Enter the Gungeon official artwork without logo

Enter the Gungeon is a bullet-hell roguelike with tons of cool weapons and simple controls that make it easy to learn, but also a surprising amount of depth and complexity that make it insanely hard to master. While I had my fill of Enter the Gungeon way quicker than I grew bored of The Binding of Isaac, it is still one of the best action-roguelikes I've played in quite a while.

As such, I am very happy to say that the developer Dodge Roll has now announced that Enter the Gungeon has gone platinum with over one million copies sold! For an indie game released in April of 2016 these are some pretty damn impressive numbers! They are likely to increase even further as Enter the Gungeon will soon be coming to the Nintendo Switch and also getting a bunch of new content, though what that content is and when it'll be ready I'm afraid the developers haven't announced just yet.

Might & Magic Showdown artwork with logo

After being in Steam Early Access for less than half a year the miniatures strategy game Might & Magic Showdown will be shutting down later this month. While its always sad to see a game go, this might just be some sort of record as far as big studios are concerned.

Might & Magic Showdown has already been pulled from Steam, while the serves themselves will be shutting down on July 31st, 2017. Since Might & Magic Showdown is a PvP focused game this means that its going to be well and truly dead once the next month rolls around. Given the circumstances Ubisoft will be offering full refunds until July 31st, so do make sure to take them up on that offer.

Beyond Skyrim mod screenshot of the Roscrea region

As you might imagine from the name alone, Beyond Skyrim is a mod that allows you to travel beyond the borders of Skyrim in order to explore the other provinces of Tamriel. The mod has recently been updated with Bruma, a massive region located in Northern Cyrodiil, but apparently there is even more content on the horizon!

The next phase of Beyond Skyrim will expand the game's borders all the way to the island of Roscrea, "a land of frozen caverns and life giving springs." While Roscrea is still in early development you can get a sneak peek at some of the new locations via the recently posted teaser trailer. Have a look:

Ys Seven official artwork without logo

The Ys series has only recently made its transition to PC, but it appears that it has already managed to become a massive success as there are currently not one, but two Ys games arriving in the relatively near future. The brand new Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will be coming to PC and PS4 this September, while the newly announced HD port of Ys Seven will make its way to PC this summer.

Once Ys Seven comes to the PC you can expect to see upscaled and improved visuals, as well as all of the "features of a modern PC release". What exactly that means, the developers haven't clarified, but I'm guessing proper keybinding support, mouse & keyboard controls, and an options menu that contains more than two buttons. The previous ports offered exactly this and more, so hopefully the same will apply to Ys Seven.

Final Fight's Abigail in Street Fighter V

While most fighting game fans are currently celebrating the various announcements, Street Fighter V players are a bit less... enthused with their reveal. As you've probably already heard the 4th character of Season 2 will be Final Fight's Abigail - an absolutely ginormous man that can easily slap around all of the other fighters. Given how terrifying that sounds you might be wondering why all of the complaints, and the answer is that Capcom is playing him off entirely as a joke.

Rather than explain all of this to you, perhaps it would be for the best if you just checked out the recently posted teaser trailer down below. Its quite a spectacle, that's for sure! Have a look:

Anthem screenshot of multiple characters flying with jetpacks

Despite being flawed in quite a few ways Destiny has gained a rather massive fanbase over the years. As such, it was only a matter of time before other studios decided to try their hands at the formula in order to see if they can recreate the same sort of success.

The first major challenger so far is BioWare's Anthem - a co-op action-RPG that's all about shooting a whole bunch of enemies while wearing what is essentially Iron Man suits. It might not sound like the most original thing in the world, but if the relatively recent gameplay trailer is any judge it does appear to be quite enjoyable. Have a look, but just try to ignore the 'best friends' over-acting every bit of the gameplay:

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle official artwork with logo screenshot

Arc System Works have really decided to take the fighting game scene by storm. During E3 2017 they announced Dragon Ball FighterZ, a 2.5 fighting game that is supposed to bring the series back to its roots, and now they have announced yet another game - BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.

As you can probably gleam from the article title alone, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be a crossover between Persona 4 Arena, UNIEL, BlazBlue, and most surprisingly of all, Rooster Teeth's RWBY! If this sounds like something you might enjoy and you're currently wondering how long you'll have to wait to get it, I'm afraid I bring some disappointing news. BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be coming at some point in 2018, though not even a time-frame has been given just yet, so expect to see it later in the year.

Trunks screenshot from the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ game

Dragon Ball FighterZ is an upcoming 2.5D fighting game that aims to bring back the series to its roots. Much to the delight of many, it is being developed by Arc System Works, a studio you might know from their work on the Blaz Blue and Guilty Gear series of fighting games. In other words, there is actually a high chance they're going to pull this one off!

So if you're currently wondering what Dragon Ball FigherZ might look like in gameplay terms, wonder no more as Bandai Namco has released a brief teaser trailer focused entirely on Trunks and his explosive moveset. Have a look, its quite the spectacle:

RuneScape artwork for the mobile version

RuneScape has always been a relatively simple game to play, so much so that you could practically play it while watching Youtube videos on the side. As such, it really shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Jagex has now announced a mobile version of RuneScape!

The mobile client will not simply be a port of the PC version. It will come with a specially designed interface and controls optimized for mobile, and perhaps most importantly of all, there will be persistent cross-platform play between the various versions. In other words, you can play RuneScape while on the bus, come back home to your PC and just continue on with your adventure.

Total War: Warhammer 2 screenshot of the Lizardmen in battle

It has been known for a little while now that Total War: Warhammer 2's pre-order bonus will in some way be related to the original game, but what exactly the bonus was nobody knew. While the specifics are still unknown, Creative Assembly has come out today and announced that instead of a pre-order bonus the new content will be available to everyone who purchases the game within the first week, and that it will be a new playable race for Total War: Warhammer!

The early-adopter Race Pack will be revealed later this week, but what I can tell you right now is that it will be more along the lines of Bretonnia rather than the Chaos Warriors. In other words, you can expect to see new legendary lords with unique starting positions and their own factions, a whole bunch of new units, as well as different and race-specific mechanics to make it all the more interesting.
