much everything from vehicles to infantry charges. Have a look:

The indie games published by Adult Swim are much like their TV shows: strange and often completely over-the-top. That doesn't mean they're bad, however! If anything, I would say that Adult Swim has managed to snag a whole bunch of talented indie developers under their wing as most of the games I've tried so far were really, really compelling.

If you've never given any of them a try, but you have a bit of free time to burn on a stack of creative indie games, you'll be glad to hear that the Humble "Adult Swim Games" Bundle has now arrived. Here's the list of games and the tier they appear in:

Star Trek: Bridge Crew screenshot of the Enterprise

Star Trek: Bridge Crew released yesterday for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, bringing with it the one thing every Star Trek fan always wished for: the ability to sit in the captain's chair and constantly order their friends around! Given that the whole premise sounds like a gimmick you might assume the game is nothing more than a passing distraction, but if the critic and user reviews are any indicator its actually pretty damn good!

As such I am very glad to say that every new HTC Vive purchase will come with a 'free' copy of Star Trek: Bridge Crew. An incredibly smart move in my opinion since this is one of the rare few VR games that is more than glorified tech demo. After all, is there a better way to get someone hooked on VR than to offer them an enjoyable, but also lengthy experience?

Killer Instinct 2013 official artwork

Killer Instinct, Microsoft's free-to-play fighting game, will soon be expanded with a brand new character. As you can probably guess from the title, the next character is going to be the arrow-slinging Eagle, who to my knowledge has never before been playable.

All of this was revealed through the recently posted teaser trailer, and if you would like see what Eagle looks like in game you'll find it right below. Just make sure to temper your expectations as the teaser is literally just that, a teaser! Have a look:

Battlefield 1 screenshot of a tank and a soldier next to it from the May Update

A short while ago EA promised they would be releasing one large update for Battlefield 1 each month, starting with May. With the end of May just around the corner EA has now finally released the very first of these monthly updates, bringing with it a variety of balance and gameplay changes.

There is a ridiculous amount of vehicle and airplane changes to go over, so if you're just interested in those I would recommend visiting the official website. On the other hand, if you're interested in the highlights and some of the general changes, here they are:

Overwatch teaser for either a brand new Lunar Horizon Map or a Hammond hero

The Overwatch Anniversary Update arrived only a week ago with a whole bunch of cosmetics and dance emotes to mess around with, but it would appear that is not all we will be seeing this anniversary. As is tradition when revealing something new, Blizzard has just posted an incredibly enticing image onto their official Twitter, and then conveniently left out all of the important information.

As you can see on the image above, the Overwatch devs are clearly teasing more details about the fate of the Horizon Lunar Colony. From what we know so far the Moon colony was used to conduct extensive genetic modifications on gorillas with the intent to make them more intelligent, as seen in Winston. However, due to an event that have very little details about, the gorillas staged a rebellion and either killed or threw out all of the humans, leaving the Horizon Lunar Colony currently occupied only by sentient, super-intelligent gorillas.

Master Raven from Tekken 7 screenshot

Tekken 7 is set to arrive in the very near future for both PC and consoles, on June 2nd to be specific. With the launch date just around the corner the developers have begun releasing a whole bunch of videos showcasing the various characters in action, six per each video.

As you can probably guess from the title alone today's video is showing off Yoshimitsu, Sergei Dragunov, and Master Raven, but also Leo, Asuka Kazama, and Lili. So if you're interested in seeing what your favorites look and play like in Tekken 7 you'll find the character trailer #4 right below. Have a look:
